I got my FF2+ yesterday and will be writing more when I have spent a little more time with it but I am so excited about it that I had to post immediately.

The two major improvements that I was interested in are both great! The battery lasted a long time! I’m not sure how long the original and FF2 batteries lasted when brand new but I remember being disappointed because they died before I was done having my first night with the vapes. Last night, I used the FF2+ for several bowls and the battery never died. That’s a huge good sign.

The bigger holes in the screen make the airflow less restricted and it is very easy to inhale. This is important because a lot of people vape because they have sensitive lungs. I had a hard time with the original and FF2. I felt like I had to prepare my lungs to do hard work when taking a hit. I love the vape so I just got used to it but the FF2+ is so easy to draw a hit from. It was so easy that I was actually drawing too hard and fast in my first hits and it wasn’t working properly. I realized it was probably because the heat was going through too fast so I took a slower draw and it worked great.

I will post more in a few days but my initial impression is great! If you have a FF2 already, definitely do the $30 service and if you have the extra cash, go ahead and get the 2+. You won’t be disappointed.

I have my upgraded FF2 back. I dunno,I'm kinda mixed about it. I love that my bowl area and mouthpiece is all brand new, but I sorta miss my old clogged FF2 so far. Seems the taste was better and the scorching on the bottom of the load was less of an issue. I'm set low on temp at about 170-175F so far and I don't enjoy it as much, prior to the upgrade. Scorching is more prevalent on this one, even at this low of temp but I'll need to tinker more to see if I can alleviate this issue.

Yes, the airway is more open, but I get a whistling sound if I draw too hard. Not sure if this may be attributed to a leaky seal but will test with a brand new lid. The whistle reminds me of my EVO where if you draw with a bit less umph you can eliminate that sound.

On the bright side, my unit got sent back with a battery installed, so I have an extra now. I may be the odd one out of the reviews so far but wanted to share my experience with y'all.

Ok dialed in now. FF2 with plus upgrades are a welcomed revision. I had to take my temps down some. I like 165C. Back to great taste and nice even ABV using my several taps after a rip method. Doing this I dont need to open up and stir.

I don't feel so out of breath no more. I can breathe. Loving it even more now.

I have also been using a lower temp with my FF2+ compared to my FF2.

I had yet to get the old tap/stir method working, so I will have to try that some more effort. Are you leaving some empty space in the bowl to help with stirring, or counting on the bowl shrinkage after a couple rips to give you the extra space needed to share/stir?

Just enough empty space to allow some mixture. I'm still working on it but have had success, so its possible. I try not to pack so tight. I'm sure grind and moisture play a factor.

Thanks for reporting your experiences with the send in up-grade.

Yes, grind and moisture is important.......you want your grind to be larger and dry....fairly dry. Flavor and vapor increase with dryness!

I’m not sure why this one is getting negative feedback in the thread. I got one today and it’s solid. Virtually no learning curve. Plenty of airflow. Very flavorful hits. What’s not to like?

Well...

The messy load and subsequent cleaning is not ideal, but it seems like a fair compromise for a device that’s more of a stay at home taste tool than a rough and tumble on the go vape. For that the DaVinci IQ is still leading the pack for me.

I’ve been waiting to write more about the Firefly 2+ until the battery died. I ended up waiting like 7 or 8 days! The battery lasted 8 days without needing to be charged?! The previous battery didn’t even hold a charge that long in storage, let alone with nightly usage. I used the vape once or twice a night for 5-6 hit sessions and the battery lasted for 8 days. I’m completely blown away. I’m going to test it again and keep more detailed notes on how much I use it but I am pretty stoked on the initial battery life of the FF2+! I am going to upgrade the firmware on my FF2 so I can compare the two.

With the battery lasting so long, the FF2+ is a vape that I can rely on to take on walks or out and about without being hassled with battery issues like the FF2. I’m so happy. It seems like the vape I wished it was all along. When people ask me about it if they see me with it, it is fun to tell them about it and all of the good things and not have to be like “yea the only bummer is battery life” because that’s kind of a deal breaker to most people.

I’m enjoying the heck out of this thing!

Nice.

I haven’t noticed any issue with the battery, but I do just place it on the dock when I’m not using it.

It’s super efficient. Probably the most efficient vape I have. The bowl is small, and it works best with a course, loose pack, but it seems to hit forever and really gets me baked.

If it's true that they have finally take care of their issues with the batteries, I may even try one again :D

It still is one of the best flavors I ever had with a portable but the fact that the battery couldn't hold the charge was a total no-no for me.

Any other people has tried this?

The Firefly 2 Plus arrived yesterday. I had an original one for about a month and this one is so much smaller and lighter than I expected. I really like the jet black finish from a stealth perspective, and was surprised that the glass in the lid and the unit are smoky color. Charged up from dead in about 50 minutes. But on to the experience...

I do a hit or two at a time and this is perfect for that. Filled the bowl according to the directions, a little above the rim and tamped it down. I did 10-15 second hits at 380f and 360f. Fast, slow, it didn't matter; lots of vapor and the flavor is amazing. Actually too much vapor for my liking, although a little less on 360f. The draw was very open, more open than I'm used to.

I haven't paired it to the phone yet and just changed the temperature using the touch buttons. One question. I did notice the bowl glowed really bright for the first hit, but every time I've used it since then the glow is a lot more faint. Is this tied to the temperature used on the unit?

Yes it will glow when heating up to higher temps.....like when I set it in the 450-500 for rosin on the pad. Then you will see the glowing more....but lower temps you might not see much red. For flower....I am somewhere from 360-380f.

Quick question for other owners. I never had a FF2 so don't know what the draw resistance was like, but if I try to hit the FF2+ hard, it's really resistant. I just noticed this last night and thought something was clogged, but did a full cleaning and viewing the glow in a dark room all the bottom plate holes and the mouthpiece are clear. Now when I draw slowly like I normally do it's a very free draw and even get some whistling so it's not a big deal, but I'm just noticing the resistance on very strong draws.

Yeah, it’s less resistant than the old FFs but you’ll still feel more resistance than an airy, totally free-flowing device. What you’re describing is normal, and in fact is intentional....the device doesn’t want you to pull too fast or too hard....you can overwhelm the heater with too much cool air if you pull too hard.

When you feel that resistance, you’re drawing too hard. Back off slightly when you feel that, and you’ll be drawing at the optimal speed and strength.

I noticed that if I press on the Firefly 2+ on the sides in the middle, it creaks. Anyone else notice this?
