@VaporWare that's perfectly written, thank you. Should we make a blog post with accompanying timeline photos?

the nv control is adjustable from 0 - 2373f (i've never tried it above 1000f) we are operating the flowerpot in the 500-800 f range. I mention this because there is plenty of bandwidth to allow the user to completely adjust the vape to their own preference. All of the heads are different in there own way. These induction coils were designed for industrial applications. I've yet to replace a coil due to normal use. If i'm awake, and home my WE is powered up and set to 600f. Some people like to take their material to the edge of combustion in 2-3 draws. I prefer to savor the flavor which I believe is found with lower temps, and less dense clouds. I don't like coughing and don't mind leaving something for the avb brownies.

My opinion is based on the input from @NewVape710 . If I didn't have my SH right now, and were looking to buy between the SH and WE, I'd still personally go with the SH for my usage. I run my SH at 737, I'm not looking to keep my WE at 837 for comparable performance.

So, I run my WE at 585. After reading your post, I bumped it up to 700 just to see. Burned the shit out of my weed on the first draw. I'm a little mystified at how 700+ degrees doesn't combust for you? Maybe smaller bowls with faster draws?

Search this thread for "high rollers"
It's that type of one hit extraction that truly separates the Flowerpot from the rest of the pack.

@nodrog please remember the slower the air flows thru the head the hotter it will be when it contacts your material.

the air flow is effected by draw speed of the individual, and restrictions of their pipe. these conditions will vary from person to person and from pipe to pipe.

I'm not suggesting you vary your draw strength. I'm suggesting you adjust the flowerpot temp around your air flow rate to achieve desired results and avoid the possibility of combustion. When I make adjustments to my temp I usually only do it in 10 deg increments. This becomes very challenging when letting your friends use the flowerpot. Or at trade shows where draw strengths are all over the place. For these varying conditions we must set the temp very low and compensate by feathering the carb caps. It's not ideal but it keeps from combusting.

..in my continuing experiments with all three heads there are a number of salient points...part of the equation is what piece (glass) you're using, whether it's 14 or 18.. and size of tank , said piece holds..all three fluctuate their temps depending on piece I use..having a bang.. experimenting..hope this adds some clarity.

It also matters what kind of perc you have. The new vape glass that came with my VRod had a perc that was smooth as silk without needing a herd draw (not sure what it was) and I ran it at 650 easily but the glass piece that I already had just had a down stem with a slit so it chugged (glug, glug, gulf, glug)and requires 680 to get same performance for me.

Perhaps for Edwyn’s desired result he needs to raise temps 100 degrees when shifting from SH to WE, at 747 I did not have to do that. That said I am one person, but I am pretty certain the WE would have no issue with a group. The PID is very quick to recover any temp drop resulting from a draw.

I also have an affinity for the builder. But let me give this some more thought. If it wasnt for ALL the variables.

For some reason hat comes to mind right now for decision making as far as FP is concerned Is the "yes/no" chart someone made on this forum. I thought it was super clever. Perhaps I can borrow a little insight from that chart. Does anyone remember where it is?

@newvape918 Glad to help! I have no problem figuring out the site and what to buy, but new people coming in who are on a budget that only allows for a minimal setup are often confused about what they absolutely have to get for a working setup, what’s nice to have, and what’s not necessary for most people.

I think @invertedisdead is right though; it might be best to focus people on the builder, and make sure they can understand just from that page what’s critical and what’s not.

Some color coding and/or more clearly delineated sections might help. For example, I see the functionality is there to keep you from buying without adding a post, but it’s a little confusing.

There is a small * next to that option and if you try to hit Add to Cart without checking an option there it does give a small red message saying it’s required (up by the post options with no indication near the button you’re looking at), but it could be made much more clear before and after trying to hit the Add to Cart button that this is the one required selection.

Those pages are almost there, they just need a little more work on the visual side!

The video might need to be updated or deleted. I was attempting to inform people that they should expect to use a higher temp setting when using the weedeater vers the showerhead. Remember the showerhead has the big dish above the coil to help retain heat that the weedeater doesn't have. After using the WE for a few months I feel that delta might be more like 20-40 deg and not 100.

Vapefiend needed to change the name from weedeater to eater to help appease the web restrictions associated to his location. Customers should know that Vapefiend is selling the same exact product that's being sold on newvape.

Thank you to FC for introducing newvape to Vapefiend they are a tremendous asset. and a true joy to work with.

sorry for the double post

@YaMon @newvape918 I like the chart a lot, very helpful! My only thought is I respectfully suggest that the decision between the SH & VRod is more about the dabbing surface than terp pearls. So imo tbh, the first thing a new NV customer (that does concentrates) in 2019 needs to know is VRod is a definite improvement on flavour over the SH’s Ti trough. I just can’t imagine anyone preferring to dab on Ti in this day & age so I believe that needs to be said loud & clear at the start. Thanks for doing this outta the kindness of your heart.

Thank you for posting...kind of like the guys at Vapefiend....bought a few small things from them over time and the transactions have all been quite satisfactory.

And, I agree that coils, rigs, air flow rate, relative dryness of your flower, and most of all personal preferences all impact temp on your FP.

Me, I run with my SH at 700 F as the set point (no idea what the head temp is at say the dab surface as I haven't measured it...well, yet) and a carb cap.

I tend to go for the gusto...that is, I almost entirely vape at night prior to bedtime for pain and sedation and generally want strong effects quickly. This does it for me.

I expect the FP SH to last so long that I will have to think about which relative to will it to when I pass.

I just can't see this thing every breaking.....but I'm hard on equipment so there is no telling! haha

just_the_flu

they say im crazy but i have a good time
...so I've been using three pearls in my showerhead using the shower cap (diagonal air hole) and I feel I can kill a bowl quicker in one hit... Pretty sure I got the idea from someone who posted earlier...

I highly recommend anyone who hasnt tried their FP (any of the variants) with the glass in my sig, to try one.

Minimal water that the vapour passes through, minimal percolation, minimal can, maximum vapour. Cant wait to try it with a DCup.

Agreed! Having made that switch, the VRod/SiC was a huge difference in flavour.

Yes, balls have been discussed quite a bit lately. I will have 20 more 5m SiC balls in a few days. Going to do some comparisons with # of balls and will post the results.

Does anyone have DCUP footage? I have seen the NV videos, but still curious to see how people are doing with it.

I bought a bunch of SiC balls, due in the mail today!

With the quartz balls, I think I hit my limit at 4. With the Vrod at 700 on my nv controller, I am not burning my concentrates (there's still a small film to qtip, nothing roasted on the sic bowl) but I'm getting a huge, flavorful and fast first hit! Then a couple smaller, wispy clean-up hits. But that first hit is so intense...I'm stopping at 4 balls. So it's different from a big hot/burned hit.

So I plan on trying 2 SiC balls with 2 Quartz balls at a time later when I get home. I feel like the quartz adds a little something extra to the flavor profile with the SiC bowl.

At this 700, I'm either capping 1 to 2 huge hits on flower (on 18mm rigs), or multiple non / semi-capped hits on 14 mm rigs.

I look forward to your findings! Interestingly, your description of concentrate use is the same performance I feel I'm getting at 580f! I wonder if your dabs are that much larger than mine, or some other difference accounts for this. Interesting.

Open question, is there a SiC ball seller that has been used by forum members that ISNT an ebay seller?

Comparing to the numbers/performance of two other local friends that also have Newvape coils and controllers (one has the Vrod, the other the WE...and I have the WE guys Vrod now), I feel like my controller is showing high. I feel like my 700 number is actual 600-630.

I'm using the same coil and controller that I used for over a year on the wrap-around sic head. With that, I was getting about the same heat on dabs at around 600. The WA head is smaller overall, so I'm sure that plays a factor.
