Very glad to hear @jojo monkey is still around and doing his thing.

JOJO got back to me a few days ago. So he is around just busy I am guessing.

For glass we love the Roor VaporTech bubbler. Nice 6” base which the GS fits nicely on top.
I've thought about it so, so many times. $335 is tough for me to justify when I'm so happy with my $40 fc-ufo. Though I can't deny it looks amazing, in an amazing premium way I can't wait to get someday.

Mine has taken over as my Daily Driver and it has been this way for at least 3 years now.
Nothing is as smooth and there is almost zero drag.
I use it dry these days and it just works with every single vape I own.

The GS tastes amazing through it and even my little grasshopper can milk it just like the big boys!
A very versatile tube that keeps all my other glass in a box in the cupboard...

I 100% agree, I love mine. It was the only glass I liked more than my DO20-D, literally my only issue with it is how much iso I use cleaning it.

The taste at 700F is incredible. absolutely super hard to beat that.

The thing about the GS: it will pay for itself if you use cannabis very often. It is simply much more effciient to consume cannabis via the GS than smoking.

I just emailed him about picking up a second one since it sounds like he’ll be putting in a parts order soon. The GS is my favorite vape to the point that it kinda ruins other vapes for me.

The experience of hitting the GS is perfect. The combination of open airflow and a huge heat mass allows it to keep up and hold temperature even with huge, fast hits through large water pieces.

Speaking of large water pieces... I found the glass slipper for my Glass Symphony:
Sky Quantum Recycler

I know that having a giant glass vaporizer and giant 18mm recycler on my nightstand is ridiculous. You can judge me but you can’t stop me.

I am currently juggling between the vxc and flowerpot.

My main choices for the next vape would be either glass symphony if available or im looking at the herborizer ti.

Does anyone have comparison notes/views between these vaporizers ?

Glass Symphony is a better choice than the FlowerPot, in my opionion.
It has a bigger heater, and much more air gets around the heater.
It extracts faster.

If I understand, you want a comparison of GS versus herborizer ti - yeah? If so then @ViCKi LEEKX gives the best analysis in a couple of threads, having recently got the herboTi to go with her trio of big-hitters: GS, FP & EVO. Search for her honest yet diplomatic posts in the FP and Herbo threads over the last week or so and then look at her signature above: Both HerboTi and Evo are relegated to back-ups and it seems for her personally, the FP runs a very distant second to her beloved Glass Symphony.

I can never forget the GS due to some communication long ago with @jojo monkey as the betas were going out, he was just so kind and thoughtful. I’ve discovered in my vape journey that I love the vapes made by enthusiasts, the lone inventor or small shop scenarios. When the individual is genuine and not bogged down in marketing speak, that gets my attention. When they treat me like a person rather than a sale, that gets my $.

I’ve never had a stationary “vape station” and knew that was a necessary component for me to not destroy it. I have sorted that situation last week and then @ViCKi LEEKX starts posting everywhere about her GS and how it rocks her world more than the others? That’s the universe trying to tell me something baby! I have the perfect bigger piece with a heavy 6” base, it has a 14,4mm joint, but the GS bowls are only 19 (18) mm, correct?

Obviously I can use an adapter if need be but it’s already tall enough!

Aww that was very sweet of you to say, @pxl_jockey. :)

I wouldn’t necessarily say that the Flowerpot is “a very distant second” to my GS. I prefer the GS, but the FP is a very good, well-designed, high-performing vape. They’re both virtually maintenance-free.

IMO the thermal mass and wide-open airflow in the GS give it the edge over other vapes on the market. The FP is pretty much indestructible, and the GS is, well, glass. I have a pretty good track record with glass and some nice pieces, so I wasn’t super-worried about keeping it alive. Over the last year no harm has come to mine, but if it did replacement parts are easy to obtain.

I, too, appreciate Brendan aka @jojo monkey for his communication and design. In a shady “anything goes” market, we’ve seen plenty of companies make risky, weird, or sub-par choices just to save a couple bucks here and there. What Brendan has done is the opposite of that: he’s made a spectacularly-performing vape with an isolated heat path using as many off-the-shelf parts as possible. His design thread here really impressed me bc he shared a lot of good knowledge and information with the community in addition to making a great vape.

The Herborizer just didn’t do it for me. In retrospect, having and loving the GS and FP already, I should have gone the opposite direction and gotten a D Cup or something that wouldn’t be overlapping the same function.

The Herborizer is small and it’s sexy, but IMO:
  • Performance was inferior to the GS and FP
  • I hate the proprietary PID controller but can’t replace it due to the 4-pin wiring
  • The cable is too damned short, but again can’t replaced
  • I am not a fan of having to stir bowls to get thorough and even extraction
  • If you pull hard at the beginning of a bowl (before the flower gets more compact and stuck together), bits can fly up and hit the titanium heating element, which immediately incinerates them and smells like assbiscuit
  • Both the heater and the stand have a combination of titanium, some sort of grommet/o-ring, and glass. The glass part of the heater would get stuck in the glass part of the stand often when the heater is hot, and I’d have to turn off the PID controller to drop the temp a couple hundred degrees to free them.
Just my :2c:

In GS news, Brendan e-mailed yesterday and said he’d be making heaters this weekend and aiming to ship end of next week! :science:

Edited to add pics!

@ViCKi LEEKX Thanks, I tossed a coin whether to be nice or joking blame you for my VAS passive-aggressively. You got lucky! You’re right, you never said “distant second”, I went way over the top there, sorry. And I love my FP as well, it’s a beast that beats me up regularly and there’s no destroying it. But I took a look at the members who have a GS and rate it highly, most I know from other threads and respect their thoughts and experience. Some have even helped me make good choices in the past. They’re all saying that the GS is tops for them...

So I keep coming back to the GS thread, lurking around, although I don’t need another plug-in and I’m not trying to amass a shedload of vapes. I can’t stop thinking how I wanna try this bad boy! Hope to join y’all here in the next couple of months, I’m still recovering from an explosive bout of GAS right now. I’m excited for all those who are waiting for their very own GS to be delivered, looking forward to seeing your posts about it.

EDIT: holy crap vicki! When did you get the sky piece, what model is that you customised? That’s a killer setup for the GS, love it! Tell us all about it! Is it the Cinderella slipper you talked about?

Also want to share one of my favourite quotes that I try to live by, and fail miserably:
“It's shiny, it's new, but I need a new device like I need a case of raging herpes.” ~ @macbill

Of course! It is a Sky Glass Quantum Recycler.
https://getskyglass.com/product/quantum-recycler/

They customize existing designs, as well as make custom designs:
https://getskyglass.com/products/custom-glass/

For this piece, I sent them a picture of my marbled leather journal cover and asked them to match it.

@pxl_jockey Sorry - I meant to answer your question about 14mm joints and the GS. One of the things that gives the GS its magic is that the airpath is 24mm everywhere up to the 19mm joint at the bottom of the bowl. The top of the bowl is a 24mm F GonG that fits onto the 24mm M joint at the bottom of the GS.

Having a 19mm joint at the bottom of the bowl is already reducing the 24mm airpath. Restricting the 24mm airpath to a 14mm joint would in many ways be fighting against the design of the vape and I would expect sub-par performance.

BIG QUESTIONS for GS lovers:

If I primarily like to hit it and kill it in one and reload, rather than load a lot and take many hits, is there a specific GS bowl that will serve me the best? It seems that one-hit full-flavour crushers are what the GS is famous for, so I guess that all three will facilitate that experience but what separates them in your experience?

In chatting with jojo, I told him that I would likely get all three bowls and since then I’ve been wondering if that’s the wisest move or not? I tend to buy all the accessories...but trying to be better about this and only get what I know I’ll use. Problem here is I don’t find the cost for all 3 to be crazy exorbitant and maybe it might just be a good idea to try all three and find my favourite(s)? That’s my sickness talking!
So here is my take on each, except for Stadium Bowl. I only have a question about it:

1) Is the OG Stadium bowl meant to be for large sized loads or just allows watching the herb be obliterated?
2) I definitely want the funnel bowl and think it’ll probably get the most use. Gonna get the fine mesh too.
3) The Glass Mesh Bowl offers amazing flavour and more restrictive airflow by design.*

I’m cool with their prices but if there’s a group consensus that one style is the best, then I might pass on one of them and get a back-up for the one that sees the most use. Or am I just overthinking this and should get all 3 and make up my own mind? I know, I know, I’m the only one here who obsesses over silly details...:disgust:

* EDIT: I like the sound of this one too.

After lurking around here for so long, I’m stoked to have finally made a spot in my tiny studio space for the GS! This is a dream a long time in the making, I am so ready to cut that check and give a good home to the next shiny new 220v GS XLR in need, I’m nesting like an expectant mother, lol :luv: Best part is, I know it’s not gonna take 9-10 months for jojo to hook me up! :D

I popped on eBay and happened to see this old Victorian lab tripod stand, made an offer and scooped it for £8, check it out:

EDIT: for clarity :smug:
EDIT #2: yes, I’m perfectly willing to talk to myself and post back-to-back every 8 hours until some brave soul intervenes. Ignoring me does no good, people. I have no shame. Watch me!

Very nice, if you find any more please let me know, I could see that making an excellent rain cover for one of my Autoflowers by simply throwing a piece of tarpaulin over the top looks perfect, cozy as well! :smug::leaf::nod:

Lol, @Alexis this is going to wind up in the Out of Context thread, but here it goes anyway:

It’s not nearly as big as it looks in the picture, it’s all angle and perspective. :D

It’s only 24cm tall x 12cm wide so not really big enough for your purposes. Unless your autos are some Pygmy strain!
*** That’s not quite 9.5” tall x 4.75” wide for the Yanks reading along out there. ***
I’m going to drill 1/2 inch holes into the tabletop and anchor the legs in those, so it’ll wind up 9” tall.

I probably use my glass bowl the least. I like to use it on new stuff or if something is really tasty, but I tend to use my funnel and stadium bowls the most. Nothing against the glass bowl, it's tastier but just less easy to use. If I could only use 1 bowl it would be the funnel bowl. The fine mesh screen keeps it really clean, under the screens gets sticky before the actual screen gets clogged. The stadium bowl holds more and puts on more of a show, but you can still fit a lot into the funnel bowl.

That being said I LOVE the stadium bowl. Same great funnel bowl taste but you can put in huge amounts. Also it can be beautiful watching it vape. It shrinks down and then starts to change color as it get's big again as vapor is pouring out of it.

Forgot to say I had the newvape twax for a month or so before I got the Glass Symphony. I only had one controller and I had to change the settings a bit for the Glass Symphony. Once I did I NEVER changed the settings back and hooked up my newvape twax again. I just couldn't find a reason to, it wasn't as good with flower as my Glass Symphony and wasn't as good with concentrates as my sic d-nail halo (I've switched to @710Coils quartz/ruby since then which is even better). Though to be fair I had the twax which was discontinued 2-3 discontinued products ago (maybe more by now, I don't follow the thread).

In my own personal individual opinion that is not a fact glass is better than metal. The only thing that could be better than this is an insanely expensive sapphire/ruby/diamond version. But again I'm a glass person so I'm biased, no offense to anyone who likes the newvape twax's.

It’s funny how I can have the GS on a list for over a year just waiting for my health, energy and circumstances to align, and be able to patiently wait, read and wait some more. No problem! But the minute that I’m finally sorted and ready to pull the trigger, I’m transformed into an overly-excited, antsy little kid! I can’t wait for the next round to land and bring some new blood into this thread and more chatter to keep me occupied until @jojo monkey gets to me. I’m checking the thread everyday and where I was content to lurk before, now I’m being the annoying guy with nothing to contribute really other than a window into my vape neurosis... :disgust:

I’m gonna need a weekly GS video from current owners. Don’t care if it’s the same member every week or y’all decide to divide responsibilities, just post something so that I can live vicariously through you guys! C’mon!
