Hey Guys I just posted on the impcognito thread, question? Just got the impcognito today, flashed the new artic fox firmware , put in mistvape settings in the artic fox thing and before I fire this up , how would I lock my resistance now . When I press the fire button with the up button ( how it says to lock resistance on pico before I downloaded the articfox)it just goes to the menu . Try and steer me in the right direction, I know I need to lock the resistance

Up + fire to access menu
Select the top choice in the menu > press fire
Use up and down to highlight Coil > press fire > use up and down to adjust the resistance > press fire when done and it will lock automatically if you've changed anything (the padlock will change)

Or
From the main menu access the edit function with however many clicks you have set in settings>clicks to do that (I like it set at 3 clicks)
In edit mode you press fire to move between fields and long fire to exit
Use fire to navigate to the set resistance field > press up or down to toggle lock

To zero the resistance memory
Access the profile select function via the number of clicks you have set to do that in settings>clicks (I have that set to 4 clicks)
Hold Up and down to reset the memory

Which settings? Running tcr or pid?
Basically if you are running tcr you want to increase the value to maker it hotter.
I'm not sure of pi values as i haven't run in that mode

Running TCR...

If I increase the temperature should I change the resistance value? Currently at .230

Leave the resistance, lock it at the cold resistance level .23 sounds about right.
Increase the tcr value by 5 or 10 at a time and look at the coil while you fire, make sure it doesn't glow red. If it doesn't glow try to vape. Repeat until you find the sweet spot. Around 120 should be good but you may have to go higher.

Ok so I set tcr to 190 and the temperature I will adjusted until I found the one that I like...and I should increase TCR by 5 or 10 when?

Thanks, I'm getting some monsters rips right now while enjoying a nice cup of coffee

Thanks to @mistvaporizer and @deadlytoaster

What type of grind do you recommend?

A medium-fine, mostly even grind seems to work the best in my experience. I can get many good hits that way without stirring, going 300F to 420F (would need to start to avoid center hotspot and get the most from the sides of the bowl)
Glad you're up and running!

Running mine on the P80 using sur_myevic, have my tcr set to 198 and I get perfect chocolate brown avb at 205c. I find if I slightly twist the stem every few hits I get nice even roasting. Very much enjoying the smooth, tasty vapor this thing puts out.

I love this vape. I almost gave it away. The first time I tried it I pretty much charred my throat on my first and only inhale. I was told that I had it set too high but just didn't want to risk that again. I finally decided to try it one more time at a better setting before I sent it out.
No combustion but so smooth that I barely feel any irritation. It's so much milder than any of my other vapes but still delivers huge clouds.

What settings are you using on what mod? It is much different than the splinters, would never go near that level in wattage mode, but the imp also works so well in temp control. It was easy to set up and now it works like a mini tubo! Love my Impcognito on AsterRT with AF!

I've been using different mods but, since my iheat problem, am planning on stopping that. Probably will use the p80 with my imp. My other mods are 2 or 3 battery and I prefer using a 1 battery. What do you like about the AsterRt?

So do you not have temp control setup for your Imp? As Kero mentioned there's really no reason to use wattage here...

Correct the AsterRT will only work with the impcognito, since it is a side by side mod. And that is what I love about it, it keeps everything much more compact, not super tall like other mods. It also has two batteries, 4000mAh, so it lasts a long time without recharging. The batteries are internal, which I actually like, much simpler than replacing dual batteries. I like the button and ergonomics better than my P80, even better than the G3D probably, and the new ArcticFox software is pretty nice... CuboidMini with Tubo was good, but this is a better set up for me with Impcognito, a near perfect portable.

Just needs some dimpled cooling stems - I much prefer those to the beads, but I think the Impcognito produces relatively cool/tame vapor compared to other convection portables, even with the shorty stem.

Aster RT with the new AF when dialed in is just unbeatable. Crushing bowls in two 1-minute cruises... so nice.

So I would need the impcognito- it doesn't work with the imp?
I know that I seem stupid with those of you who grew up with tech but I've never figured out AF. My mods are only set up if they work with tubo software because FJ's instructions and settings were so clear. And that's only the evic besides the tubo itself.

Correct, Imp deck is the same, but the Impcognito has a special smaller mini body to fit side-by-side mods like the AsterRT. You can order an Impcognito body for your Imp without having to buy a whole nother vape btw

You don't seem stupid, this is all just very complicated! Tubo works well with the Imp too, if the mod is compatible, but I had to put surmyevic on my G3D. My P80 was stock and now that I am used to Arctic Fox I think I will try to get that on there... I don't know how you would get temp control setup with any stock firmwares though.

I didn't know anything about this stuff before these vapes either, I was able to set up Arctic Fox following mistvape's instructions and have relied on others here to help set up all of my mods for myself. It is kind of a hassle dealing with them, which is why I hadn't set up the P80 yet until still not switched my G3D, why I never tried to figure out TC for my splinters with them yet either.

Search online for NFE Tools
through NFE you install AF to your mod
it's not too complicated , and nobody is stupid ofc ;)
These are just technical steps, everything is ok
