I don't suggest anyone use the dry herb atty in their old beta units!! Mine just lit on fire lol. Now I have no dry herb atty to try on my actual production unit... doh

Yea I think the beta body doesnt adjust the body temps for the herb atomizer. Sorry to hear about this though! Im sure my team will reach out asap and get you squared away with a new herb atty no problem.

I got to test the “everlast” atomizers yesterday and I think they’re going to make a lot of people happy. The ceramic heating plate is encased in a layer of stainless steel to protect against wear and tear. The cups are fitted to the stainless steel shell, and the fit is more snug than the current atties, so the cup doesn’t wobble around before you twist the cap on. There are ti, quartz and ceramic cups, though idk if all 3 will ultimately be available. I believe Randall said he would be sending some out to the beta squad for testing first, which would obviously be awesome.

One thing I immediately noticed was how much better the ceramic cup felt in the everlast, where there wasn’t that grating ceramic against ceramic feeling. The first ceramic dab I took was wispy but tasty, and it snuck up on me hard in a couple minutes. I think the ceramic + stainless combo is gonna be killer. Everlast quartz was also great - I took a rosin dab at 644 that milked up immediately and knocked me flat on my ass.

The tradeoff is the everlasts take a few extra seconds to heat up, which is ok since it’s so quick to begin with. I need much more testing to confirm, but you may also need to go a notch higher on temp to get comparable hits to the current atties. Some people will be perfectly fine with the current ones, and others will definitely prefer the new ones. Not sure yet if there would be any reason to switch between both. But the point is the company listened to customer feedback and created this really nice durable atomizer for people who wanted it. How awesome is that?! There are companies whose entire business model is trapping you to constantly replace parts; @FocusV continues to demonstrate all they care about is making the best rig on the market.

fwiw I haven’t had any atomizer issues whatsoever since I swapped my base 2 weeks ago. Dab counter is currently at 311 (amber is the color of my...concentrate?), mostly on a single atomizer that I fixed with my rebuild kit.

Agreed on the further testing! Glad you enjoyed the new attys as much as I did. I am actually now finding that i can run ceramic as low as 540ish and get cloud and taste still. The Quartz I will try tonight and see how that operates at the lower temps.

There is certainly a heat up time difference though. It does need an additional 4 seconds it seems. that will be the time needed for it to get that heat transfer built up.

with all that being said I am still impressed so far forsure!

Great!! Do you think they can send me one of those new everlast atty's to test at the same time?

The atomizer lit on fire or your herb combusted? Shitty deal either way, but super sketchy if the device is catching fire.

Can you use the latest versions of the device without an app to control temp settings etc?

It was the first dry run test so I had nothing in it. I always dry run any new device to look for off gasing in special lighting. This one just keep going and didn't turn off and was very noticeable.

And there's 4 temp settings you can adjust with the buttons ont he device. The app is just to change those pre-sets. I find the default level 1 perfect with the quartz bucket.

Just curious why you were doing your dry run in the beta base, and what setting did you run it at?

I don't want the taste of flower in my main use unit. I emailed customer service and they told me it would work but the app woudl not work. It started on max lvl4, but I turned it down to level 1, but it just didn't seem to shut off at all like normal. I then took it to the garage and watched it light so I shut it off myself and removed the batteries. Then I removed the atomizer and it's all grey inside. So I emailed customer service back and suggested no one else try it.

Interesting. Bear in mind the default sesh time for herb is a lot longer than for concentrate - 3:00 vs 0:40 I think. Did it run for longer than a few minutes?

oh wow, no not at all. It was sparking within 45 seconds and by 1 minute I noticed it's never been on this long and then poof fire came out and I turned it off. No chance I was going to get to 3 minutes. Maybe 1.5 tops

Just got the dry herb atomizer. Has anyone else had problems with the herb atomizer loading as a concentrate atomizer in the app?

I saw the puffcolawsuit instagram try to throw shade at the carta yesterday but people came and told them they were wrong. Anyone catch it? i wasnt able to see what they were complaining about before the post was deleted.

He's going to have trouble getting people to back anything negative against the carta. I haven't seen one mistake they didn't or aren't actively trying to remedy.

It was some laughable nonsense about how the holes in the bottom of the atomizer would cause oil to spill down into the air path and eventually get moldy. The dude hadn't even used his Carta yet  Love how the community forcefully clapped back and got him to delete his post out of sheer embarrassment.

Has anyone else had the issue of the Carta/Base going straight from Start-Up in the app and it almost immediately after go from the "Heat-Up" Blue lights to the "Ready" Green in about a second?

I followed the instructions that @FocusV gave me the first time and flipped the batteries to reset the base but it didn't change anything.

It does do a proper Heat-Up Cycle when using the preset temperatures though.

Not tripping just wondering if anyone has had this happen before?

The atomizer was really stuck on the base but I made sure to just go at it with small amounts of pressure until it finally started to turn and there is more adhesive around the hole at the bottom of the treads that leads to the Airpath than the other but I don't think that matters much. Just figured I'd add that just in case it does mean something.

Kinda sounds like you need a good cleaning. I'd strip 'er down and the base and atty real good and try again?

Mine also does this....I think it might be a bug. I’m pretty sure other users have had the same thing happen. I just set the session timer to 1 min. And wait about 5-10 secs and start inhaling. Have had great results but yes mine goes from blue to green almost instantly even with different attys.

Gotcha, ya that's the exact same thing with the new warranty base that came in.

Again it's not anything that they won't handle so I'm not worried but I'm glad this isn't something they've never seen before.

Thanks man

Focus just listed the atomizer repair kit. I am a little confused,it lists replacement wires with the kit. Does the kit have the ceramic and wires or just wires? And how many are in there too?

The kit sent to beta testers had two ceramic heating elements, tweezers and wire cutters. Pretty nice kit overall.

What do you mean by flip? Insert the battery in battery slot 1 into battery slot 2 & vice versa?

Damn I got the dry herb Atty but no rebuild kit? I'm fake sad RN

They said the rebuild kit would be sent separately so assume at the time they ran out.

Focus just listed the atomizer repair kit.

I don't see it listed on the website. What I do see is the wrong pic shown for the dry herb atomizer.

My question for those who received the dry herb atomizer is: what is the black washer for? It appears to sit in the base hole where the atomizer is inserted/screwed in, but if placed there, it's too thick to be able to screw the atomizer in. The atomizer screws in fine without the washer. Just too afraid to turn unit on without advice after @mc fire experience above.

Can someone tell me what the temp levels are on the final release unit as well as the preorder unit. IIRC correctly, think the preorder level 1 is 600°F, while the final version is 500°F, but would like to know the others.

And lastly, anyone having success with using the app with Android 7.1 Nougat & 8.x Oreo?

I just wish there were detailed instructions/info. on the website for the vape, atomizers & app.

G'morning @Summer , that black washer is a silicone seal for the carb cap. It fits over the ring that mates to the top of the atty.

By flip the batteries he means reverse polarity. It's supposed to reset the base unit.

I have no idea what the new temps are, once only used the app since I got a new base unit with working BT. Since receiving it, it's connected almost instantly with Android 6,7 and 9, I'll find a phone with 8 but I think it's encrypted so not a fair test.

It's been a joy the last week, but I think I'm driving my tolerance way up!

Thank you MonkeyTime!

I have Android v. 5.x & Google Play says it's not compatible so I'll have to upgrade. QVC has an Oreo LG which I'm interested in so if anyone knows if it's compatble that would be great. Don't understand why encrypted or not makes a difference.

I won’t even use mine again until the iOS app is up and working. I have other options I like better until I can get the temp where I want it. I only do one small dab at a time, if I did two or more back to back I’m sure the second and third would be much better but right now it’s either low temp on level one or burnt cup on level 2.
