Discontinued Ghost MV1

YES! this is true, slow is the way to go. I went to a friends house pool party to show him my new ghost mv1 so i put in a fresh crucible and let him take the first 2 draws he got it! First try, very nice vapor! I think he got it so quick because he owns a firefly 2, the draw is similar. I took the third hit. Wow! I blew out the biggest cloud yet! He was shocked, at what the ghost mv1 was producing. He fell in love with my ghost mv1! He is gonna let me borrow his firefly 2 to compare. Looks like my friend is gonna pick up a ghost mv1 now. This is an awesome device.

So I have a question for you guys who are done with your learning curve and like most of us, have multiple vapes. Now that you can achieve the potential of your MV1, what kind of material do you find yourself reach for it most often for? Your dessert strains? CBD strains? High thc strains? For instance, I reach for my vapcap for cbd strains because the extraction is so great! I reach for mighty for lower thc strains since I’m likely to be sitting there for a while taking multiple rips. I’m thinking either dessert strains or high thc strains are gonna be what I reach for MV1 for since it excels in taste and effects are so strong for the small amount of material that you use. Thoughts?

@Mr420, when you say 'flip crucible around,' you mean rotate 180°? What is the point?

For me, I could never do level 5 as level 4 is as hot as I can handle.
Rotating it 180 degrees and replacing it back in and hitting it on 428 will yield one nice fluffy cloud. I am assuming it’s because there’s a certain hotspot which leaves part of the crucible not fully vaporized. This is a better method to stirring which I find to be a pain in the ass.

I’ve ended up just leaving mine at 428 all the time.
I was doing 410 all the time, getting tired of having to step up through all the different temps.
It works well that way, but I just went back to level 2 and 3, and it is so much more enjoyable.

If there was a way to automate the step-ups, that would be great. A set-and-forget type of settings.
First at level 1.
Then level 2
and so on.

Maybe call it a stepping-session or something.

It's not that it is difficult to manually step up, but automation is so useful.

This is EXACTLY what I was going to suggest! Seems it’s something that could be added to a future firmware update. Bit could be soooo useful! An auto step-up mode!

The cooling tech on the Ghost MV1 is potentially the best on the market for a instant convection portable. Smooth, with minimal flavor loss.

Really do love everything about this vape asside from maintenance of the bowls and lids. Might need to pick up a few dozen back-ups so i can use the Ghost more with less time needed soaking bowls.

Is anyone torching the lids or doing anything special to keep the bowls clean?

12 of my crucibles and lids still look damn near new. My technique (which I developed after noticing the original 2 starting to discolor) is just to empty them as soon as possible after a session and bristle both lid and crucible off then drop them into iso. I "had" been leaving them in there until the next time I needed to refresh my "clean" pile (sometimes some of them would soak for days), but @Summer suggested this may (or may not) break the ceramic down over time. So, since then I've been trying to limit the amount of time they soak. For the record tho, none of them have shown any signs of breaking down yet, and I'm still guilty of forgetting 1 or 2 of them in there for a day now and again. However, it's been a while since any where close to a majority of my 14 crucibles/lids have been in the "dirty" pile. I enjoy staying on top of maintenance with all 3 of my vapes (IQ, PAX3, and MV1) - it pays such excellent dividends to do so. And the MV1 is such a breeze to keep in tip-top shape especially if you do it before it gets overly sticky.

Peese!

YES; finally some progress...
OK, so I start to get good sessions more often... I was pulling too hard from my MV1 and also I started to pack a little bit tighter, now I feel everything's quite much like it should, at least a lot better. I don't know if it's abot the gind so much but of coursecould be...I was using coarse grind today with good results.

Dude you are such a copy cat.....lol .....ironically I did the exact.same.thing recently...410 is good for getting to things quickly.....whereas Amber 1,2,3 get you there.slower.....this thing is so versatile!

Same here, I am experimenting with different temperatures and draws. This thing is good at all temperatures, I ran it on high temperatures towards the end of a crucible last night just to see what would happen and I was still blowing nice vapor, and it doesn't even taste bad like conduction vapes. What about the effects at high temperatures? wow! I was feeling very nicely medicated, loving the mv1. What's also so great about the mv1 is my wife is not complaining at all about harshness even at high temps. She always complains, and coughs because of the heat with my other vapes.

What's up all? Has anybody had a battery that started to get a little tighter than the rest when taking in and out from the MV1? I have one that just started to seem tighter today. It still registers as full and so far has performed normally through 1 session. Should I be concerned?

Cheers!

So you give them a quick iso bath after every bowl? I guess this is needed, because even if one or two holes on the lid are clogged up performance drops a ton. This is exactly what i was trying to avoid, but it does seem necessary.

I guess i just need a little container with a lid to pop these into soak up real quick and another dozen or so bowls. Would be fun to have about 20 stacked up and ready to go.

Cheers all.

Yep, that's exactly what I do. I have a small rubbermaid container that might hold two or three shots of liquid that has a snap-on lid. I just keep it about halfway filled with ISO and drop crucibles into it. if there is some that have already been soaking at a time that I'm dropping a new one in, I will pull those ones out and just let them drip dry on a paper towel before putting them back into my clean pile. I also continue to reuse the same iso until it looks dirty.

Disclaimer: My wife works for Ghost Vapes.

@IAmKrazy2 - I use alcohol wipes on the lids after a few bowls. In fact, I use those wipes a lot more now instead of just a bottle of ISO. I went to the local drug store and bought a big box of them and use them on lots of vapes. Once I quit using alcohol for reclaim, this made life a lot easier.

Better yet, brush off the lids when they’re still warm and the problem goes away completely. And I like to use my S&B brush to jab at the holes in the lids when I forget to wipe them soon enough.

Im not sure that this vape , as well made and thought out as it is , is actually as good as all the hype as made out.

I own a Mighty, a Dynavap, a VapeXhale and have previously owned the firefly 2, the Plenty and a Crafty.

I would put the Ghost MV1 in the same catagory as the firefly 2 . Its better than the firefly 2 but for me its just doesn't make it to the top level.

7.5 out of 10.

I actually suggested this when I was in the beta coming up a year and a half - 2 years ago and at the time they said they would look in to it in a future update. We also asked for the button presses to be the other way around (hold once for temp change, twice to see battery level) but unless there’s been another update recently I don’t think this happened either

They will get you taken care.of......

Man you were right.
Bruce from customer service provided a top notch service and quickly sent a replacement and even provided paid postage labels for me to send my unit back for free despite the fact I'm an international customer.
They even let me keep my unit until I receive the replacement.
I'm quite amazed - Ghost customer service is exactly as I've heard - Amazing. I'm very pleased!

Thank you Ghost Vapes !!!

I wanted to post pics of my avb and crucible. I had hard time getting a good pic, lighting sucks. I'm still hot spotting but only sometimes. My other crucibles look mostly used, I might be able to run it a little hotter to squeeze everything out if I wanted to. It's funny with the mv1 i found out I'm really a flavor chaser i like low temp flavor, my wife likes to see clouds, so I run high temp for her. I have delete and redownload the mv1 app, it keeps crashing, I'm on a Samsung note 8.
