Firewood Vaporizer

Does anyone still use their FW4 daily? Stock heat settings or increased, and by how much? I'm wondering how long the heater will last.

I've been using mine daily since it was first released, until a few months ago. Seemed like it wasn't heating as well, even after bumping up the temp to level 1, so i decided to switch to a Dynavap 2019 M for awhile. Now I'm starting to use the FW4 again and still feel that the heater is weaker. But I will keep using it because the flavor and high is so much better than the M.

I use the FW4 3-6 times/week with the OG battery. I have not had any issues. I believe the only FW where I adjusted the temp levels up was the FW3.

Guys! I need help! The firewood5 is my most used vaporizer and yesterday I broke the tray in 2 pieces! It was one of these moments when your brain is not working right

The tray broke in the middle bowl, is there anyway to repair it?
Does anyone has a spare tray that is not used? I would also buy a used firewood5 for a nice price..

I also wrote Marc an email about it since the trays are not available from the website anymore..

I'm thankful for any help!

The tool\lid is genius.
Thanks!

I should add some info on how it works... As you can see there is no button like on fw5. The button is the heater, which you can see in the second pic. It is spring loaded so when you squeeze it against the bowl (by squeezing the whole unit together), your squeezing action does double duty: it activates the internal button, and also created a tight seal between heater and bowl.

The little slider thing on the side has 3 positions: far left is to open/close, far right is to lock it shut for transportation, middle is to use.

I'm probably gonna buy one of this when i return from my trip.

There should be fw5 trays available on the website if needed.

Very nice!

Is the mouthpiece telescopic somehow? Or are you supposed to put your lips directly on the little bit that's barely protruding?

Is it completely unregulated or is there some electronics inside? Can the cell be inserted both ways?

Do you have an idea of its power output?

Yeah, yeah, I know, I tend to ask a lot of question...

Yes the mouthpiece extends. In the third picture you can see an opening on the bottom of the unit that exposes the end of the glass tube near where you draw. The glass tube has a silicone sleeve at that point that you can use to slide the tube out when it is all the way in.

It is regulated just like fw5. The only difference will be more accurate calibration and instead of having 3 heat levels that can be tweaked up and down there will be 3 heat levels that can be set to anywhere within a range of temps. The unit will not work if the cell is inserted backwards

Power output varies a lot depending on selected heat level, whether you are talking about cold power at the instant it first starts (room temp or even outside on a cold day) vs already heated up, how charged the battery is, etc.. It is hard to compare power of vapes especially without deciding on whether it is cold or hot and battery voltage. To get two extremes I just ran two measurements - first with the heater at room temp and 4.2V. Current draw was approximately 8A for 33.6W. Then with the heater at heat saturation temp (never actually achieved due to regulation, the heater is glowing at this point - basically what you'd get if it was unregulated and you held the button) and at 3.9V and I got only 5.5A for 21.45W. So I guess the answer is somewhere between 21W and 34W maybe?

Edit:
Also, I just wanted to point out one other feature that I recently discovered, that I think no other vape has. Basically after a few draws I typically stir the bowl a bit then retamp slightly, which gives a hit that is amazingly good in taste and size for late in the session. That's not the feature though - the feature is that while you are stirring you can really easily scoop in a few extra flakes of herb on top of the nearly done avb and you get a freshy at the end of the session. Name me another vape where you can get a freshy on the last draw!

FW is the only thing that gets me excited.

Looks amazing.

How many bowls does the FW6 hold?

Is the bowl the same size as the FW5?

Did you increase the heater performance?

When is the release?

I haven't measured the storage size in terms of number of bowls, but it is a lot. I'd say like 1.5 to 2 grams. If you really packed it as tight as you could, i'm sure you could fit over 3.5 g but it might be hard to get it all out. Like several times the storage of fw5 if not more.

The bowl is definitely bigger, but has a better shape so can do well with large and small loads. It is tapered so that the bottom opening is smaller than fw5 but the top is bigger, and it is about 33% longer.

The heater has a slightly lower resistance so will heat up a little bit faster and let you draw a little harder without it getting overloaded. In addition there are some heat isolation features that the fw5 heater didn't have, which also contribute to better performance.

Hoping for middle of August.

Great work!
Can it microdose at least like the fw5 ? By this I mean can it darken the load if you fill only the tapered bottom part of the bowl you are talking about?

Also can the ceramic bowl be extracted for cleaning or replacement?

I guess I'll be in a big dilemma for some weeks/months because the only way I can buy it is selling my fw5...

One thing that worries me a bit is the wear and tear of the wood and closing/seal system and tolerance with use as it has to be opened and closed at least two times in the beginning and middle/end of a bowl load/ session.
