That's probably a bit more than I needed to do to get mine tasting neutral, but not much IIRC.
Since you have already used it maybe keep using it a bit more to see if things improve enough to satisfy?

I think I remember another poster here who didn't like the taste, so maybe you guys are just more sensitive to it than me
I do think I'm pretty picky re' flavour now though, compared to my early vaping days that is.
The mIQro is the only electric conduction vape that I have that I still use, the others just don't cut it anymore (Inhalator, Flowermate fm3) when it comes to taste.
I mostly stick to convection at home, and use either a GH or the mIQro when out and about, but I do find the mIQro good enough that I occasionally reach for it when I want a slow session at home.

I do definitely have an above average sense of taste/smell, so maybe that could explain it.

Anyways I just ran it empty through max temp until the battery died and the smell is still there. I'll probably end up selling it and getting something else.
Since small size is a top priority for me, I might get a GH or a Dynavap.
How do you like the GH? Does it give you any trouble?

I’ve had a great experience with mIQro, I put some med. ground flower in the oven and I can’t pick out those industrial notes in the vapor.
Not to downplay Combustioneers’ health concerns, but include in your thinking for what you’re using this device. Don’t get me started on the pre-apocalyptic chemical fog that surrounds our lives.
But hey, Vapewell

My GH has been fine, but given the epic car crash that exists in the GH thread here on FC, I couldn't in all conscience recommend you take a chance like that!
Have a good read first if you are thinking of taking that gamble (especially the recent stuff as I think things may have changed recently).
It seems a shame to give up on the mIQro so soon, but if you're not digging it then I guess there's other vapes out there.
I absolutely LOVE my DV's, but they're limited in noisy, or windy conditions, and not especially stealthy, so take those aspects into consideration.
(They're fantastic in every other way)
We shouldn't discuss other vapes in the mIQro thread though.

You're right. Anyways I just want to mention that aside all what has been discussed, the miqro is actually a very cool device. It feels pretty premium, convenient to use and is very effective. Just did a bowl with it and it was great.
Also I'd like to clarify that I don't really feel much of a plastic aftertaste when vaping bud but it's very prominent when the vape is clean and empty. But whatever, the thought of it makes me uncomfortable.
Thanks for the feedback guys

I did a couple of burn-off cycles when I first got mine and have experienced no industrial smells or tastes, and I'm sensitive to that.

I also noticed the other day that full batteries were showing up as half charged in the unit so I went ahead and did a hard reset and that fixed it. I also noticed a little more battery life than usual. I should have done a hard reset when I first got the unit. Now the battery life is still poor, but not as poor as before.

Btw does anyone have any tips about maximizing the herb efficiency of the miqro? I'm usually getting quite a bit of green left after finishing a bowl, even on smart path 4. I use the smallest oven size setting using the pearl and try to grind pretty fine. Is there no avoiding stirring the bowl mid session?

Heh, having to stir is not a short-coming, it's a feature!

Been enjoying my mIQro a lot. Are you comfortable with leaving some green in the oven, for later? Here's a thought (one at a time is my limit, about now) - fill your bowl a little more than you would for a normal session, stop where you regularly do, and save the oven contents for a little boost, later, after a good stir.

I mainly use mIneQro for micro-dosing (that is if you can get wicked lit from micro-dosing...) and I generally vape with the pearl a couple turns from fully extended, a med/small amount of flower in the oven and I always finish with a significant amount of green on the bottom of the pearl. Which, after a while (later that night, mañana,...) I stir and have a satisfying amount left to consume. My USD0.02.

The smaller the amount of material, the harder I’m finding the efficiency. I fill it to the top and tamp down so that a little white of the oven is showing. I don’t need to stir midstream to get consistent brown abv. But I’m also not doing the whole bowl in one session so not sure that has an impact or not.

Do you time it so that you take a few more draws after turning it off? I'd imagine the residual heat being enough to further cook the herb.

Well, I have one of these but it kind of fell through the cracks behind an Arizer ARGO and a PAX 3.

I love the full sized DaVinci, but this one, while cosmetically the same, is a different beast. Playing with it a little today it seems to be finicky about the load size/pack.

I really want to get the hang of the Miqro. The size is ideal.

I do 2-3 hits at a time. About 50% through the last hit, I click the power button the 5 times to turn it off. At that point the temp is falling while I'm inhaling. Sometimes I'll just open the bottom slightly toward the end to cool it down even quicker. Definitely less vapor from the last hit but I know by the end all heating/baking has stopped.

I ended up buying these. They are tiny, about the size of the extended mouthpiece's hole. I stacked a couple of them then put the pearl on top. I got a burning feeling in my throat so took them out. I thought glass would be more pure but now thinking metal would be safer? I don't smoke a full bowl in one sitting so was looking for a spacer. My understanding is that with conduction it's best to not save it for later. Is that correct?

Anyone know the size/diameter of the oven? Do you think this would fit as a spacer?

Thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds like those spacers might be a bust. Oh well, one of these days one of us will find a perfect spacer for all to use!

You can certainly go back to the herb later, the issues are: efficiency and taste.
When you turn off after finished for time being, you should still be able to get a hit or two - by doing this you will be capturing extra goodness that would just be wasted + it will help cool down oven quicker to keep it from continuing to cook. I usually just turn off knowing I still have two good hits to go.
When you go back for more, give it a good stir and retamp- you will also have to adjust the pearl (or future spacer) as your herb will shrink a bit.
This will help with keeping up flavor and evenly vaping herb, but it never tastes as good after you shut it off first time. But you can still get another solid session from it - maybe even two depending on temp and how much you packed in there. I tend to step up temp each time I turn back on when I really want to be efficient with my herb usage.

Am I going crazy or is the Davinci Miqro bundle being sold for £70 (GBP) / $90 (USD) on Namaste vapes whereas the Vape by itself is more expensive at £115 / $144 on the same site.

I can't see anywhere doing the vape as cheap as what this site is doing the bundle, for that price it's a no brainer.

Great deal if you are in the UK. FedEx shipping to the US adds another $75 to the cost....

Wow, that's gotta be a pricing error yeah?
Fantastic deal if they honour it.
Anyone considering getting a small conduction portable would do well to grab this deal.
Well spotted

It definitely looks like they are honouring it.

I ordered one a fair few hours before I posted that and it is already out for shipping with DPD to be delivered on Monday, when it comes through and if it is complete as expected then I may order 10 more as they go for double the price on ebay however I've noticed this week that they change their prices often so it may be an unannounced flash sale and the price may rise at the drop of a hat.

Ran some mystery dankness that I’d put into a small travel tube a while back and didnt remember what it was through the mIQro this morning. Wonderful flavor. Happy Saturday!

I had the same experience with the micro as @chopus.

Bought one with high hopes but the first thing I noticed when opening the box was a terrible factory smell like unwrapping a new memory foam mattress.

Over the course of 3 days, I did several (~15) burn off, cleaning, and air out sessions including several hours (12) in an air flow chamber.

After all this, the device would smell fine at room temp (no hint of odor at all) but the minute it started heating up, that terrible smell would start coming from the silicone gasket between the heating chamber and bottom (where the Pearl rests against when closed).

I've read about seasoning it with ABV and responses from DaVinci about how the silicone will smell until the pores absorb the odor from something else.

But the smell was always so strong and repelling that I can't help but think they used low quality or improperly cured silicone that would continue offgassing when heated. I might as well combust if I'm going to be inhaling crap like that.

In the end, I returned it which was a shame because I liked absolutely everything else about it. Seems like a well-designed solid device. Just too much stinky silicone.

Hope others have a better experience with it as it is a really cool little vape.

Did yours turn up?
They were at £70 all weekend, but I managed to grab one in the flash sale on Friday evening at £56 for the explorer kit. I was worried they'd not honour it, but it arrived a short while ago. Full explorer kit too.
It's on charge now.

Seems to be a decent little vape, I suppose I'd better start reading from page 1 on this thread while it's filling it's battery up.

Thanks folks. !

I'm going to enjoy finding my groove with this. Looks like I can get 2 sessions out of the 1 full oven.

I'm thinking this is a slow your roll kinda vape. I always found the mighty to be a bit rushed, BOOM, it extracts so quickly and you get a short window before it's spent, whereas the miqro is a slower experience.
The taste is already amazing me.

Yes mine turned up on Monday, the full kit so they did honour it, amazing price at £70 never mind £56, done a few burn offs at first and I have since used it three times, pleased so far and it definitely has a place in my collection but I need to mess with the temps before I get full efficiency and satisfaction from it.

Apparently they are having a 20% sale on entire site thru 7/27. Use code SUMMER20.

Welcome @Marcus-TGC Hope you enjoy your new toy! Let us know if you have any questions.

Shame I missed this but still not complaining at £70, I actually looked for a code for two days as well before purchasing :D

It's already back up to £114 for the basic and £144 for the explorer, lucky for them as I was about to order 10 for that £56 price as the cheapest price on ebay for UK is £112 and that's for the basic, never mind though, I'm delighted with my bargain...

Thanks folks. !

I'm looking forward to playing with it this weekend. I've got a couple of sessions out of the full oven thus far however I feel like it will be much more efficient using precision temps as opposed to the temperature paths, basically I'll use it the same as I use the Pax 3.

I found that when using the Pax and allowing it to steadily increase the temp how the Miqro paths works I got less from my herb, I start the Pax on 195c and gradually increase in 5c increments when I start getting less on the current temp, it's easily the most efficient way for me so I'll be using the Miqro that way this weekend, really looking forward to testing it properly :leaf:
