Today I found my sd card actually could still manage to randomly boot sometimes. I tried using Clonezilla again tonight and it was still having errors (with a dirty bit and free blocks not matching) and failing to write the image. The image was able to finish successfully once I finally let it fix both of the errors. I still couldn't get Clonezilla to try and write to any of my local drives like it did the first couple times I tried it, but it did work with an extra usb thumb drive. I then wrote this image to my new SD card and now my HN-01 is working again!

So I am having this same no coil issue since using Scalescliffs' image to recover my broken HN-01.

Since I have a full copy of his shared image, I used etcher to flash the SD Card with this shared file and it appears to be successful in creating a new SD Card copy. FYI, I didn't do anything with Clonezilla yet. Etcher was giving error messages when selecting the clonezilla .zip file to write to my usb flash drive, so I attempted to play around with etcher to see if a flash to the SC card directly with my copy would suffice.

I was able to load the new flashed SD Card into my HN01. It booted up correctly and made to the UI page but it appears to not detect my coil. What helped you fix yours, did you end up making a successful copy from your original SD card given with your HN01 or did you successfully copy Scalescliffs's image and make it work correctly for you? Please help.

If you cherish your HN-01, I highly recommend you make a copy of your SD card before it takes a crap. I've tried etcher and win32 diskimager to accomplish this task. Both programs copied successfully to clone my original SD card(probably corrupted already) and Scalecliffs's image.

Upon troubleshooting, I am receiving the same errors and issues with the new cloned cards. I think the read/write to the new cards is successfully but most likely have the wrong data/software needed to fix the issues.

I will wait to see if @JigMelon comes up with a fix for hn01.

I was likely a bit confused at the time, but I found my problems were from two different things going on. My HN-01 not booting was the card issue, which hasn't had any booting problems since repairing its errors. I think the problem with mine not seeing the coil was a bug due to some settings getting changed. I had set my coil type to "none" for a little while trying that out, but somehow my temp tracking also got switched to nail, instead of coil like it always was (not something I had intentionally changed, but must have hit it by accident). With that setting combo the unit will only display the internal temperature (it is set to display/track nail temp, but also thinks there is no nail). Meanwhile it will actual be driving the coil to the max like it thinks the temperature which it is now displaying will reach the set point. So don't actually leave a coil plugged in with it like that or it will be glowing red pretty fast.

I messed with all the settings, can't seem to get it to detect the coil or turn it on at all. Everything seems to work, I can connect to my wifi, mirroring works via chrome. Just the dang coil will not connect/detect. Wonder if its the sensor that may vary within the units. I double checked all the files contained on the card that I could read side by side of my SC Cards and all files seem to match, nothing stands out. I thought there may be a setting or file to tweak but I'm stumped at this point.

Time to take a break.

This year has been pretty crazy for me and I haven't had time to keep up with the drama of the Hex Nail since I received mine in March. I've pretty much just turned it on and used it with the same settings since I got it. Today I was trying to change settings and cannot connect to it. I don't have the original instructions so I can't even figure out how to access the unit directly without it being in the WiFi network.

I came to this forum to see if I could figure it out and found pages about how everything has changed at Hex Nail. I read a few dozen posts but don't want to spend hours catching up.

What I really want to know is...

How do I get my HN-02 working again?

Is it possible to set it up or update software anymore? If I can't connect to the network, how do I restore to factory settings and join my WiFi network again?

Any help is much appreciated!

They shut down the server, so your only option right now is AP-only, unless you make some local dns changes. To do so you'll need to flash a new image to your SD card (backup first, or use a new card). You can find a tut here:

Sorry I've been MIA everyone; my issue in Nov was caused by a medication I take daily, and it took me quite a while before I was completely functional on a new medication. I needed to adjust my priorities for a bit so I could keep my job through the transition lol

I haven't done any research or work over the past 5-6 weeks, but I will be making some progress over the next week on a new release for users with official hardware. I'll make a new post when I have something to share.

Mines all fine and working just the issue with the constant blinking light aka DABRAVE haha
If anyone needs help with there HN-02 just gimme a shout, i even broke one of my components while trying to find the sd card slot and clean up the amount of unnecessary hotglue inside, but ordered the other part and installed all working good for past few months! :D

I followed all of JigMelon's steps, but I can't see my network no matter how many times I refresh in the wifi setup, and I can't get the webapp page to load anything at all. Any tips? Help!

Probably but meh theres better enails out there now, I got a max vapor enail after the hexnail died and love it! Very easy to use, everything I wanted in the hexnail, bluetooth wifi and a display, it's a very solid unit and the customer service has been great. Plus with how bad the customer service was with hexnail I would stay away. Maybe after a few people try it and say it's good I'll get one but most likely I would get another max vapor with a custom paint job

If either of the Hex folks are involved, I would stay as far away as possible.

No money ever exchanged hands (to my knowledge / to my hands; after I left, different story maybe) but an investment in parts for units may have been made. Those parts are now (seemingly) being used for the Hedi Vape.

Shame on you , this forum is a platform about vaporizers . Not a place to air out your feelings or throw your Ex under the bus. If anything you are giving hedivape some publicity. You put out a really cool product that many of us invested in and than left many just hanging . I know I myself messaged you on instagram when the company went under with some issues and got the cold shoulder and no reply . Sorry you had to go through some tough times , I have feelings too but this is just wrong imo . Be the mature 1 and leave your personal business at home .

Just had my Hex Nail freeze up. Walked into the room and the coil was glowing red hot and the unit screen was frozen. Hopefully my coil isn’t ruined. Looks like it may have just started to happen.
