Happy Father's Day!!!

@MothChewMoth Code fixed. *nowaple* will work until midnight tonight. That *dirty* maple isn't easy to come by, and I can only seem to find it locally. I'm going to be taking another trip to the lumber yard to see if I an get some more. It's not expensive, just hard to find reliably.

I spent zero time in the shop yesterday. Needed a day off, but I'm not sure this would qualify as a *break*, as I spent all day in the Bronx at a street fair. At least I was outta the shop for a day. Today, my wife and I will celebrate a bit, but not before I get a few good hours in. I have cover plates to finish. I need to nibble away at the under belly of each plate, to form the mounting tabs. This process will be done on the router table for ultimate accuracy and consistency.
EDIT: 40 cover plate underbellies done. All that's left is hand finishing and pairing to the units.

I want to offer little Father's Day *gift* as well. While supplies last, all Lil' Buds (Classic and Elite), will ship in a neat little hemp pouch. This is more about protecting the finish than it is a carrying case.

Good morning boys and girls...
It's almost time to pull the plug on June sales. My goal was to produce X of amount of sales, and I've hit X - 2, so it'll stay open for a few more days. Once I hit the number, or by the latest June 20, final assemblies begin, but I'm jumping ahead of the game. First I've got some cover plates to finish, and pre-assemblies to complete.

The 15% off *nowaple* coupon code will stick around for a few more days, but the bigger news is you can still get in on late June shipping. It'll shift to July any day now.

Today was *file and hand sand cover plate* day. I had 40-ish (I threw in a few extra) to hand finish, meaning squaring up the routed holes (USB and screen), while opening up the round holes (buttons). A small fine tuning of my jig has resulted in a lot less work fine tuning the plate itself. I actually managed to finish up all 40. Next, I'l cut and pair to the current pre-assemblies, fitting each one perfectly into the mortise, still no board. At this point sold units will be fully finished and then assembled. Gonna be a pretty batch, even the cover plates are really sharp looking.

I just updated the website to reflect the assembly / shipping change on all orders from here forward, to July. I'll actually extend June shipping until midnight tonight for anyone who's been on the fence, maybe thinking about purchasing.

You guys want a 20 question raffle drawing? How about a $50 single use coupon code to the winner (good for six months)? PM me that you answered the 20 questions and are in the raffle. I'll have Mrs. Vapwood draw out of a hat over the weekend. This coupon code cannot be used retroactively.

All 42 finalized - walnut, koa, cherry, maple . By far, the best results to date.

Forgive my noob question, but what is escribe and what does it do for the Elite? I ordered one in Koa to finally try out, but haven't done my full research yet on what all the options/accessories are.

Nice relaxing day in the assembly shop. Cover plates found homes. The fit is exceptional, and there are lots of little reasons for that vs one big reason. Pretty much every process was tightened up a hair. In the end, it ads up to what you see in the pic below. I managed to increase the depth of the board mortise and distance to the coil for a little extra cooling of the board, and I believe will eliminate the need for board vents (1/16" on each side). The two, #0 x 3/16 pan head screws that hold the plate in place are counter bored, one bottom left, one top right. Nice clean look. Each mortise has a *mock board* that's exactly 7 mm thick. It's nothing more than a shim which keep the plate at just the right level. 7 mm will give us a drop more clearance from bottom of the board to the mortise floor.

2 Koa, 4 Cherry, 3 Walnut, 3 Maple, 5 Waple (a couple are actually left over from last batch). I'll be beeswaxing these bad boys tomorrow. Next, I'll build coils, wire boards, assemble. On track for June shipping.

Din ding ding ! We have another winner ! Isn't incredible how the Elite keeps your screen clean !! Amongst other things !! Can we say , "vape of the year" ?

Very excited to watch this, one of those Cherry models is mine, as well as a Cherry Classic!

Dude , loving the love ! I love my cherry bomb Classic . It's my workhorse. The Classic is one sturdy, tough vape friend, they sure pack a punch ! Wish you'll enjoy

Is Koa the new Walnut?

Not one Walnut! I'm kind of shocked, but looking back over the June batch, I don't have one Walnut order, Elite or Classic. Problem is (or good news), I have quite a bit of Walnut (and Cherry) inventory. It's Walnut and Cherry that need to be deep in inventory, the old stand by's. I'd like to add a couple of Walnut or Cherry units to this June batch. I'm going to limit to 2 more units.

The only way to get in on the June batch (limit 2) is Elite Walnut or Elite Cherry. I'm going to assemble one of each. (coupon code: 2020 saves you $20)

Today's Assignment
1. Hand finish and apply beeswax to June batch
2. Coil prep work

PM REPORT
Came up a bit short, no beeswax today, but I got 15 units ready for the wax. Coil prep (just banging out 15) used to be quite intimidating, very tedious, but my solder, coil skills have dramatically improved over the past year or so, and it's gotten easier. Got all my coil wires stripped and tinned (18 gauge, 19 strand, silver plated, teflon coated but stripped and *tinned*, definition tinned: enfused or embedded with silver solder to basically turn a stranded wire into a solid wire for better connectivity / ala@Alan). A bit more prep work and it'll be time to form coils.

I spent some time on a small project that will be a collaboration. I've hinted about this before, but it's starting to take shape now. Lots of good things coming up.

***Look ma, no mod!***

With the concept of a 510 dry herb vape and an e-cig mod box, on demand convection vaping has exploded. By introducing the DNA 75C board to the Lil' Bud, we basically put a mod box into a wooden body. If you break down the Elite into its main components, you have 1) coil, 2) battery, 3) board, 4) roasting tube, elegantly joined via a hardwood body and cover plate, no small task. And of course, the Elite performs like a high end on demand convection vape. Without the performance, it would just be a pretty piece of wood. I've been trying to highlight that concept on the website, as it's what sets the Elite apart.
