Sooo finallyy its my turn!!:) :) :) yesterday did the confirmation order and couldn't stop thinking if 14mm is the correct choice for me. maybe its possible to buy a 15mm coil replacement, for change it if it is not the right one? Or in next versions of the product an easychange conector so you can change between the 14mm for wax, shatter... and the 15/16mm for the flowerrrss in a fast wayy, could be very nicee.!

14mm or 16mm m.....to be or not to be??? anywayyy, I know this summer the ooutdoorr vape sessions are going to be LEGENDARY!!

Hi all,

Wow - I just realized that it's been almost two weeks since I last posted to this thread!

Hi! I should give you folks an update.

In short: Since switching to the new MOSFETs, things at Fluxer have been quiet, calm, and stable. The new MOSFETs are working as expected.

There have been a couple of post-sales issues that I've needed to address, but only a couple. I have been able to focus my time on building new heaters, which everyone appreciates

I have been building out a variety of heaters using the newly available external switch, LED, and battery meter options, a few of which I'll show off at the end of the post. People have also requested some novel variations, too - like the "no front panel LED" unit shown below, and an "all blue LEDs" unit - and I will try to accommodate these requests when possible.

And speaking of which, here's more about those two configurations. Feel free to request them if they interest you:
  • No front panel LED/under glass LEDs only. (At this time that also means omitting the built-in battery meter)
  • All blue LEDs, for a chiller vibe. Blue "power on" front panel LED. When the heater is activated, blue under glass LEDs light up. If you choose a battery meter w/this option, it will use the single blue front panel LED, which will get weaker with battery voltage and go dark at what would be the "red LED only" transition point if a red LED were present
I expect to have more variations in the future.

Flux Deluxe Waiting list, building new heaters, etc.: Production is back in full swing! (Such as that is.) I am working my way through the waiting list, which is fortunately/unfortunately quite long. I am attempting to build and ship two heaters per day, or about 50 heaters per month. So far, this pace seems sustainable, but we will see how it goes. Much depends upon these things working correctly, so...let's all hope they continue to do that.

I have made several improvements to my build process that have shaved real time from building these devices, while also improving their overall quality. Chief among these improvements is a drilling jig I made for drilling the cases. I will show this off in a future post.

New Dark Green case color: When it comes to case colors, I am at the mercy of my case vendor, as I can only offer the cases he has for sale. He, in turn, is at the mercy of his suppliers in China. The supplier in China has changed the formulation for the Dark Green anodizing as follows:

IMG-8295-private.jpg

The previous Dark Green was more Olive Drab. The current Dark Green is more Forest Green. The current Green is shown for completeness.

I have a few of the old Dark Greens left, and plenty of the new ones on hand. If your turn comes up soon and you want one or the other, please let me know when I reach out to you to confirm your order. For most of you, the middle color will be the Dark Green color that will be available to you, so please plan accordingly.

Pictures: These posts are always better with some pictures, so here's some recent Fluxer eye candy:

Cherry case w/small logo, orange oil finish, and external switch:

Thanks, everyone, for your continues support! I hope everyone is having a great Fourth of July, wherever you are!

I will be sending out more emails today and tomorrow for the next cohort of Flux Deluxes.

Cheers,

Can I call dibs on that Cherry? I'M IN LOVE

pxl_jockey

Just a dude
Yeah well, if mr_c rolls out a Black Walnut FD that’s highly figured, no external switch/LED- under glass LED, I hereby declare exclusive dibs in perpetuity! That cherry is super sexy no doubt but I’m gonna let you guys wrestle over it. Love the new dark & regular greens; that pic of the red unit from @Moses Baca is hot! I really like the anodised finishes on these boxes tbh, all of them, and they all seem to wear well.

Not had a lot to add to the conversation here lately but had to stake my claim to the first fancy BW FD once I saw where @MothChewMoth was taking things! Lol :D! But seriously, it’s mine... :goon:

Well done Mr_C and thank you for the update.

Personally speaking it’s the black one that really floats my boat. I like it without the front LED too, although I would value the battery meter quite highly so that would be a tough decision. I think that I’m still quite far down the waiting list so hopefully the ever resourceful Mr_C will have worked out a way to let me have my cake and eat it by the time my turn comes around.

"I'm on it,
@Fat Freddy! I can't say anything else just yet, but trust that I took your request for wood to heart and am actively (!!!) exploring some solutions. Have some faith and be patient, as "this art stuff" takes a little time, lol. But you won me over, and after I work through the details of the initial release, (which will be housed entirely in sturdy metal), I expect to offer a version with some nice wooden feature(s). :D"

How about a pic of that baby lit up @Fat Freddy?

Yea second that... light her up.
How would the wooden case stand up do an accidental drop on a hard floor?

The one pictured isn't @Fat Freddy's , so he probably can't get it to light up. I think he was just happy to see that I had finally acted on his request: He mentioned that he wanted to see it in wood about 40 pages back in this thread, so it's nice to finally have something to show off. ;)

@lookhigh , I don't think it would take a fall very well - the walls are only ~3mm thick and the boxes are routed from single blocks, so they look good but they certainly aren't bulletproof. A harder polyurethane finish would offer more protection, but I'm not setup to do those sorts of finishes at this time.

By the way, this is the price breakdown for the cherry cases:
  • Unfinished cherry, no logo or art work US$30; hand rubbed orange oil finish: +$5
  • Unfinished cherry enclosures with a custom Fluxer logo starting US$40; hand rubbed orange oil finish: +$5
  • Unfinished cherry enclosures with custom, laster etched artwork supplied by you starting at US$65 additional; hand rubbed orange oil finish: no charge, if desired.
Note: You may only use works for which you control the intellectual property rights - no 3rd party logos or characters, etc.

Thanks for your interest. I hope that info helps.

Just wanted to say thanks to @mr_cfromcali. VERY happy to support his excellent work. My gun metal, 15mm coil, external switch, battery meter IH is working amazingly. For my usage, the batteries seem to last a long time. Game changing for me, and Mr C was so responsive and helpful to this IH newb :nod:

My time has now come and just confirmed my choices and ordered! May have to get straight back on the list for a maple one or maybe if it’s still in the works the motherfluxer.

One thing I would like is for it (probably morherfluxer) to somehow integrate the feeder mechanism from https://vapefiend.co.uk/products/dynavap-feeder and maybe a small attached avb jar so you could fill, heat and empty all from one unit. Just an idea, no idea how possible it actually is

That cherry is gorgeous! It looks like if may even be slightly thinner, are my eyes deceiving me?
Apparently, yes you're eyes are deceiving you:
...I am happy to announce that the Flux Deluxe will soon be available in at least one new case option: cherry...
IMG-7291-private.jpg

Shown alongside a standard FD. I don't have the external measurements at hand, but the cherry case is a bit longer and wider than the standard case. The two cases are the same height, however, and the new one fits in the same storage bag at the standard FD...

My fluxer has finally arrived. First impression, sleek, classy, thoughtful. The magnets are very strong, the whole package screams premium. Look and feel. My vapcaps stand at attention on all 4 corners. Very nice touch. Had I known of blue lights, that's the only change I'd make. I went with simplistic design. Black case. No on light, no open on switch. No battery metre. No top mounted dial. Red light button..

I was all in on all the bells n whistles, but when I thought about it and truly considered all the factors, none of those bells were necessary for me. Further, upgrades cost money. The price of a fluxer is reasonable but for us Canadians, add two or three upgrades, check the conversion rate, and see it can become rather pricey...

Performance. First impression.. 15mm coil. This badboy heats faster than my PSM. I combusted on my second go waiting for the second click. It heats at a pace whereas the second click is almost instantaneous with the first... Off the bat i found it a little strange adapting from psm. The heating/vapor profile was so different I intuitively switched to the dip n sip method which I never got accustomed to with psm. Strange. I've enjoyed my sessions so far, my successive dips are literally about 2 seconds or less, provides nice dense vapor. While FD heats aggressively, it doesn't hurt my throat. It's still a 'soft' vapor. Maybe why I intuitively started dipping n sipping? To easier control vapor production and get bigger hits without combusting?

Back to testing. Cheers

@mr_cfromcali thank you very much sir. A very well made product.
