I made us some fancy instruction manuals.... that was a lot of work! hope they are useful.

Also, insulated handle is up!

@justpassdu I usually use 6mm pearls (x2) but sometimes I’ll throw one 6mm and one 5mm to help clear the center oil out. You can also clear the center oil by lifting off the carb cap when pearls spinning slower just don’t lift it too early although I don’t think I’ve had a pearl shoot because of the overhang. On my halo well I’ve dodged a couple pearls being a little forgetful about the carb cap.

The pearls in this device really do aid in vaporization and for me I wouldn’t want to use the Dcup without them. I don’t always feel strongly about pearls but the carb cap is perfectly designed to get them really spinning nice tight fit, with two directional airflows inlets. Very tightly designed. The only caution I would have is be careful to keep the Dcup level, I was passing it around or picking my rig up and what happen was the oil got under the insert which isn’t so much fun to clean. Although NewVape has an instructions on their website in case that happens.

Temps 490-580 F I generally let the temp rise and fall between these points by switching my D-nail heat on and off.

I think they are great I wish more companies took the time to layout simple instructions. @newvape918 A couple a questions:

When screwing the flat coil I always try to be careful to make sure the coil is very flat and the DCup coil cover is even and tight. I know good contact is vital for devices like these but how tight do screw coil cover in and does it being uneven matter that much? Also do you hold the coil in place when tightening or allow it to adjust itself?

Thanks

The past 2 nights I been experimenting with the larger size pearls , I have 4 in the dish at the moment and I believe they are the 6mm , I may have a few smaller 1's someplace but they are working out really well. I usually drop my dab at the sides of the insert/dish as to avoid the center like you stated. I'm around 580F and enjoying it. I did find I have to do a bit of bigger dab compared to lets say my puffco peak to really get some nice vapor but no more than any other quartz banger setup. They do spin well with the carb cap , I'd like to experiment and try and get a glass carb cap that can spin them that I can see through to view the pearls spinning as it is really cool. I had 1 pearl jump out of the dish but that was my own fault. I would say I am roughly 25 dabs in so far with Dcup , still dialing it in to my liking but its been great. I disassembled it all yesterday and everything is still spotless. Torched a few parts for some color just to add to the look. The only thing sticky so far is the bottom of my carb cap. @newvape918 handle looks great , are you guys thinking of offering any different types of wood ?

I hold the coil in place while i assemble the cover ans screw. As long as everything is flat and even just finger tighten. Shouldnt really need it tighter than that, or use the wrench if you're feeling extra ;)

I asked/suggested the same! For now we are starting with one, but I really hope to see a small library of options for this. Plus, I need my apartment to smell of rich mahogany!

EDIT: Id like to see that torched DCup!!!

So while the stock Carb cap is awesome and spins the terp pearls perfectly, I'd like to be able to also have a cap made of glass that I can see the pearls spinning through. Has anyone tried anything or know the proper dimensions I can send a glass blower to try and have one made ?

Not sure if this image will show up @newvape918 but if not I'll post a link with a few images of that heat treated Dcup

nice! yeah can you post some more? and ill share it on insta. Officially the first heat treated DCup...that we know of.
I only have those 3 pics at the moment , I'm now at work away from my Dcup. I'll try and grab a few more later. It colored well although I was not to happy with the top that locks down the dish. I'll have to purchase another and try again as I don't think its Ti and I may have heated it a bit much , should have done it a bit less. I'm on Insta also , I'll tag NV when I can do a post or should I post these now and tag you ?

Hmm weird that it colored different , maybe my fault applying too much heat. On a side note been using the Dcup with nice results . I still have to find the perfect temp though for myself. I tried some 580F dabs the other night in the middle of the dish rather than the sides like I normally do & i feel my dab may have even been a bit too hot as it burned a drop on to my dish which leads me to believe I may even be able to drop even lower in the temp range. It's allot of fun figuring this out & playing around with the terp pearls. I'm loving this vape. Wish I had more time to use it but a few dabs in and I have to stop from being so inebriated , I'll have to grab some cbd to dab to cure that problem .

a cover / stand for the NewVape pid is currently underway.

Awesome , looking forward to it. Been using my Dcup allot lately and loving it. Still trying for a preferred temp. Man does the 14mm adapter get some nice resin build up quick. I need a collector soon for all that goodness. This thing is just amazing , my favorite stationary dab set up so far in life. Ty for putting it out . if you have dimensions for a glass carb cap please post , I'd like to have 1 made so I can see my terp pearls spin.

I don’t believe, you’re going to see any swirling pearls action imo.
D-Cup has a really small opening at the top, it’s an all Ti cup, add the balls speed, along the circumference of the cup, and the thick vapor, and I’m pretty sure you’re chasing unicorns.
Knock yourself out, but again, imo you’re chasing an impossible.
Good luck, and good for you if it’s possible!!!!

The pearls definitely spin with the Ti Carb cap w/2 holes as I can see them moving when picking up the cap after a hit. It should not be hard to have a glass cap made with a blower that does custom work designing the opening to spin the pearls. The exact dimensions would just be needed. It is definitely possible if a bubble cap can be made to fit the top opening , may be some trial and error though.

@Justpassedu Here's my carb cap testing. I'd like to see the balls spinning to. My dabs are not large enough to benifit from spinning balls. Because I don't use the balls I enjoy using the green "a". I like how it sits with the sticky side up when not in use. hope this helps. let me know if you want any more dimensions. have a nice weekend.

I’m not the one talking about “seeing/watching” pearls “spin” inside a D-Cup.
I certainly know pearls spins, I used them since my first VROD purchase, and they certainly “spin” inside my D-Cup.
You’re the one saying that you want to see pearls spinning inside the D-Cup.
I’m still insisting you’re not going to “see” pearls spinning inside, because “physically” the D-Cup is not transparent, and the opening on top is too small, and whatever.... why I’m still explaining myself, just do it and post your results, knock yourself out actually.
Stay vaped and good luck.

Zancru Thanks buddy , i personally like to experiment with my vapes. Yes I am the 1 saying I want to see my pearls spinning . The owner of the company is saying he can see through it but is not getting the pearls to spin . I understand the Dcup is not transparent. Maybe you don’t understand but the top of Dcup is open , you can see down trough it with no carb cap . So if a carb cap is made clear you would obviously be able to see your pearls spinning if made correctly . No reason to explain , if your against it that’s your prerogative. Let me have my fun . We have a saying “ To each is own “ . I respect what you think but that doesn’t mean I can’t try something I may be into . We are all here for the love of NV products .

I'm prototyping a new approach to the dCup heat post.

The current heat post does require the dcup be cleaned daily to prevent sticking to the heat post. By holding on the exterior of the adapter we hope to reduce the reclaim heat post sticking. There's a catch basin at the bottom where I hope for the reclaim to end up the next day. What are your thoughts?

I personally think its a nice idea and do have my 14mm end sticking a bit but once it is turned on and warm within 2 minutes I have 0 sticking issues . It will freely come right off the post.

So how many people have a Dcup on the forum ? It's been out for a bit now , what are some preferred methods and temps ? I have learned that not all concentrates melt the same and different temps play a role in this. I am always switching trying to find a perfect middle ground. I been around 580F the past few days with 4 terp pearls . Sometimes I get a bit of pooling, sometimes I don't. Just looking to try a few peoples preferred methods out and maybe compare a bit .

IMO pooling is mostly related to how refined a concentrate is. For example flower rosin will always leave more residual unvaporizable plant material behind to swab than live resin sauce. This gives the illusion of pooling, but I wouldn't technically call it that as by design you can't really vape flower rosin bone dry anyways from the wax lipid portion. I see pooling as an indicator that temps are too low to complete vaporization, but its tricky to actually define it as a puddle as some concentrates always leave puddles.

This begs an interesting question I have pondered for a while though - are less refined concentrates "less efficient" - ie: is it actually possible to fully vaporize all the compounds in say, flower rosin, or do the amount of lipids force us into a temperature range which restricts the boiling point of certain cannabinoids/compounds. :hmm:

Ty for that explanation as I am always trying to learn new things. I do turn up temp a bit when I see pooling , sometimes it will result in my concentrate leaving a bit of a burnt mark on the dish it self. That is my main reason for always playing with different temps trying to find a good middle ground but its not easy and maybe not possible considering all concentrates are not created equal.
