finished reading and went ahead w/an Evo purchase based on your posts.
Currently, an uncivilized toker looking for a healthier way to consume.
Went w/the lynx & whip set up.
Big step out of my zone, lol.
I hoping my wife will be more willing to try the Evo.
So far, she hasn't warmed up to (pun intended) smoking w/me as the smoke is too harsh for her.
Any ideas on making a more pleasant 1st time experience for her w/the Evo?
My biggest concern is dosage. It seems most get really blasted the 1st time they use the Evo.
My goal is to help put her in the mood if you know what I mean..

Since your wife is new I would fill the ELB about 1/3 full and start at 11 on the dial. It will taste great at that temp and won't be harsh. Tell her to inhale normally and that there is no need to do a lung buster. Take a hit....wait 5 to 10 minutes and you may want to stop at two hits for her. If your wife is like mine.....the Hallmark Channel has some very romantic movies.....

Not sure what strain I smoked in Jamaica.. It was grown on the mountain-side. The plants grew like trees; The bud full of seeds. Cured in the sun most likely? They would roll spliffs with tobacco, also grown on the mountain-side. Thought it would be extremely harsh but it smoked very well.

It certainly was old, I looked up my original purchase receipt and I got it all the way back in 2014. I knew of one other unit that had a runaway heater - and actually it was almost brand new when it happened. I'm either going to send the unit to VXC to do a post mortem or if they aren't interested I'll do it myself.
Well that is good to hear, I've only ever broken one bamboo that I am aware of, and that was on my original cloud. The one in my evo was getting very loose though, it rattled like a purple days even if you slightly moved it.
All this being said, VXC are going to take care of me. I'm really appreciative of how they treated the issue.

I'm back to give my little feedback after i received my EVO
The EVO heats very quicly, only 1'30 mn approximately to reach 12oclock temp, it's very good, i appreciate it so much
Little burn odor when it start to heat but i think it was dust, after that no odor
First time i start burned my weed a 13-14 oclock but i didn't notice it until i take off the basket, the fume/vape was good and no harsh so i didn't know i just found the taste was different
Second time i tested at 11 oclock it was very good, no harsh, only 4 puffs to vape the 0.1g bol, i love this ! My VTower was giving me a harsh vapour, now it's just pleasure !
It can whistle yes, but you have to inhale hard, and i think it's counterproductive because of the temp stability, so the whistle is good feature finaly, you can take great puff until the sound.
Now a little question for you EVO users, could you look inside your EVO and tell me if you have this in yours, i don't know if it's a normal thing, i see a "line" in the bamboo, i don't think it's broke i think it's inside the glass but i'm not sure

I don't have a line as clearly visible as yours but I do have a very hazy, blurry, shadow in a similar area. My "shadow like line" hardly shows even when I shine a light in the bamboo. My line may or may not be what your seeing.

This is normal. Just a reflection of the heater coil. The bamboo also has four cylinders just like the top one you see in the picture above. This is what makes the whistle you hear.Hi guys,

Happy Friday! I'm feeling good after lots of exercise week and I'm on the EVO again. I went for the #1 Strawberry Cough quality flower (and batch) experience .
I'm loving the EVO ecosystem. I used the Helio dry mouthpiece with the heater at 11 o'clock on the dial, from cold with no heat soak. The vapor was so dense there were clouds
, even from the first draw. That ELB loading tool still stands out as a great tool .
@Chronic Thinker, congratulations on the buy
. The EVO is an excellent choice for your wants. I'll mention that your wife may prefer a more elegant solution to the whip, and putting a Helio mouthpiece on top the the lynx may better. You'll have to find out from her. The hydratubes are next level customizable for vapor quality 
. Many have quite a collection here. Try hot water in the Lynx too. I also recommend distilled water to keep the water piece free of water stains.

The best way has been for me to watch my draw times and not go over. I typically do 15 seconds per draw with a 10 second hold. IIRC that's a decent draw. How do other people draw here on the EVO? Any sippers?
I heard second hand that VapeXhale is not producing any more full sized hydratubes (including the swiss options). Anyone hear/know anything?

The support team respond to me pretty quickly that for them there was no problem with that, they asked me to put my lips on the joint and a finger bellow the bambboo, no air leak no problem !
Like @buckhakeesah and @Vaporooni i think it must be the coil ending.
Now i vape on 10 oclock, i don't know if my EVO is too powerfull but with this setting if i vape my weed totally (until no vapor appear) and look a the vaporized gear i can see 1% black/burned, it's nothing but it let me think the vaporization is not homogenous, it may have some conduction with the basket i don't know, i will try at 9oclock.
BTW i love my EVO, it's so pleasant to put "on" and vape almost immediatly a dense and tasty vapor, in the past it was sometimes more easier to re-light a joint in the ashtray or use my Vapcap than wait for a long my VTower to warm, now it's so convenient

About the whip... I was very close to going with your set-up (1 dry HT and 1 wet), but in early posts there was a discussion regarding emf output from the Evo. Decided its better to sacrifice some flavor for the extra safety of being further from the device. Also, someone mentioned the whip is more like smoking a joint. I still plan to experiment with removing the lynx for the 1st few hits or leave dry and add water to finish the elb.
There was a Evo product review, on another site, which mentioned the Heatshield also was designed to contain efm output? However, I was not able to verify..
Putting the helio on on top of the lynx is a great idea! May still try that down-the-road..

There are lots of variables @Above2cloudz that may account for that behavior in your EVO. How full is the ELB? Is it packed/tamped? How big and long are the draws? Is the EVO heat soaked or not? How many draws? Fresh (moist) or dry flower? Got a picture of the AVB?...... A strength of the EVO is being able to really dial in the unit for personal optimum performance. Try different temps. And like you said, the convenience of the EVO ecosystem is top notch .

Here's a first view of the fresh flower. Visible furry trichomes, lots of pistils and dense nugs show how potent this batch is .

Just heard directly from the souce, that they have no "current" plans on bringing the Hydrabases back into stock.Also, the new Graphite Hydratubes are the new norm and the clear glass will be phased out. Kinda really disappointed by all this. Not sure if I want to pick up another hydrabomb (I was told this is the last of their clear glass stock!) or move it on over to the Flowerpot tbh..
I'll check out planet vape.. I thought I saw some there a while back!
Well, this news sucks... not that I need any more glass!
The graphite just looks to me like it would be more difficult to tell when it's dirty.
Last HT I bought was that last recycler they had.

@Jtwpayne, was the flower at the same moisture levels both times? That makes a huge difference. Also I do get some variability in ELB loads over the course using up a nug (many many sessions), sometimes there's more sugarleaf in a particular ELB, etc. You mention doing only a couple sessions too, I'd give it some more use and go through more ELBs before drawing much for conclusions. And have you tried lowering the temp? I can take draws at 11:00 (320F) at 30%-50% ELB and get clouds. I recommend trying it, maybe that gets you closer to your optimum experience. . Hope that helps
