New portable heavy hitter vaporizer

And if you go with the Mighty & decide in the short or long run that you aren't wowed by it, it's easy to sell.

Good thought.

Been there, so fully understand the sentiment.

We'll that's the nature of the beast when it comes to vapes, you gotta compromise. :| Unfortunately, no vape has it all. For me, the Flowerpot (desktop) is perfection, but it even has a flaw - you can scold yourself severely with it if you don't pay attention. :o For portable use, the Z & the Ghost come as close to perfection as I need to be. So, I'm blessed I found 3 vapes that completely suit me.

Darn shame that time is not on your side. I wish you good luck in filling your niche.

Tell me about the ghost please.

Can you prolong a session with a single crucible using all the temps? Like 2 hits at level 1, 2 hits at level 2 etc like i do with a solo or grasshopper?
Or the extraction is too powerfull and you end a session with couple of hits even at low-mid temps?

Is the ghost consistent? Like you always have vapor? Or he needs a particular technique? How is the battery life? How many hits for charge?

Ghost is almost on the top of my list because i love on demand vape and from review this thing hits like a beast...

Much luck with your decision!

I think weedgadget.com in italy has a tubo in stock.

Besides this, i would also suggest a splinter (Z) or a Mighty...
The Splinter is quite easy to use if you stick to Wattage mode and the Mighty is VERY easy and consistant in use, don t think too much about cleaning and the Battery life is really good, plus Pass through loading.

:2c:
yeah that store has a tuboevic in stock.
how much harsher is the vapor with the short quartz tip?

I have a very stupid question, if the internal battery completely die (after years of usage), can you still use the device with the pass through? (i mean attached to the charger).

sorry for my english.

You can step-temp however you like. Sometimes I step, other times do straight level 3 & last hit on level 4. There are some that vape right through on level 4 & finish on 5, but that's too hot for my taste. The way I vape, I always get 5 draws per crucible. Your grind, weed moisture, & length of draw will effect that amount of vapor output. But even microdosing me who likes cool, slow 10 - 15 second draws is happy with the vapor density I get. I've never had a problem getting adequate, consistent vapor even using a coarse, moist grind. I don't know why some struggle. Don't know about battery life since I've never ran a battery down before recharging - remember, I'm a microdoser. I believe Vape Critic said he gets 60 hit per charge. His yt vids are posted on the thread.

Since the latest update began with the units produced around Oct - Dec. 2018, I've found the vape to be consistent & functioning very well. If you have any problems with the vape, GV's CS is excellent - amoungst the best CS there is. And remember, it's a 5 year warranty.

I suggest you start reading the thread from around the end of Oct. to form your own opinions.

i don t think so with the Mighty, it is not "real" pass through but just loads faster than running low. But you can have S&B change the Batteries for you (they charge you for that) or it is possible to do yourself...
When this time comes, the Mightx will have already paid for itself...

Ghost mv1 for sure, swappable batteries, swappable crucibles, fast charger and crucible holder is must have to enjoy this vape

Dynacap vapcap, get it in titanium, get a stash box, a simple lighter

Da vinci iq with the glass spacers is good, get the sleeve as it can get hot during summer

Milaana is good too

Sticky brick jr is a heavy hitter as well

My problem with the ghost is that if you buy another battery and fast charger and more crucibles the price become too high...

I can almost buy 2 vaporizer for that price...also the battery life is not that great and it's kinda messy to clean.

I already have a dynavap with titanium tip.

The iq is not an heavy hitter like the others and it's pure conduction without a great battery life, also it's kinda messy to clean, don't get me wrong i still like the device but it's not for me (i already have an ascent from davicni).

Sticky brick looks great but i don't want another butane torch powered device, i want something that i can use during walking with one hand.

I'm looking into the milaana but i don't particularly like unregulated vaporizer becquse i fear for some combustion...

IDK why the Mighty gets this rap as having all these parts to clean, the only thing you have to do is ISO soak the cooling unit for 10 seconds once a week or so. I don't find it taking any more effort than cleaning an Arizer stem.

I'd always recommend a desktop for people looking for a real heavy hitter though.

I used arizer stems for months without cleaning...a year before cleaning with iso.
In my country the weed is shit and with a terrible taste, i don't care if there is some marmelade in the stem, the airflow remain the same.

Is not the same with the mighty, if you don't clean the device every 1-2 week the performance are not the same.

And for my needs, dismantle and soaking different parts in a plastic bag with iso is messy enough to be a major flaw.

I know i know i'm an unreasonable lazy mofo lol.

That's disgusting... like drinking out of the same cup for a whole year.

Arizer stems let so much particulate through too which gunks them up fast. Cannot even imagine using the same one for 365 days.

I usually only clean the part when i put the weed with a brush and it's like new.
Also the weed in my country is shitty quality, even after a year the marmelade residue on the stem is not nearly what you think it is when you use high quality weed

You probably make more residues in a week than me in 6 months...

I already have an air, a grasshopper and a dynavap, i don't need another mid tier vaporizer for now, i can bring them in my trip but i want something better to use during my amsterdam trip (in my country i have ultra-shitty weed so i really want to vape good weed at least one time a year with a great and powerfull vaporizer)
The splinter and most of the 510 box are a little to big for me, also they don't seems really consistent like a mighty...i read about people who combust, people who don't have much vapor etc., I work all day and i don't have the time and patience of learning a new way of vaping with those things (again, my fault but it is what it is).

I'm studying like a crazy but every vape in my list has a deep flaw that i really don't like...

The mighty need a lot of cleaning, also not-swappable batteries.
The ghost doen't seems consistent like a mighty and the price of battery and fast charger is absurd, also it needs a lot of cleaning and battery life is not that great
The fierce lack of flavour and the vapour can be harsh without glass piece.
The boxmods are kinda complicated and too big
Every other vape is not available and i'm not sure if they can arrive to me in time
The tera is harsh and with plastic taste.

I'm going crazy lol...
That's not a bad summary of the complaints folks have with some of your choices.

I wanted to say again: the session vapes, including the Mighty, aren't the best option for flavor because they all have an herb chamber that gets hot for the entire session. If you're just talking about vapor quality generally then I think you'd enjoy the Mighty because it's easy to use and produces vapor at low temps. But it's doing that with a lot of conduction and is not on the level of a Splinter Z for flavor because it's a session vape with an entirely plastic airpath.

I have both and use both. I mainly use session vapes for sharing because on my own I prefer not to take five or ten draws in a row during a 3 to 6 minute session. With the Splinter cooling stem you full a stainless steel screen with about .1g and hit it at 30-40W depending on whether you're trying to enjoy the terps in the early hits or just going for rapid extraction. The versatility and control are features; it's incorrect to assume from reading about it that Splinter performance is inconsistent. It's a great device that you can move from one mod to another as needed, use with small or large bowls, low or high temps, with or without water. It's a beast.

If you want a straightforward experience and easy, fluffy vapor you can totally get a Mighty. The cleaning can be annoying but the whole top part (called the Cooling Unit) can be replaced eventually if need be. It doesn't compare directly to on demand devices though. It's a different thing.

It's also worth noting that the Mighty is not very efficient and you'll go through weed faster for the desired dosage than you would with some of your other options. I use my Mighty for sharing because, especially with folks new to vaping, it's idiot-proof.

Finally, your subject says you're looking for a heavy hitter and session vapes are not heavy hitters. I'd estimate I take two or three hits on a session vapor to every one hit of a convection vape like the Splinter, Lil Bud, Tubo, or Sticky Brick for a similar effect.

ok so the fact that the mighty is part conduction is one of the problem i have with the device, because i don't wanna waste my weed when i'm not hitting the vape.

some people says that the conduction is not that heavy on the mighty and you don't waste that much weed (i'm having a discussion about this argument on reddit with a guy who praise the mighty).

flavour is really not my priority because weed in my country is shit quality and i can vape good weed maybe 10 days every year during my annual trip in amsterdam.

the splinter is a bit too big for me.
also i'm still not really convinced that a box-mode vape is the way to go for me...too many variables, and i really want a simple device like a mighty\tera\fierce\ghost.

box-mode vape are exceptional devices, they have a lot of things that i like but i'm not completely sold for some reason...

for the heavy hitter thing, what you say is kinda new to me because i read a lot of review and feedback about some of the session vape on my list, and most of them are considered heavy hitters.

if you watch troy on the 420vape channel or vapecritic or sneaky pete or other reviewers, vaporizer like the mighty or the ghost or the tera are considered some of the heaviest hitter on the market.

Go with the Ghost Mv1
my list right now in order of interest:

mighty\ghost
fierce\tera
box mode

i'm studying.

i need some more feedback for tera and fierce, i'm probably gonna ask some question in the respective OT.

the fierce and tera are kinda jacks of all trade in every aspects, i'm intrigued but not really convinced.

The Fierce is a good alternative to the Mighty. Get the xl bent glass stem and put a dome screen in it to improve the draw resistance. With that setup it's like a Solo II but with Mighty draw resistance so the clouds are bigger.

When Troy or Sneaky Pete call a session vape a heavy hitter they likely mean that it extracts well and you can get big clouds from it. The Mighty, Fierce, and Tera all fit that description. What I'm saying is that if you pack .3g in a Mighty you'll have to hit it maybe fifteen or twenty times to finish it. You can vape that amount in three or four big hits in a Sticky Brick OG. I never use my Splinters for large loads (filling the whole glass joint rather than just a small basket screen), but even the .15g or so in a Splinter basket can be more of a 3-4 hit rapid extraction if that's what you want just by going high wattage/temp and stirring between hits. Session vapes are just now playing catch up with the cooling stems too.

I admire the diligent research but you really need to own these vapes and put them to work to appreciate their personalities. For example, Troy frequently reminds people that the Mighty is his all-time favorite portable but doesn't mention that the proprietary charger is annoying or that you can't even stand it up to fill it unless you buy a $15 plastic stand to stick on the bottom that somebody else had to 3D print for us because storz & bickel almost never updates their products. =P

If you want a heavy hitter (as in fewer hits to fully extract) you should limit your options to on demand convection vapes. If you want easy setup and like to take a bunch of draws in a short time period (which Troy has said is his preference) then a session vape will be more satisfying for you. I don't think Troy has even tried TC mode with his Splinters and neither he nor Sneaky Pete had paired a Splinter with a dna mod last I checked. Even finding someplace to buy a dna mod is another headache but it's worth mentioning that a Splinter Z on a DNAc mod is amazing.

you are very informative.

i want something from both worlds, session and on demand.

session because most of the times i like hitting my load for 15-20+ times from low to high temps in various step.
but not every session vape is powerfull enough to medicate me even with 20+ hits and that's why i talk a lot about power hitter.
also i like on demands because i don't want to waste my weed when i don't take a hit and i don't like to be forced by a long heat up time or a session timer, and it's the closest thing to a joint (and if i want to quit smoking i need something with a similar ritual).
sometimes i like to finish a bowl with 4-5 high temp hits but again not every session vape is powerfull enough to medicate me with those hits.

my grasshopper is kinda ideal because the form factor and sturdiness are top notch, easy of use and lack of mainteinance are great, hits like a truck at high temps, big clouds, ridicolously fast heat-up time and you can squeeze 10-12 hits from a tiny load with low to high temp session.
but the battery life is atrocious (and i have 4 batteries), the vapor is harsh as hell, the device and mouthpiece are hot and the flavour is kinda meh.

a device with all the plus of a grasshopper with better and cooler vapor quality, improved battery life, bigger load bowl where you can squeeze 15-20 hits on a session.

my solo\air are great, but they have a long glass breakeable piece, long heat up time and the airflow is bad.

firewood 5 and lilbud elite are closest to my ideal device but they are both not available at the moment.

box-mods are the second closest thing but some of them are really too big or long, and even when i find something with an acceptable form factor like the tubo evic i'm still really worried about my inexperience with box-mod, easy of use or consistency of those device (the feedback from various sorce are kinda mixed).

sorry for my english, unfortunately i can't explain myself well enough and i'm probably confusing you...thanks for your patience.

That's useful info about your habits and your experience with your current vapes.

I don't recommend the Tubo anymore because, while it's a wonderful performer, it's just a high surface area on demand vape connected to a box mod and you no longer need to spring for a Tubo price or wait time now that devices like the Splinter and Splinter Z are available that leave the mod pairing to you. Like the Tubo, the Splinters are also kinda clumsy since they use a glass stem that's even less firmly connected than your Solo.

Your added details about temp stepping would lead me to recommend the Fierce over the Mighty. One of my least favorite things about the Mighty is that it just stops producing vapor at some point and the weed isn't that dark. It also only heats to 210°C so temp stepping is less rewarding.

The plastic, silicone and glass used in the black mouthpiece for the Fierce doesn't deliver the best flavor. What it does do is make the Fierce a pocket vape with no extra pieces to carry and no exposed glass to break. The included short glass stem is pretty harsh at higher temps. The bent stem with a screen in it is how I use mine most often. If I were traveling I'd take the bent stem too and only use the black mouthpiece when I had to.

The affordable mod to get for a Splinter is the Wismec rx gen3 dual. The size is pretty ergonomic and with two Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC5A batteries it'll have decent battery life. The big heater does take a lot of juice though and that's just the price you pay for such impressive on demand convection.

I have a Lil Bud and recommend it for folks who enjoy unregulated on demand convection vaping (which I do). My one complaint is that it's never as consistent an experience for me and seems to sag as the battery drains. The Lil Bud Elite is a newer device and I've considered selling my Lil Bud and getting one. Without that as an excuse it just seems like another Splinter rival that costs fifty percent more like the Tubo.

For a heavier consumer like you I'm gonna say get a Splinter and a Wismec rx gen3 dual at some point even if you decide it's not right for this trip. Get the short and long cooling stems and the gong adapter too. There are other 510 devices but the Splinter and the Splinter Z are capable of satisfying the most demanding users and the more you explain the more it sounds like a good fit. The folks on the Splinter threads here on FC are super helpful and everyone gets up and running once they get familiar with the mod settings. And the great thing about wattage mode is you don't need to do any configuration, just hold the button down and rip.

I got two of these tubes to protect my long XL8R cooling stems for travel:

In one of my past trip to amsterdam i tried a crafty for a couple of days and i wasn't impressed by the device, and i remember something similar to you experience with the mighty (after that i returned the crafty to the store).
But everyone on the internet is crazy about the mighty so maybe is it our fault or our weed is not that good, i don't know...
I wasn't even impressed with the quality of the vapor to be honest...maybe the mighty works better.

Like i said flavour is not my priority, so if the problem with the fierce is lack of flavour from weed and not bad flavour from silicone or other things, i'm okay with that.

Same thing with the tera, do you know why people doesn't love the taste from tera?
Talking about the tera, the review on yt are very mixed...

Sneaky pete talk about istant vapour after the fast heat up and he is surprised by the amount of vapour even without glass piece, but troy in the faceoff with the mighty is not satisfied by the consistency of the tera and he likes the device only with water when you can rip the thing with long draws...

Tera and fierce are probably the 2 session vape most close to what i want, good heater power, big clouds, almost all convection , fast heat up time, good batteries life (and swappable cheap batteries).

My doubt is about quality and coolness of the vapor with those 2 devices...

The Li’l Bud Elite, Ghost MV1 and probably the Firewood seem like they might be your best options.

I know you said you don’t want to learn to deal with unregulated, but if those options aren’t quite right or you’re worried about the electronics failing over time, it may be worth learning to use unregulated because most of the smallest and most portable full convection devices are unregulated (Nomad, MVT, Milaana, Li’l Bud) and they should last a long time since there are a lot few things that can go wrong with them as long as you know how to use them (which does include switching batteries before they get extremely low).

If you decided a mod wasn’t too much to deal with, the Impcognito might be worth looking into too. It’s a 510 attachment, but made to work in a small side by side mod that would be much more manageable while walking around than a Splinter. I’d read the thread though since there may be some drawbacks like hot vapor from its short stem. It’s fairly new and I forget exactly what reports have been like so far, but the guy who makes them has been making other vaporizers for years.

If you just want to pick up something good that you can use easily from the start though, the first three I added an endorsement for should have you covered.

...or if you could go with a desktop and just use what you have when you’re out, a FlowerPot or Herborizer are great convection options!

You posted as I was writing this, and the Fierce does seem like a pretty good option too, just not the one I’d choose and I think it’s probably more comparable to the Mighty than something like the MV1 or Elite. I could be wrong there though.

I’ll skip commenting on the Tera since I’m not sure how it is after its rough start.

I am a brand new mv1 user here, coming from a davinci iq. I am totally happy with my mv1, easy to load a bunch of crucibles, if you inhale slow and low you get consistent clouds. I have been using mine consistently everyday since I got it. convection is awesome so pure, great flavor, vapor in not never harsh, quick heat up plus you don't waste your herb. if you stop midway through a crucible, you can jump back on it an hour later, or even the next day, still taste the same, very nice! I cant really complain about anything with mv1. only complaint I have is that they should include the crucible holder and fast charger in the box all the time, not just during a sale, or at lease make the battery and charger a lot cheaper way too expensive in my opinion for what it is. IMO those accessories are a must with the mv1. I have a dynavap vapcap "m" 2019 as back up, but I haven't had a chance to try it. my friend is supposed to let try his firefly 2, but he doesn't like it, he liked my mv1 much more. I am dying to try a grasshopper this looks like the vape james bond would carry.

I have a dynavap vapcap "m" 2019 as back up, but I haven't had a chance to try it. my friend is supposed to let try his firefly 2, but he doesn't like it, he liked my mv1 much more. I am dying to try a grasshopper this looks like the vape james bond would carry.
Yeah the grasshopper is the ultimate stealth device.

I really like the mv1 but in europe with an additional battery, fast charger and additional crucible the price is really high.
For the same money i can buy a tera and a mighty.
