Radishes. What is the draw here?

I had wings tonight, and washed up a few radishes to try in the ranch dressing; it isn't all that good. Great with wings, meh on radishes. My choice is still to daintily dip them in salt.
Buzzbomb learned the hard way, radishes pack a wallop and are not for the casual snacker. I am a serious buttermilk ranch dressing guy and cringe at the thought of mixing it with radishes

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
Yeah, scrap the ranch dressing :puke:

My favorite combo with radishes is ranch dressing. Like if there ain't no ranch I don't even want the radishes. Although I have found french and blue cheese to be decent alternatives.

hey hans, that combination sounds like a tough eat. You pulling my leg here? To even suggest a radish being eaten with a strawberry is actually intriguing upon second thought. Props, that may actually work in a weird culinary way triple d style

Have fun. I don't like ranch dressing at all, or either of the other two creamy dressings you mention.
I prefer to the oil & vinegar based dressings.

I grew up with things like Gehacktes a German version of steak tartar, raw beef onions and cracked black pepper on rye. That was 50 years ago never killed me.

Try some of my kimchi if you want to see what packs a wallop. I love radishes, just don't think ranch dressing does anything for them.

Peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches are awesome
Hmmmm, new one on me. I used to eat peanut butter and sardine sandwiches when I was a young teen, but that was long ago.
Cheese Whiz and dill pickle sandwiches are good.

falling back on my original point, these are texture veggies. A little pepper shot? Yes i grant you that. But there is where it ends with me. On the edge of my fat plate between a romain lettuce sprig and a tomato slice (aka far more veggies to my salad). Sure i pick around at them but rarely do i reach for them. Thanks for the crunch and down the hatch. Salad was good, nobody cares if it had radishes

A year on, and the radishes from the store have been very good. I bought 2 bunches when they were .68, then went back for 2 more. Up to a dollar, and back for more! They're bigger than shooter marbles, but wonderfully crisp and juicy, not woody at all, and delicious. I used one bunch of greens in a salad, but the ones I have saved now are probably too old. No problem - I'll get more today.
Radishes are not a page 5 vegetable.
