New portable heavy hitter vaporizer

Interesting, i'm looking into the woodscents.

Do you people think that woodscent is superior compared to the plenty?

The woodscents is a great vaporizer. I think any log should be better than a plenty. Logs are just so efficient. With the woodscents, you do get a complete dynvap with matching wood stem. I've never heard of this retailer but they seem to be the best deal for WS shipped to EU (free shipping):

https://vootra.co/products/domestic-woodscents-vaporizer

Maybe @Ed's TnT can chime in on whether Vootra is an authorized reseller.

I did read that you don't like desktops because you don't want to be tethered which I can appreciate but I'm wondering why exactly you want a desktop. Can you help me understand what you're looking for in a desktop?

@VaporWare are you in batch 3? What does it look like? When do you get it? I will live vicariously through you for the time being.

The desktop vape idea is kinda new because a lot of people say that they are very powerfull and efficient and maybe i can learn to live with a thetered device.
Also no problem with battery life etc.

Right now i'm looking for the volcano, the plenty and now the woodscent.

If i go for the woodscent i'm probably gonna buy it from the france site (if the shipping is from france and not us), i have a trip in august and i can't risk of not having my new vape during my trip.
But i also need a portable because sometimes i don't have a wall in close proximity and i love the freedom of movement with a portable device.

So basically my budget was 300 euro for a portable device, now is more 500 for a desktop and a portable.

But i can still change my idea lol.

If you want desktop power but don't want the cord, I'd suggest getting a Splinter with a 3 battery mod and six batteries. You will need a cooling stem as all 510 vapes produce warmer vapor but the splinter meets most of the requirements that you initially listed:

i want a REALLY heavy hitter with fast heat-up time (even better on demand) with good battery life and fast recharge (or swappable cheap batteries), big clouds, minor draw resistance, cool vapour without water piece, almost no mainteinance or cleaning and efficient with my weed.
form factor is not really a problem but i don't want a lot of glass because i'm clumsy...

You can take your time when you get back to figure out what else you might want but the splinter should suit your needs just fine and keep you happy during the trip.

That said, if this suggestion doesn't work for you, I still suggest a log over a Cano or Plenty. Since you have a deadline that you're trying to meet, I would highly suggest just looking for a portable or a desktop and not both.

Yeah i looked into box mod vapes but i'm not really convinced with them, steep learning curve, form factor with the long glass piece and reliability in the long term are my doubts. (Also like i said in this topic i'm an absolute noob with box mod, coil, wattage etc. and i'm not sure if i want to learn either)

Right now i'm looking into all the option, nothing is writed in stone yet.

I like the volcano because is the only desktop that you can use like a portable (when you are at home) because the ballons are detachable and on-demand in a way...
I've looked the plenty just jecause some review and people said that the hits from this device are the best for ex joint smoker but i starting to believe that the 1+ gr bowl capacity is more responsable than the device itself...

(Sorry for my english)

No need to apologize for your English...you're doing just fine. The reason why I recommend the Splinter is becuase it works very well in wattage mode which only requires you to set the wattage. Wattage mode is very easy to use and we can help you with that too. Also, you had previously mentioned that form factor is not an issue. You can also get a wood mouthpiece if that is your concern. One thing to note is that your requirements for this vape is not easy to meet:

These are attainable but hard to find in one vape especially if you don't want to be tethered. What you're asking for here is most easily accomplished with a 510 vape and my personal favorite is the Splinter.

Yeah i know, box mod are probably my best chance but i can't really buy something pricey when i'm not fully convinced...

Every time i clear my mind and i'm ready to buy a boxmod i read something on the internet about some problem and i change idea.

My cousin is a boxmod expert (just for ecig purpose) and he change box like i change my underwear and he always talk about how not realiable this things are...sometimes is the display, sometimes a disconnected wire etc.

So paying 250-350 for a box is not exactly easy for me...

I don't have problem with form factor but i have some limit or preference, like i don't care for big bulky vape like a mighty or the ghost but a long glass stem is a no no for me, i like to relax when i vape and i don't want to pay attention to fragile parts...also they looks like glass light sabers and i lost my love for the saga with the last 2 films lol...
Wood stem are nice but don't you have more harsh and less flavourfull hits with them compared to glass?

The lil bud elite form factor is ideal but i can't risk a shipping from usa with a trip in august, i'm really unlucky with shipping time usually.

You can buy a box mod that works with the Splinter for $50 easily. Using box mods for ecigs is different than when using with a dry herb atomizer....you're using much lower wattage so wear from usage isn't that much of a concern.

I have plenty of mods and not a single one has presented an issue yet. This isn't to say they won't break at some time but the potential failure of a mod shouldn't be the reason why you don't want to try a 510 vape. All vapes can break if they are electronic.

I like the idea of an already programmed box specifically for weed like the lil bud elite or the tubo evic.
Buying an external box mode with a normal firmware is a no go for me, i'm lazy and really noob with those things...

Carissimo, come va?:D

Si mi hanno dato un bordello di consigli ma io sono un caxxo di indeciso quando devo comprare robe costose e ogni volta che mi decido per qualcosa, leggo qualche minchiata su internet e cambio idea...

I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying when it comes to the Splinter and it only needing wattage mode. In wattage mode, the only thing that you can change is power. Its extremely easy.

I understood what are you saying, but some people produce cannabis vaporizer box mod with personalized firmware esclusively for weed, a simple box mode doesn't have all the option like session, temp control etc. Not really sure about this tbh, like i said, i'm a noob with boxmod)

How is the wattage works?

Usually with a vape i like to step up with temps to extract every bit of substance and to squeeze the most number of hits.
Like a couple of hits at 165, a couple at 175, a couple at 185 etc.

It doesn't seems that simple and precise with wattage...

The firmware is made for certain box mods so you could get a compatible box mod (lists are available for compatibility) and put the firmware that you want on it. The biggest benefit of the aftermarket firmware (eg, tubo, surmyevic, arctic fox) is the cruise control. This just allows you to use the vape without holding down the button. It is convenient for some 510 vapes but IMO it is completely unnecessary for the Splinter. I feel like the beauty of the Splinter is that it functions so well just on wattage mode. I tried temp control on the Splinter and switched back to wattage within a day or so. I have a few vapes to choose from and the Splinter is one of my favorites and I will always want one in my collection. It hits hard and fast if you want or you can sip on it if you want too. Flavor is great and you can choose how many batteries you want to use with it (I like 3). It is definitely within my daily rotation.

I am not an ecig guy either and I didn't know box mods when I first started but I completely understand why you feel the way you do. I was also very apprehensive about 510 vapes but I just heard too much positive feedback on the Splinter to not try it. I'm glad I did as it helped me explore that category of vapes. I have plenty of 510 options and I very much appreciate how easy the Splinter is to use. It is the Mighty/Crafty of the 510 vapes from that perspective....just easy to use.

With regards to full extraction on a Splinter, its not a problem at all. You don't temp step but rather you can either hold down the fire button for longer or just increase the wattage. Wattage is a function of temperature...the only difference here is that its not regulated temp.

i'm lazy and really noob with those things...

If you're unwilling to put a little work into it (please don't take offense) then maybe the Splinter isn't for you. If you truly want a very easy vaping experience, get a Mighty or a Crafty. Both work great. Not my preferred portable vapes but I'll happily use one if given the chance.

Listen to @flammy my friend! Each time someone recommends it you make a different excuse based on something you researched or something your brother told you.

Most recently you've suggested that a Splinter Z or other 510 device is not for you unless it comes with dry herb specific firmware. That's just an assumption and it's based on no real experience.

I probably mentioned on the first page of this thread that the Wismec rx gen3 dual is a great box mod (mod, not mode) for the Splinter or Splinter Z. @flammy makes a great point that a Z and a three battery mod will give you improved battery life and carrying extra batteries helps even more. Buy a Wismec RX Gen3 if the third battery is more important than the smaller size. They also make one that can switch between two and three batteries with a different back plate.

Your objections aren't based on experience and your reservations are often based on misunderstandings.

Here's what buying a Splinter Z and a Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 Dual or 2/3 will look like:

* You'll put batteries in the mod, screw on the Splinter Z, set wattage to anywhere between 30 and 40W and just hold the fire button down when you draw. That's it! Everyone who owns a Splinter still uses it in wattage mode part of the time and there is no firmware or setting hassle involved (pretty sure I've explained that already).

* For temp stepping just do the same thing you do already but with wattage: start at 31W for the first two to four hits and then bump up to anything higher depending on how rapidly you want to finish. Stepping in wattage is just as simple as upping the number and you'll know from the cloud production and abv browning how it's going.

* Get a plastic tube or a plastic carrying case to protect your glass stem for the trip if that's easier than buying a wooden stem to start with. I've shared a link for the plastic tube I use already too I think.

* Later, after your trip, you can find easy instructions for installing Arctic Fox or sur_myevic and you can ask on the Splinter Z thread where I guarantee it'll take you less time and effort to update your mod than it did to do all this shopping deliberation. Just make sure buy one of the mods the other users on FC recommend so you have the fun firmware options when you get home. Not because they're necessary or make the Splinter Z finally work the way it's supposed to, but just because the menus and modes are handy to add some versatility to an already excellent experience.

. You don't temp step

Wattage stepping. ;)

You don't need the top atomizer, just the body, so you can get away with spending less. You might even be able to pick up one at a local retail shop.

And I would go with a 2 battery over a 3 because of weight & portability, and just have a 2nd set of swappable batteries on-hand.

yeah i'm looking at the stempod, it's 100 euros and i can use one of my cousin many boxmod to try this type of vapes.
also i like the stock glass mouthpiece of the stempod more than the one in the splinter Z.
it's cheap, so i can even buy another portable vape (maybe something without a glass piece for outdoor) or a desktop.
the volcano is still on top of my list, the woodscent kicks ass but it's kinda similar to a boxmod in a way and maybe it will be reduntant...

PM modpodlabs to find out if anyone in EU sells the stem.
As a backup, ask Dan if the 19/22 RBT stems will fit. I believe they will. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for stems:
