Finally got one of the D-Nail carb caps when they were back in stock recently and I gotta say, I think I like it better than the V-Rod from NewVape. It definitely fits the Halo a lot better and being lighter means it picks up less heat from the Halo when resting on top. I do like how the V-Rod allows dab tools to be screwed in from the side (in addition to the top) which prevents the tool itself from picking up a lot of heat, so I'd be hard-pressed to say which one is actually better. Both spin the SiN pearl equally well, though I feel I have to pull a little softer with the D-Nail carb cap than the V-Rod to get the terp pearl to spin at the same rate.

So yeah in summary, both are great carb caps for the Halo lol.

A short piece of 1/4" ID silicone tubing on the dnail carb cap forked stem works as a safe handle when you move it.

Dnail sent my dabber handle and a heap of freebies for my trouble;
1x SiC Comet
3x Quartz Comets
1x set of Suba-seals (real handy for cleaning J-hooks
2x Hat pins and stickers.
Pretty happy customer here, one thing that bothers me is the fit of the height washer that holds the flat coil, the washer/nut seems too small and screws partially into the coil and does not seat properly. I see on the DNail site a picture of the breakdown of the slim line series nail and the picture shows a large diameter nut/washer at the top and a small diameter nut/washer on the bottom yet the listing says 2x height lock nuts, nothing about them being a different size and the 2 I received are both the small diameter. Have I received the wrong part or is this what you get now?

I can't quite make out the picture in your post but clicking the link takes me here

Is this it? If so, the order of assembly on the right is what I do, except I don't use the small washer on the bottom, I didn't find that it added any benefit? From the bottom up it's the tapered fitting, then the body/heatsink, then the large flat washer, coil, Halo dish, and retaining lug. The washer that sits underneath the coil is nearly as large as the width of the coil.

The smaller washer is used to support the coil in some of D-nail's photographs, though. Perhaps it is large enough to work?

Thanks @SamuraiSam, I could not get the large pic to load for some reason and also the pointer towards the other picture showing the small washer in place.
From the reply I got it sounds like they are updating the build to not have the large support washer anymore but may send me one with the Polar Shift Plate I showed interest in? I said I already have a sauce plate as they had no stock I purchased elsewhere (I use my ultrasonic cleaner for the job)
We will see what they say after the weekend.

Lots of rumblings in the D-nail camp. The original founder has taken back the company it looks like he’s in the process of releasing a lot new products including:

-Falling film nail
- xl sapphire and sic Halos
-split level 28mm PB E-Toric
-1.4 box
-Channel cap which uses the groves in the lens cap as airflow

-S-series adaptors made out of SIC

All looks very interesting, I've been waiting for them to update the Halo forever and definitely scooped both SIC and Sapphire XLs, E-Toric and a 1.4 which the most durable enail I’ve ever used. I think they ran a car over it and it was fine.

S-series is another thing that I and others I believe were hoping for which was to make the Ti adapters in another material. S-series is similar to ti slim series except it’s machined threaded SIC. So you could use a halo with no Ti involved! That to me sounds very interesting and I’ll definitely be getting one of those. It’s good to see they are innovating and spoke with the owner on IG a little bit and he has some other ideas that could really change things up. He told me the S-series is about 3 weeks until release and has a very limited amount of XL Halos. I just can’t wait to ditch my Ti and see what XL Halos are like with an all SIC setup.

Manufacturer - Owner of D-Nail
What is this:

split level 28mm PB E-Toric
New nail - cylindrical toroid bottom level with heater mount designed to channel oil and airflow into a mixing zone that encourages oil to be spread into a thin film for more efficient vapor production while mitigating splash. Proper verbiage is still being determined.

I couldn't care less about yet another $400 totally basic ass controller even if its bundled with a nail and worthless rig "protector" or any of that overpriced PB stuff. The SIC slim base for the Halos is rather interesting but my obvious concern is the SIC is going to dump heat into your rig, Im very curious as to how they are addressing that as the ti setup already could get your glass pretty toasty and SIC is going to make it so much worse.

I think I would like the deeper SiC Halo, not sure about the rest.
I hear your concerns about heat transfer @ensabbahnur, I blew out 3x glass dropdowns while waiting for the large washer to lock the heater a bit higher from the heat sink (DNail do not supply this large washer with the Slim Series anymore)
It would be nice to get rid of the Ti out of the really hot part of the equation somehow.

The first rule of FC is Be Nice, and this post... doesn't quite qualify. You can be critical but please be a bit more respectful in your choice of language. Thanks for your cooperation.

Please, is the D-Nail Sapphire dish can fits a HighFive base?

There is one Sapphire dish for sale I would like to buy IF compatible with my HighFive base only!

TIA
