Wow....Hopper Labs...I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried...sigh

Seriously? And I presume that your V1/2 was NOT working well...so the new one is not working well either?

Its so frakin hard to determine if they really have made any progress at all on reliability and consistency of performance.
Not difficult for me to determine at all. They haven't. 2 out of 3 of my current units supposedly have the latest and greatest V5 internals and they're as finicky as ever. The old one is actually working best out of the 3 at the moment. Still getting rapidly flashing lights and sometimes early red dead battery flashing lights LONG before the battery is actually dead on the latest repaired unit.

I wish there was some rhyme or reason to all this. I have 2 hoppers. The TI one is working amazingly since the day I got it. just. Flawless. (2+ months in now with daily usage)

The SS one was a little cold, not terribly, but enough to bug me a bit. I sent them an email and they said that they would adjust it and send it right back. I sent it in last week and they are shipping it back to me this week...

So again. Very confusing. I have only had good experiences with them, nice email threads with them and great customer service all around. Even last year when I had two other hoppers that didn’t work very well, they worked with me until they did and I didn’t wait months a time to get it back. They were always returned to me in fine condition. They had just started with the v4 at the time, so there were still some problems to work out. I needed cash soon after that and had to sell them, but they worked well when I had them at the end.

I wish there was a way to figure out the process here, since it seems to range wildly between different people.

I received my hopper just the other day and love it so far. Super impressed by the build quality, it really shows the passion that went in to it. For those that don’t have one, the threading is just so smooth. And everything seems purpose built.

In terms of comparisons, I have the majority of the well regarded vapes, Omnivap with induction heater, mighty , Tubo evic, wood scents. Since I got in to the dynaverse and the different stems, I had put down all my other vapes. So far this makes me want to put down my dynavaps... it’s just genuinely fun to use. I do get battery anxiety, but I’m working on that by ordering additional batteries. However, considering the power of the unit I’m actually impressed the battery lasts as many bowls as it does.

This. The best part is going back and forth between the two and loving them for what they are. I usually use one for a few weeks and then move back to the other. I have 0 problems with my Hopper since getting it, and of course my OmniVap works perfectly every time. My Fluxer induction heater makes using the DV a truly wonderful experience. The two vapes work so so so well together to cycle between. I get the experience I want, and I get to go back and forth between the two vapes and it just makes them both more fun to use at the end of the day.

All who wander are not lost...
Sent HL another message via my RMA thread several days ago and haven't heard back from them. It's completely illogical how they're handling RMAs and, frankly, I'm a bit pissed. At them, not everyone herein. In fact, jealous for those whose Hoppers are working well because I know when it works well, it works well and greatly enjoyed nearly everything about it. But that was literally the half life of my 2+ year ownership. We'll see if they can restore my faith in them and re-introduce me to a properly working Hopper again...

BTW, it's mid May and where the heck are the batteries? Their site now says May/June. Slippage yet again. Yeah, I ordered a few (and a silicone tip) figuring my unit would be back soon. SIGH. :peace:

EDIT: I didn't get an email that my RMA thread was updated yesterday and just checked my account out of curiosity. They said, "We do service devices that have minor problems or do not require complete parts swap as soon as we can if we have those items in stock. Your unit is in a line with many others who is waiting for some parts that are a bottleneck. We are working to resolve this and get them to your ASAP." Complete parts swap vs. some parts that are a bottleneck. I guess I don't really understand the difference or what they're exactly referring to. Maybe it's more of the same from them. To be continued...

I'm embarrassed to say that I've been waiting for a stainless steel case from this outfit since Mar.8, 2018! My story is similar to Samuel Beckett's novel "Waiting for Godot" . In the end, Godot never shows up .

Just a quick word to all you new hoppers!

STRAP IN! and then strap out and wait in the other room while hopper labs does their thing because they are not fast, on point or fully in control...but their vape kicks ass

It is in its own class of everything and it's more like buying a super finicky race car then a Volvo

If you want great customer service, reliable product and little change of failure then your in the wrong side of town

This is the hoppy part of town not arizer's gated community! This is where boys turn to men and men turn back into boys whining about their broken hoppers  if I could enforce one law it would be

"don't buy a hopper as your only vape"

Nice for you but mine is at GHL since september and everytime I ask (no update if Ididn't asked I bet) they give another promise " 1-2 monthes", "6-10 weeks" and I'm still awaiting...

All my messages were friendly and absolutely not agressive at all...

Why customer service is not equally applied to all customers?
Is the people who bought directly from GHL get best treatment? Is the US/canadian customers too?
Is second hand devices peoples payed to transfer a GH ownership get worst treatment?

I'm not claiming anything but ask questions to the community to understand better how the GHL customer service works.

@PPN: Hopper Labs’ customer service works in random and mysterious ways. I think they are still working on units sent in last summer so you are not necessarily getting left behind. It’s more like they have a huge backlog and they have not been making nearly as much progress as promised.

Being nice may not be the best tactic with HL. The squeaky wheel seems to get the grease there. Being assertive yet respectful may be the best approach.

I'm pretty sure that they have never fulfilled any promise, or even met a projection, that they have made to the owner community.

Yes, its a great vape when it works and yes, my OG Ti worked well for 18 months of light use.

But there are no excuses for the company's behavior overall and I often wonder at those who are apologists for them as there is nothing in fact (as in, an event which occurred) to support an positive view of them.

I’ve tried that approach - squeaky wheel and assertive yet respectful - and it fell on deaf ears. Here’s a quick comparison with another product company I’ve pleasantly dealt with:

My HR F2 suffered from a power drain after 2 bars (50%) and then the mouthpiece wouldn’t stay on. Shipped it back to them last weekend and I received an email today they recieved it. Ok, typical (except for HL). I get another email a minute later that they’re sending me a new unit under their 1 year warranty. Simply fantastic (unlike HL). HL has a long way to go - and my Ti is still in RMA. The grass is indeed always greener on the other side! :):peace:

Having issues with my rebuilt hopper received in October. Taking 10-15 seconds to turn blue and isn't hitting as hard ..at least i have the back up and it's hitting hard and only takes 4 seconds for heatup. Still stinks

Time to start looking for a new vape i guess

I'd try a Q-tip scrub on the postive battery terminal, 1000 grit sandpaper on the negative terminal, blu tack and/or deoxit on the back-end (and body) threads and compressed air through the chamber and intake holes.

I've had a bit of varied experience with my repaired units but that usually spruces them back to life.

It's not a back end issue as the spare body is working great with the same backend. Who knows.

Yeah, and maybe hang a dead chicken from a bridge while reciting Santeria chants. Sigh...the above is the definition of design fail. I mean, we have a whole resource thread on secret tricks and techniques that may or may not work in order to get your Hopper to work.

Molten...this isn't a shot at your post. Its the best advise that we have. But the fact that we need to do this reading of the tea leaves and sacrificing virgins to the GH gods is just plain wrong.

Yeah it was new v5 internals and I've kept good care of it. Last one was about 7 months of heavy use as well. These things just don't last beyond that Imo. Sadly takes twice as long to fix and send it back or it would

I hear you, but you should do the same self service with a decent flashlight. Optimise the current path and obtain better performance.
Usually does the trick.

However it's not going to be too surprising if it is heater degredation given the time frame.

I guess @elykpeace has tried the other back end on the dodgy body?
Still worth checking all the points of contact, but if that's the case it might be a bit of an ordeal to sort out via warranty.
Such is the way of the hopper :(

Yeah spare body is working great prob going to put it all up on the exchange. Grabbing a @FocusV all black magna carta and going the concentrate route here soon anyways. Stinks the other body is messed up hopefully Incan get it working again before selling. Either way I have it on its own email and account
