These grinds aren’t using exact same amounts, and I am not sure the picture helps but, here ya go.

This is a great pic showing the grinds (credit to @Jill NYC)

The fine grind lives up to the name, note the consistency too.

Thanks man I was worried it may not be as fine as my newvape fine grinder but I think the newvape is on it's way out now lol
There's definitely some discussion on the differences between them in the thread.

From memory, the NewVape goes finer, but is a hassle as it's 2-piece. 3-pieces makes it nice and easy to go from full bud to vaping.

I think the BCG fine plate is a nice amount of fineness, I do have the MFLB finishing grinder which goes to the ultimate fineness, but it's not really worth the effort for any of the vapes I have. I do think I can notice a difference between vaping with coarse - medium - fine chops. Fine tends to be thicker clouds and a faster extraction across the board.
The consistency is really good either way with the NV or the BCG fine, and so it shouldn't really make much difference. The leverage (outer diameter) of the NV seems to be quite large, so that will be a bit different in terms of ergonomics.
But the BCG is a great choice. If you want to chop up, you won't regret the BCG it makes the task all enjoyable.

This is my issue with the newvape, I absolutely dread having to get all the herb out of the grooves which causes me to load more at once so I don't have to keep cleaning it and I probably use more material than I should because of it.

So in your opinion the consistency on these is close enough and you still get a fast smooth extraction with the fine plate compared to a coarse grind?

I use a flower pot and I much prefer a finer grind because it Vapes fast and is not as harsh....I just don't wanna have to stir it forever to get an even roast ya know what I mean?

I don't have the New Vape grinder, but in my opinion the BCG Fine plate is fine enough.
I have tried a finer, as consistent grind with the MFLB finishing grinder. It might suit some conduction vapes better to go that small and fine/dusty, but it's hardly ever worth the effort of using that tiny hand-cramping thing.

That's interesting with the FP and fine grind not being as harsh. I would have thought it'd be the other way around, with coarse being more airy and terpy, and fine being more dense and harsher. Stirring is probably required regardless when it's required at all. That's disappointing, is it possible to set up the FP with some of the attachments to better achieve even extraction?

I find the Sublimator happily accepts any grind type, but it is a tiny bit faster at extraction with the fine plate. Smoothness more heavily depends on the type of flower, but I don't find it harsh with the right set up and/or bubbler.

I was in your same position about a month ago. I sold the NV fine grinder and ordered the BCG with the fine and medium plate.

I’ll report back in a week or so once I get it to let you know. Fingers crossed it was worth it.

I too dislike having to empty a grinder out on a piece of paper or whatever.
Any updates @fatbiker?

I'd bet the 3-piece ease was enough to make it a good purchase.

The BC fine plate will leave you with a fluffy product which is very similar to the NV fine grinder. The BC is the only grinder which has actually caused me to change my vaping routine!
^there you go @Snooppossum, you've been asking a while. You're still interested. My vote is to treat yourself!

I definitely can't get as fine a grind with my fine plate as I can grinding upside down in SCS or SLX, but yeah that is more of a hassle. The BCG isn't giving me the most consistently even grind either, but it depends on the buds, and it is fine enough as said above. Definitely way less hassle grinding in my BCG with fine plate! Even worked well on some dense nugs fresh off the plant yesterday... Of course a dryer dense strain will yield a finer grind than a more moist leafy one, sticky stuff!

they say im crazy but i have a good time
...so i had a moment the other day... i was drunk as fuck and been vaping for a many hours... i ground up some more herb in the bcg... the fucken thing was jammed and i could not turn it loose for the life of me... then i started laughing because theres no fucken threads :uhh::mental:... not sure what i was thinking i've only used this grinder solely multiple times a day for the last month or more...

Finally got mine the other day after changing color choices too many times....lol

I found that I do not need a fine plate so far......the medium plate seems to give me a grind that is a fine medium variant. I have only used a couple strains so far in it...so I need to test longer to see if I will ever need to use my fine plate.

I too have and love NV Fine Grinder. When I bulk grind (1/8 or a 1/4...like that) I do like to use the NV arm band version of their fine grinder because it gives me a better grip area and is a bit larger overall.

HOWEVER, I do think my BCG fine plate provides the most consistent, fine, and fluffy grind.

Some strains that grind quickly into dust in my NV (Blue Dream comes to mind) are ground perfectly in the BCG. Just can't over grind with it as its a three piece and once a certain size it falls through to the collection area.

Its a great grinder.....just want them to make a bigger one with more freeboard with which to grip it.

Welp, looks like they have sent the wrong colours. Just got an invoice on the 3rd to that effect! Below is the email chain of my correspondence with them so far.

On Mon., Apr. 15, 2019
Any of the purple/lavender available? They don't show on the main order page.

Hi,
Yes, we will start offering that colour. If you want to get the discount, make your order now. Just pick silver parts and then leave a note on the order saying that you want the purple/lavender colour.
We'll be making a new batch next week most likely.
Thanks for the order!
Best regards,
Kiyoshi

Could you place a hold on my order? Order # 2167.
Your colour selector shows a shift back to the original hematite. Yay!! But it doesn't show purple/lavender yet. And your photo gallery shows 2 different colours for that. Purple OR Lavender.
If you can place a hold on my order until after the purple/lavender run please do. That way I can look at it https://grindersforlife.com/bcg-preview/ .
As stated in my order, I have no issues with it being shipped super late compared to other 420 shoppers.

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. I just changed your order so we don't forget. Now, it says purple.
We are going to do another batch of that purple soon. It may be slightly darker this time though.
Best regards,
Kiyoshi

Almost there...
Here we go!!! It's been a review that has taken many months to come to fruition...
The time is now!

Tonight was the night the grinder JAMMED!!! We at least for the first turn or two and then it was back to being buttery smooth, with a slight notch in one area.

The final version of the grinder was delivered on 12 January 2019, about a week shy of 5 months of daily use without ever being cleaned. It has seem some of the stickiest bud Canada has to offer as well as some dried up herb, the whole gamut of herb has been run through this grinder.
Every new order of herb had something amazing in it that I needed to grind through to test the grinder! LOL!

I am loving the find plate grind, it's all I use and it's all I ever need.
Never a jam until tonight but in all seriousness, 5 months of torture testing and never being cleaned resulted in the jam. it was NO fault of the grinder at all! 100% user induced!
Buttery smooth action, after all the use it has built up quite a layer of resin and now has a click, where the rock hard resin contacts a tooth...
I still initially grind upside down, hence the two round marks of resin
Absolutely LOVE the thread-less design!! I cannot see myself ever unscrewing a base off a grinder again!
Love the shape!! DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING!!! I have seen it mentioned it is unstable, just be gentle with it.
I never have to clear holes of ground bud!

I feel as if I need to buy one in a different color scheme! It is that good!

So after 5 months of daily use, about 4 ounces of premium medical grade Canadian herb and not one cleaning, this is what my grinder looks like.
I cannot wait to clean it up and get it like new again!! I despise dirty grinders and this was a hard test...

The top plate

The Fine plate

And still, she grinds perfectly!!

I cannot recommend this grinder enough!
It will change your grinder game forever with it's effortless design.

I cannot thank @Grinders for Life enough for the honor to be a beta tester and have some of my ideas integrated into their grinder.
From the first version I received to the final version is a HUGE milestone and there were many revisions I never even saw due to almost immediate changes. These guys were on the ball from the start and have made an outstanding product that is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition!

Krazy...i think I just went blind and cross-eyed trying to read that dark thin purple text......have to highlight it....for now.

hummmmmm I had communication freely with them via email and everything went smooth. I had communicated this way because I changed my colors a few times prior to them having a few ready to ship. So they always made sure to send me an official invoice and I had to ok it.....I did that a couple times before I ok'd the last color choice and it went smooth.

Always resort to official email accounts....not social media or messaging from forums if email is available.

So after 5 months of daily use, about 4 ounces of premium medical grade Canadian herb and not one cleaning, this is what my grinder looks like.

That is pretty damn impressive! wow

Fucking Combustion (mostly) Since February 2017
Got mine today in Spain.

Very happy with it. No scratches, nothing, just perfect.

Opening it up without threads still feels 'unnatural'.

You'll get used to it. Eventually the twisting of threaded grinders will feel weird. I'd been waiting for many years for someone to create a grinder like this.

Just another note for how awesome GFL is.

I got my hematite not long ago. I opened the box and was really disappointed at how blue it was. It was much much more a deep shade of blue than I really wanted. I wanted gunmetal which is what shows on the website. So I emailed them.

They apologized for the off color run, and was willing to swap me for a silver one instead since that is the other color I mentioned in my email as something that would match my equipment. I was very grateful and accepted the offer. Didn't hear from them for a few days, so I emailed them again mentioning my order number and when / where they would like me to ship mine back to. And how long it would be to wait for a new silver one to be made.

They responded and told me that they would be sending me a label in the next few days and that he had shipped out a silver replacement 2 days ago and it would be here in a few days. I was floored.

I love supporting small companies that care about their customers. Amazing customer service.

I totally would have taken a blue hematite! But I do love my Sky Blue, it is a cool turquoise shade. Its just so pretty to stare at... Also a joy to use of course

Yas, that was all via email so I have a record.

I expect they will make it right and am only posting here to make sure that they notice it. Don't know what the issue is with email responses.
