That’s disappointing. I asked for a custom serial before the deadline. Hope I get the black one. Don’t really want a white one. Probably just end up selling it if it’s the all white version.

I know I was hoping for the all-black version. I let them know I was told last week that Beta customers would get the all black and ship with the rest on 7/10. Even got confirmation 2 days ago on 7/9. But i decided to wait a couple of days and I get different news today.

I have a feeling that the all white didn't sell as much, I just wish it didn't change last minute.

Are all beta users getting the white Magna Carta?
From what I was told today, yes, that is the case. Which would be next week.

Damn that shit is gonna get wrecked, looks like I need to order the black one today. That white is gonna look horrible with sauce stains lol
Absolutely right lol my regular base is already stained on the white parts. I may just fully wrap the all-white base

Just spoke with CS through Instagram and they stated that Beta customers will be receiving the all white Carta, which will be in next week. The beta customers that had custom serial engraving on the all black Carta are the ones that got shipped out.

Mine is custom engraved and was confirmed by Randall here on FC via PM. Still no shipping notification.

Hi, This is my first post here so please forgive me if I make errors. I am ready to purchase a Focus V Carta but have a couple questions:
1.) If I purchase from a local retailer here in Las Vegas will Focus still warranty the product as if it were purchased direct? By buying locally I can support a local business and get the product faster so this is the option I'd like to follow but I don't want to give up mfr warranty by purchasing locally.
2.) If purchased locally and warranted by manufacturer (Focus V), how will I know I'm getting the V2 model or does it really matter? I called a local store (Planet 13) that lists the item as in stock and they said they have it but they can't tell me if they are selling the first version or the second version. P13 also claims they can't open the box to check the serial number for verification of V1 or V2. I'd prefer to get the version two due to what has been described as connection issues to the app that seem to be mostly avoided with V2.

If you are talking about the beta unit that came out before final release unit there are a couple visual differences. The glass on the 1st unit is curved inward towards the top. The glass on the final release isn’t curved towards the top. The atty on V1 is a lot shorter too.

It doesn’t seem to matter who you buy it through. They have been honoring warranties when bought through 3rd parties.

As I was reading your post, I had no idea what you were talking about, all three of my standard glass pieces were just cleaned and in front of me......then I scrolled down and saw the picture!

I don't know which is which anymore, but they're all the same, no-taper straight.

Are they all cut the same, mine are.

Did anyone else with the Helix replacement piece notice a large increase in resistance from the original?

I realize it had seal issues, but the drag difference is major. The new, properly sealing piece is a lung workout, and looking at it you can see all the air holes are pin pricks compared to the first. Just wondering if I got an off piece?

If I had known a custom serial number was the difference between a black unit vs all white one, I'd a given him something! But I really feel like an ass for complaining.

Not just you. I have one of the original beta helix f-bomb domes and I can't use it. Unless I want to collapse my lungs from the insane draw resistance.

Since I preordered thru dab labs for my beta I always seem to be last on anything lol. I'll probably have to email and remind them
I originally pre-ordered through dab labs as well. I usually get the stuff on time. But no shipping info yet. I hope we get all black units. If not im gonna wrap my white as well

I got my 3rd Carta on Tuesday to fix the issue where the ceramic would get red hot. While it happened with the 3rd one today.


I'm starting to think it is related to the iOS App. I have been babying this thing since it's the 3rd one warrantied and end up with the same issue.

How is the Carta on the right shiny my v1 and the v2 unit I received have the similar matte coating on the outside.

Warranty should be covered make sure you get a receipt. The v1 units were beta units and can not connect to the app at all. v2 units corrected some of the v1 issues and introduced the app. You may or may not have issues connecting to your phone with the newest model

If they cant tell you if its a v1 or v2 ask when they received the shipment of them. If it was april or after than its most likely the newer model.

If its a v1 though that would technically make you a “beta tester” and you could possibly be entitled to the upgrades the beta users are getting such as the newer model replacement as well as the limited edition model. Essentially 3 carta for the price of 1. Wishful thinking

Yeah IG support said I wasn't even put on the list even though I sent a PM as requested with my engraving...

IG is saying they're not to sure on what they can do that have to talk to Randal so anyone who didn't receive a shipping notification may have to get in touch with him.

@FocusV let us know whenever you get back around and on the forum!

Same here, gave custom serial to Randal and he said was ok. I also had to email them for all the beta shit. Never got a repair kit. The dry atomizer request was annoying. I emailed them about the beta dry atomizer so they said they would send it. They sent a dab atty instead. Emailed them again, they say they will resend. Got another dab atty again. Emailed them again, they said would send another. Got a dry herb atty on the 3rd request but, it was defective so I just gave up on it.

It’s been pretty annoying dealing with them lately.

It seems to me Beta users have taken the back burner on his list and all the IG influencers and glass artist and people with social media presence are receiving more love now.

Hell the shop I work at got the Dry Herb atomizer before I did and I'm a Beta buyer I was supposed to get it before retail I had thought.

I'm getting peeved seeing all the Black Magna kits showing up on the IG story and such.

What was the point of sending out that new account form on the website to get the Beta Users mailing address if you don't even use that list of people!

Don't get me wrong I am not bashing or hating on anything I love my Carta and enjoy it immensely and customer support has been great and is great when he is around and able to reply I know that his product has expanded beyond just him and his partner, I just need to be patient and wait for a response if he is overseas again.

I am glad he was able to bring a team of people on and all of that but just a bit upset it seems like Beta users are coming in last instead of first now.

Same boat. That said, I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt here. Randall is over seas, so likely just some sort of mix up...that said, if any ends up with a magna with the serial CARTACREW#1, let me know...ha!

how do i connect this thing to the app? i just cant seem to connect it thru Bluetooth and there are ZERO instructions anywhere online as far as I can tell....
Might have a bad base, turn on the carta then start the app, if it doesn't connect send it back

Yea, that video is of the stock setting 2, no app used.

This is the same thing that happened to the last unit. I had and warrantied with. It's just odd that it happened again after 30 dabs this time. I didn't do anything that could have effected it. The only correlation is that the iOS app is doing something. I can't say for sure, I'm waiting to hear back from the CS if they were able to look at my previous unit.

I have high hopes as it worked well, just I have bad luck and this doesn't surprise me if it's just being unlucky to get 3 bad units.

SO, while awaiting my new Carta because of non-connectivity and atomizer problems, I bought a repair kit from FocusVape and a new atomizer. This kit came in super fast within like 3 days. I repaired my atomizer with np and it worked! While still needing warranty for non-connectivity, I was able to use it manually UNTIL last night. I did a dab. Sooo good. Then went to hit it again and no joy. So I thought "OMG atomizer AGAIN?" and looked to see an issue with that repaired atty. Looks fine so tried the new atty and still no joy. Thankfully my new Carta for warranty should arrive today after it's slowmail delivery. Still, this leaves me with wondering what the heck happened? The unit had nothing different in it, around it, or to do with it, from one dab to the next just one minute it heated up, the next, cold atty. I've read about a few people now with 3 and 4 units already from warranty. I am REALLY glad they are taking care of warranties but I hope it doesn't beggar the company so no more Cartas. :(

Had to warranty claim mine for non-connectivity. I was set an entirely brand new unit told to only ship the base back, paid shipping all around. The new unit connects beautifully! Very pleased with the support and response times :)

maybe the atty was never broken? might be a loose connection where you screw in the atomizer that's being "iffy".

Wrong thread, but im pretty sure the cartas airpath is stainless steel/silicone. it doesnt looks great though it looks like they took a hand drill and drilled a hole through it. one of the buckets is titanium but theyre swappable.

Moving this from the Peak's thread. Pretty interested in the Carta as an alternative to the Peak (for many reasons) and was looking to pick one up but saw @maxvapor710 had sold theirs because it has "Chinesium" (chinese titanium?) in its airpath. I also saw they'd had trouble with the app pairing but that was months ago so hopefully that's been addressed. The open source firmware they're developing for the Peak is also a cool plus in my eyes, is there anything like that with the Carta?

Mr. Bonsai from IG just released some quartz inserts for the carta and peak along with ruby and sic terp pearls. Just ordered them, the quartz inserts look a lot thicker than the stock inserts.
