So really did screw me after 2 hrous of chat and negotiationg a deal that drasticly favored him. He went and sold it from under me anyway. After having me send pics and discussing what I would send on top of cash.
Even better is it was a fake not even a real dynavap stem. 8 dollor carbon tubing from ebay cut to size.
Upvotes anyone! Lol
Just extra mad.
I want my 2hrs back

The one with glass beads?
I got it the other day. I like it, but it’s small. And the beads are trapped inside and after a few uses it is already getting a little sticky - the beads are kind of clumping together.
I love the look of it and feel and the vapor does seem to be a little cooler. But I am not sure how it will do long term. Then again, it’s made of glass and glass doesn’t usually last that long anyway.
Not sure if that helps at all..

sorry bro you got the big run around...humans are a varied species to say the least

reg that carbon tube...you may be better off
I dont know what the DV carbon tube was like, but most of the tubing out there has the shiny dismond pattern on the outside, and a solid grey epoxy inner surface. I would really like to know if the DV tube had that grey inner suface.

I have some diamond cf tube ...I think I cut it to 6" havent done anything more with it That grey inner needs to be ground down so the Dv Tip will fit, then sone sort of sealant finish...I dont like that bare epoxy on the inside. Also be certain there are no carbon shards on the ends or via an airport hole. those shards will mess up your lungs

That's y I never got the 8 dollar ebay tube. Im hoping that dv would have some sort of sealant. For the better anyway.. now im looking at new vape stuff. I shouldnt even look anymore but cant help it.At least dynavaps and accessories are covered by just the savings from my Xcig habbit. Except now i just buy toys to vape or get lit lol. So really just a savings to my lungs not my pocket. I do loke thos mist vape shortys as well. The wood tip looks pretty fancy. I gotta start clearing some stuff tho. Still loving the mothpeices you sent me. The wood one has become my couch hitter. And the black one almost feels soft in my lips. Loving them

Unless there is a port for air, the risk is minimal as the condenser serves as a direct vapor conduit;

The stem is basically window dressing.

So if you don’t directly pass the hot vapor thru the CF sleeve, you won’t be inhaling
Hot epoCG gaga fumes into your lungs.

Actually, I have always wondered :hmm: why I have used my carbon fiber “body” sparingly....

If it ain’t broke, don’t break it?

The Carbon Fiber stem I have from Dynavap seems to be black inside *except* where the Omni mouthpiece has been in it...I see some kind of thread in that area too, which may be from the mouthpiece making it fray. Maybe I’ll check with them about re-finishing, but if I got rid of that thread it would probably still be okay...I probably should have been more consistent in lubricating the parts before putting them back together.

It’s also possible what I’m seeing down there is just residue from dry o-rings being inserted...

Also, @Xclerk you might want to re-read the forum rules and edit that post again if you still can...I don’t think the mods would approve.

It's funny, we all have different levels of paranoia or concern about materials and methods. Because we ingest the vapor and gasses into our lungs, safety does matter, and the amount of risk we are willing to take is going to be different for everyone. I think it is important that folks know the risks they are taking so they can make educated decisions. While that may be less important for us old farts on the last quarter of our lives, it should be of greater importance for those on their first or second quarter, as their own chemical machine will need to last much longer.

For example, I love butane vapes, but I hate butane. So the butane vapes I am willing to use are like the Lotus and the Vapcap where the butane flame is not part of the air path. One heats a metal plate (Lotus) or a metal cap (VC) and that radiates heat and heats the air as it is pulled past the radiator and then through the load. There is no way to inhale the exhaust of the butane flame, you just use the radiated heat.
That is different from something like the StickyBrick/Daisy or the Flam where you point the torch directly in to the air path and inhale the exhaust with the heat. That may be perfectly safe, I can't say for sure, but it certainly causes my paranoia flags to light up. And while I wouldn't be afraid to take a hit from one of these devices if it was passed my way, I don't think I would be comfortable using one on a daily basis.

We all have to make our own decisions. Lots of people are afraid of Lithium batteries, particularly the 18650s, so they wouldn't dream of using a 510 mod. Some won't use butane. Some would still rather combust. It's all mostly a matter of preference whether for safety or effectiveness, but in all cases we are better off knowing the risks.

thank you so much for sharing what the DV cf tube looks like inside. I have been after that data for a while.

reg your cf stem and the "string" you see inside....I would recogmend you deal with that before you use the stem. If that is a shard of cf, you do not want that in your lungs.

back to the Dv cf having not seen it...and you saying its black inside
well that may be a sealant or a rolled cf tube rather than protruded

I wanted to offer the cf tubes, but wont until my process can make it has safe as possible.my wood stems are made from low allergy woods...my acetal mouthpieces are fda compliant and I run them thru an ultrasonic cleaner. Its less than a drop in the bucket reg the world being full of microplastics....just one mans rage

... Only problem is that its too beautiful to take a torch to just yet so I've been using it with my old Omni tip and cap ... my plan is to christen the complete piece on the night of June 17th which will mark the 41st anniversary of Guidry's 18 strikeout performance which is still a Yankee record ...

@whatitdew I agree with @Jill NYC about the Mistvape stem. Really nicely made, the MP feels really good, it cools the vapor pretty well......but, it is really small. Nice to have in the collection but more of an occasional piece for fun than a daily driver.

@Xclerk probably for the best. I agree with @danielj and @cybrguy. Let that guy inhale hot CF fumes!!

@Gorillaz7 You a madman!!!! Do you need a friend to help you spin that thing?

And @stark1 you really look like you know how to relax. Just seeing your backyard photos makes me a little calmer.

I did some research on CF when I first started out and decided to avoid it.
As @danielj says it's not safe, the body loves CF and cells readily grow in it which will cause more serious problems.

@stark1 airport or not there is still the chance of stray CF fibres entering the vapor path.
Drill through it and there is even more chance.
Cleaning the area around a hole through an 8mm bore tube is not going to ensure a clean debris free surface.

IMO the only way CF can be judged as being a safe option is if it's fully lined with Ti or SS.

It's cheap to buy and unfortunately some people have no idea what an MSDS is and care more about profits than people.

Back on track.
The triple stem is going to be doing the rounds, UK only, once the feedback is in and it's looking good then the TripCap drawings will be in at the machine shop and made in Ti.

A simple reduction in the vapor path bore means mouth to lung toking is possible.
