@StormyPinkness the test item is not an actual item so you would of ended up with a bowl of air pudding =P

I would of refunded or got creative and added something zesty. Man what a day it was!!!!! I am pretty sure this was a record day for 710 coils =)!!!!!

I do have some more colored caps due soon and can set one aside for you @Roth =P

Got to do a vendor day at one of my local shops and meet some cool people while peddling my sweet sweet wares.

Think I am due for like 10 dabs and a cold drink =)

Your ever loyal coil, quartz, and ruby monger

they say im crazy but i have a good time
...i was going to hold out until closer to winter to pick up ruby inserts (for both 30mm and 25mm bangers) but my luck has it that i will probably be picking up ruby inserts sooner than later :D... idk why but i usually only dab during the clod months, probably because i'm inside more and it's easier...

...keep up all the great work shane / @710Coils one stop dab shop... only place i point peeps to when they need gear...

Just got a whole bag of goodies from 710coils, shipped fast and with a sweet sour treat to boot. I just took a hit at 430 floor temp, something I feel is made possible by the synergy of the Q-PI cap, beveled opaque banger, axial extra wrap coil, and these new ruby pearls I am rocking. My opinion is that they are better than quartz by far, so much so that it may be a while before I break out the SiC beads I also purchased. The skillet tool I got (waxon) is very effective, as I use sauces and runny concentrates quite a bit. It can pick up a good sized glob and hold it without spillage while I move it to the banger, which has been a sticking issue with all my glass dabbers. Great Job 710coils! Customer for life here!

PS: Does anyone have some next level tips for caring for my ruby beads? I figured I would either have to heat soak them in the banger at a high temp or perhaps boil them in distilled water? I really don't want to torch them, and have OCD that relates to using chemical cleaners . Thanks in advance for any tips!

I use ISO (even just the wipes) and they always come clean. Also use warm water with some baking soda on a wet paper towel to do a more thorough cleaning. The beauty of the ruby is not only how well they work but also how easily they clean!

Extremely satisfied with the speed, quality of product and service.
Thanks for hooking me up @710Coils

The quartz is thick and the cut on it is so clean, same with the welds. Really high quality.
If I had to critique there's some very small bubbles/marks.
These seem so minor and are nothing i'm particularly concerned about and might just be dust or something that would come off with a wash.

I love the opaque bottom, it makes what i'm hitting so much easier to see, same with clean up.

Also 30mm is an absolutely perfect size, it's just a beast.

The coil is also just fantastic quality, the axial makes a huge difference compared to the generic chinese barrel I had previously (that ended up breaking).

Haven't tried the terp balls yet, quite curious.
May actually come back down the line to pick up an insert and a carb cap.

I don't know much about ruby, I've been lead to believe that sapphire is supposed to be great though.

Currently still trying to find the right temp but what I've tried on the 30mm axial has been great so far.
Currently on 500f (260c) which might even be on the low side but is still giving great hits!
I will admit I don't know so much about correct dab temps for bubble.

Get a cap, trust me. They work so well together.

I'm actually being ghetto and using a nail dome inverted as a carb cap, totally does the trick though and fits great.

@MGG I agree with @twoleftfeet that having a good cap makes the difference in the overall performance and flavor. When you have a good ball cap, you get the perfect amount of restriction while having fluid rotation. It will also help milk up the dab and give you great flavor production in the process

Hit me up if you want one of my clear caps and I will see what I can do on a discount =)

25mm axial coils are showing a Friday delivery!!!!! So anyone thats been waiting should get their gear shipped out the same day the coils land

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week

I tried a ball cap from a different glass company. Mainly because I wanted something to match my black rig, but it was also half the price. Which was also appealing to me. It works. But not as well as a Quartz Pi . So even though Im a bit of a cheapskate, I now have two Quartz Pi caps. They function that well that i can't imagine being without one.

Questions for you low temp folks, I see many in the 500's and even some users below 500.

At these temps, how many pulls does it usually take for you to efficiently vaporize your material? Understandably there is some waste at the bottom that gets let go into aqtip, but I'm finding my settings slightly higher so I can get everything in 2 draws. I find taste plummets after my second lungful.

Low temp vaping is ALL about flavor, but I do find there is a limit if you don't want to be sucking on a dab after it has been boiling off at 560 for two minutes.

they say im crazy but i have a good time
...i dab like i vape herb, i gotta do it in one hit.... maybe two but usually one...

...i love flavour and effect and imo one hit at a time IS the way to go... i cant sit puffin on the same bowl/dab for 5 min :puke:

...when i combusted, joints exception, everything was able to do in one hit, second hit always tasted like shit!

Different coils can be different too ... worth keeping that in mind. Using an IR gun to measure floor temp is invaluable in achieving consistent result across different coils, PIDs, and bangers/inserts.

I tend to go for a starting floor temp of about 495 on my 25mm ruby insert, as that results in a floor temp of ~465 after dropping on my dab ... and I find this to be about right for me.

My one coil I set at 495 for this, and my other at 535. There’s also some variation based on ambient temp as well as if there is a breeze from my garage heater in the winter or through the window in the summer ... my thicker bottom banger also takes an extra couple minutes to get to temp, but doesn’t overshoot the temp in the insert, whereas with my slightly thinner bottom one, it overshoots and I have to wait for temp to stabilize.

Anyways ... just thought I’d ramble for a bit to show just how necessary that IR gun is :)

I've been loving my 30mm ruby insert so far. The heat retention of that thing is amazing, and the flavor is fantastic.

@JCat is spot on about the importance of an IR gun, and the environmental factors around the banger. It's hot as hell in Texas, and I have a ceiling fan going on high near the banger. I have a higher set temp to get my desired floor temp.

JCat, what emissivity do you set your IR gun to? I've set mine to .86. The only thing I could find for corundum was on this table as 'Emory Corundum'.

I set my controller to 515, and that gets me a floor temp on my insert of about 430-440. I still use 2 - 5mm ruby pearls in the insert. Partly out of habit, partly because I like them! I'll need to experiment more with just the insert and no pearls.

I finish my dab in one or two lungfuls. I'm not taking massive dabs, I'd generally rather take multiple smaller dabs than one large dab. I don't ever weigh my dabs, but they're generally like a small grain of rice.

@MGG like others have said, you're going to notice a major difference with a proper ball cap. And with a 30mm ruby insert coming your way too, you're more than set!

And the ruby insert is super easy to maintain so far. I just do 1 or 2 dry qtips after every dab, and at the end of the evening I just drop it into my Simple Green container (after it's cooled down!). The next day, any grime just rinses right off and it's good to go again!

I haven't timed it exactly, but it takes the insert a solid 15 minutes to come back down to room temp when I turn my controller off. I have to remember to do it a little before I'm ready to go to bed!

It takes me about 3-4 draws to finish a dab at 515, but I take globs. I need to break that habit and take smaller dabs though. I could get 6 pulls of the size dab im doing now, i just dont like the taste after 3-4
