MiniVAP Vaporizer

PALE BLUE DOT
I have the teflon QC premium kit (battery and power puck) and the decarb ring. I have the delrin adapter 14mm and I used to mate it with glass.

Man, what a device. It's been so underrated since it was released, and I agree that it shouldn't have been marketed as a portable necessarily, rather a desktop replacement, because that's what it feels like. Goes for similar money to a Volcano, and is a far superior vaporizer in my opinion (having used both, and having owned a MFLB and a Mighty).

I changed jobs not long after I got it, so it's been sitting quietly in the CaseLogic camera bag you get with the premium kit for ages. Wish I could plug it in a hit it on the couch.

Glad to see people still love it.
It’s like a retro vape?
Love da opulence of da MINIVAP!

Congrats on the new job but sucks about random testing... Kind of like a catch 22.
The MV is truly an amazing vape that is under rated and not very well known.
I saw you placed your setup in the for sale section, tough decision man!
One day you will be re-united!

Yeah, reluctantly selling since I can't use it. I figured it should be enjoyed by someone who can. I held onto it for as long as I could before conceding that I'm in this job for a while yet.

If/when that changes, I'll get another Minivap right away!

I'd be keen on grabbing that Minivap off ya. My Imp kicks ass but maybe want something more for session use at home. How much uerb does the Mini hold in its chamber?

Also @PPN haha I blame you for developing my VAS. Now I'm hot on your heels eyeing a MiniVap ;)

Speaking about how to use the minivap as a log vape. Just found you don't need the teflon tonG at all... just tried a 18mm glass joint as a bowl with a basket screen inside, screen is just under the lip's gong like for microdosing and to keep the nload close of the heater, load is still outside of the usual loading chamber of the Minivap but it still works like a treat!

The only advantage of the teflon TonG from HerbalAire is to be closer of the heater and to be better for true microdosing.

I'm sorry I didn't found that trick sooner cause I recommanded to some guys here to buy the tefon TonG from HerbalAire, I'm very sorry to misleaded you but I didn't thought the MV heater able to perform with so much distance between the heater and the load. For info I use a basket screen from @Alan which sits in a classic 18 to 18 male glass joint.

edit: I'm trying to recover from that one test bowl with the 18 to 18 male glass joint, loaded with some very dense Critical, I even didn't finished the bowl, 3 hits and I'm done... yes it happens vaporizing to be surprisingly powerfull!

re-edit: After a second try i want to say you to take my previous comments in this post with a grain of salt, it definitively works but the extraction and cloudage seems not at the level of the TonG... but I need to test that more cause my first bowl was very good although i tried a smaller load for second load which wasn't covering all the screen... although that loose load method works very well in the tong.

Does anyone know how frequently the firmware should be updated, and if it's even necessary? I haven't ever sent mine in (Teflon QC) for a service, still works like it did when I bought it. Wondering if I should?

Mine is also old, and beat up... frankly it could use a servicing but I am not interested in sending overseas but I would send it to Stickstones if he were servicing again.

My plastic molding that hooks the battery to the device has been chipped and so I don't always maintain a positive battery connection so I must handle with care. I'd also consider updating to a fast start versus the 7-10 min heat up time that mine usually requires.

BUT it still rips like day one. Used it today:cool:

Holding out for a 710 Sale. Hoping there is one so I can snag a glass Core one. Still haven’t landed on a solution to connect minivap directly to water piece minus any silicone. I hope to join the mix soon.

Unless their arrangement has changed.. Jorge recounted to me in April that Stickstones is in fact still servicing the product; as "it's a mess for non-European customers (also for us) to process the updates or repairs by sending the product to Spain." He further indicates that he (Jorge) remains active in his website newsletter, Facebook, and Instagram; and to look for periodic discounted offers in sales and service.

Taste Nirvana! (beyond reproach) to compliment the medical-build quality and overall durability of this finally engineered instrument.

Anyone else find the MV screen is the most maintenance-free screen of any vape they have ever used???

I've had mine in service for years and never have had to clean the screen- no matter how sticky the material. Fucking magical!

X2. Years of service and never had to clean the screen.
I assume you use the Flexicone baskets as it would likely be different with direct chamber loading.

I clean the main chamber about every 6 months, whether it needs it or not :)

Awesome unit that is still #1 in my vape collection

@MonkeyTime please explain yourself?

I think problems with the minivap are few and far between. Comming in here saying this without any explaining...

Well I guess now you have some explaining to do:p

I for one have also been using this vape for a few years, and have never had one problem? And I guess I am not alone?

Sorry guys, for both dropping that like that, with zero explanation, and then for disappearing for a bit. Life caught up.

I guess the simple story is that my MV experience just never really took off.

I watched this slow moving thread for a long time and when I saw the 420 sale I jumped in with both feet and was really excited. The extended time it took to get things working took away all my excitement and I lost interest.

Got the full kit with Peak core and decarb kit right away for fear that I really needed the glass, probably did! But thats on me. The order had issues and that's when the slow responses started. It was eventually sorted out and shipped, minus the decarb kit.

When I got that, it was the kit for the OG core, not the Peak, I guess we didn't know there was a difference yet. That too got sorted, but slowly.

During that time I had a number of odd issues, and now, it appears they were all due to a faulty power supply?

But the biggest problem has been timely responses. They've been great on this side of the pond, but the other has been between 1.5 and 6.5 weeks between replies. And unfortunately, the average has been over 4. It's made some simple issues take a very long time to take care of.

I did see that mentioned in the thread, so I'm not really complaining.....but like I said, I sorta lost interest.

In all fairness I too started to reply slower, it didn't seem to matter.

I will also say that all of the communication has been very nice and as helpful as some of our communication differences have allowed. And that is not on anyone IMO, it's a part of the fun we get with all the incredible world views and variance! (A wonderful aspect of FC if I don't say so myself). I've always felt the solutions were fair and I have had no negative communications.

It's been that nagging problem you want to take care of, but is never priority enough to do. This time because of road blocks slowing it down until it was almost shelved.

Now I've got a new power supply and it seems to have the unit working again! I wasn't aware there was an issue with them? I either missed that or misinterpreted his wording, he didn't sound surprised once we got thru troubleshooting.

I'm afraid all the time without charging or use has trashed my battery, but we'll see. I do think the power supply was bad from day one, the issues were always there, but never consistent enough to figure out.

I do remember from the couple of great sessions I did get in what I loved about it. Yes, the flavor! But I also remember the small bowl size. Think I'll do some reading, figure out how to get the most out of it and decide if some more accessories would fix that.

More info please!!
My OG core had to be sent back when they had a bad batch of cores. That was around 6 years ago and the only time I remember any issues...

Please back this comment up with some facts and what the manufacturer has offered to do for you.
They have always been stellar with my requests!
