Ed's WoodScents Log Vape - Ed's TnT

I'm sorry for the double post but I can't edit my prior one. Please excuse this faux pas.

I got a chance to play more with my WS last night. The load size really does make a big difference. Thanks again everyone for pointing that out. So although I prefer a more restricted airflow, the WS clearly performs better when the airflow is not restricted from overloading the bowl which makes complete sense. Duh.

Also enjoying the VVPS. I do find myself changing the temp more often than expected and it's nice to see a digital readout of the temp when I am changing it. I still haven't taken it beyond 12.3V but man this thing is so so efficient. Milks up a water piece so quickly. Sweetspot seems to be between 11.2 - 12.3. I tried to go lower temp at first but there is a big difference in extraction speed when I get into the 11s. I'm sure the heaters have some sort of variance between each unit so YMMV.

Bear with me all, this is my first WS and also first log vape. Again, the advice was very much appreciated. Also for those who don't know yet, @Ed's TnT is releasing a new butane powered vape. He has a post on IG and I believe they will be ready in about 3 weeks maybe less:

To begin with I have a walnut WoodScents with the number 13 on the bottom. So I've had it awhile. Some how it was placed in a box on a shelf in the back room. I rescued it and now I can't remember what voltage I ran it at on the controller. I can't even remember where I got the controller. It's from another log vape, has a digital read-out. It was recommended at the time. Doc

Never mind I just got my head out of my butt, and found it. Doc
It's an Underdog controller.

You only have a couple of hours in which to edit your posts. . . after that time double posting is fine.

Six hours, I believe.

I thought my dial controller might have been starting to fail, so I removed it, and have been enjoying using my Woodscents at full power.

Hellow fellow log-enthusiasts!

I currently own an e-nano, but ever since I started using it I knew I wanted another log, and I really dig ed's style, with the vapcaps etc.
I am in europe so I have to use a converter for my nano, which I think I can avoid with a WS? The main issue is silence, as the converters eventually whine after prolongued use.

Oh well, Just checking in!

I've had my eyes set on a Thuya Burl WS for over a year now, and might be able to afford one finally, in the near future...

Have a nice day y'all! I'm already enjoying going over this thread! Luckily it's not as much reading as the nano thread :D

Hello everyone, seems I am running about a month behind like normal round these parts. I hope all is well for everyone and the summer is starting off nicely. Been awful freaking hot this way way more so than whats typical this time of year. We went straight into summer with a sweltering 100 degree heat for a few days ughhh. All is good here just slammed as ever probably even more so with all thats going on. Have released the PipeScents and am nervously awaiting feedback from all the customers. Really anxious to know and fingers crossed all is positive. I am told dont sweat it, its a winner winner but cant help but be nervous as its like sending out a little one into the world all by himself. Did em in Cocobolo and Blackwood
PipeScents%20Blackwood%20%20-%20Ed's%20TnT-500x500.png

Only did a few in Blackwood and majority in Cocobolo. Moved almost all the first batch, way cool. They should be arriving today and be in the hands of most users. Really enjoyed making these and look forward to doing more ASAP. Am hearing good things about it from a couple users and will be posting a video demo/review of it from one of them soon.

Am going to be moving this month again, moving back to the country. Gotta move the family and now 2 shop buildings but have everything lined up and should be dry as a bone so praying this goes smoothly and there is no hitches in the giddy up. Looking like the shop and the biz will be down from the June 21st - 30th. really hoping its back up and running before the 30th and so so praying not to many past the 30th if there is any unforeseen issues. Thats going to mean that orders will be delayed and and hope you will let anyone out there know if they make mention.

Have also begun turning the new 2019 WoodScents design into production.

Its same size OD and in length. I changed up the midsection giving it a couple v grooves and center angle as well as a couple burn bands to accentuate them a bit. Did the larger wider groove up high near the top, wasnt planing on it but the thumb fits nicely in it when holding. Think maybe it was subliminal, made me want to hold it more so lol. Left a sharp edge into the upper cavity with a slight angle for a flat edge to another sharp edge. I have posted pics on IG and overall everyone is liking it but there was a couple that didnt and hey thats fine. I am working to release these into next month after the move and all has settled down.

Am doing more and more pieces for the DV, not sure I told you all I have added 45mm MS to my site and also added 3 species I am offering internationally in Ebony, Tigerwood and Canarywood. Have also done a new style 45mm length WPA in 14mm that will be sending the first batch to a good dealer of mine in the UK. Am sure I will be adding these to my site as well in the near future so stay posted.

Uhhhhh not sure but think I have covered all the happenings and goings on round here for the most part. If I didnt pls get at me and will try to do so.

@Alex3oe Omgosh, Senor Chance has become quite the member of the family and an intergral part of the shop team lol. He is quite the character and has been needed round here for a while. Sure do miss Mr. Biscuits, he will never be replaced. Senor Chance has been a blessing.

@Madri-Gal Hey thanks for welcoming him, I appreciate it. I also appreciate all the kind words you have been sharing for the stems I did for you, am most grateful and thank you for that. I am glad to hear you are enjoying them as you are and hope you do for a long time to come.

@Modicum Lookout, you back in the saddle again!!!

@AJS Bro you so deserve that trophy, you are the MAN!

@Ramahs You are so correct in your post, there is alot to like about the WS and to each their own right. Wood is good and WoodScents makes the best sense. Yeah be hard to compare it to the DV sinmce its not capped and the only thing the same is the tip and the filter disc within the WS tip.

@LesPlenty Bro you rule with the 2 WS a once!

@BigJr48 I believe there is but there is so many factors and variables that can play into whether it is or isnt. This is a complicated question and see there has been many comments on this subject, am trying to catch up now.

@flammy I am glad to hear thats so, maybe by now you are. I feel you are right about the air flow restriction. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying the WS more and more. I have said it here before many times, a good finger grind to your material then using the straw method load the tip, give it a light tamp just so you dont have any debris falling out onto the heat port or so it isnt resting on the filter disc, then draw long and slow for the win. As for variances in the heaters there should be none to very very little if any. These arent stock ready to go heaters, they are made when ordered and in a batch where they are tested at the end of the process and pass or they dont and get trashed at the manufacturer. Thanks for spreading the word of the PS and posting the links, I appreciate it.

@arb I feel that for flower. I have never had kief in it so cant say but with flower somewhat not so tight loads with flower work great and air flow is better.

@Chandler I feel you "In my opinion however, you must grind your herbs for best results with WS. Then it reciprocates nugs in vc. better flavor, potency, hits. The whole convection thing comes to mind, n makes sense. WS is not vc. They're just compatible." Wise words.

@Dynalowrider Wow bro its been a while and #13 huhm gosh have done alot since then, am well over #500+ now. Glad you found that gem and have gotten to use it again, lol scorpion arent cool at all and can ruin a good time quickly. Is good to see you round here and hope all is well your way.

@Modicum I like how you said that, nice.

@UnevenPizza Hello and thanks for stopping by and your interest in my work. WS is a 12V system, let me know when you order as I have 12vPS with the EU plug configuration I can put in your order. You will be good to go and ready to rock and rip. Just turned a beautiful 2019 model in Thuya this morning.

Hope all is well everyone and wish you all the best.

I wish you luck on your move , @Ed's TnT . Senor Chance should enjoy the new digs. Thought of you when the Black Acacia out back was being trimmed. Along the lines of "I wonder what Ed could do with this..." I'm stoned, but wouldn't something from a tree one grew be kewl?

Ahhhh not sure how many of you know about #flipfloplife and how I roll but its the best way to turn and frankly get around. I hate turning in socks and shoes, wood chips and bits get in your shoes and in your socks and they are sticking in your feet and never come out of the socks ever. I am a FF turner lol, that and I can get away with wearing em cause its so freaking hot here for the most part and pretty much casual Friday all days lol. Any how National Flip Flop day is June 14th. and to celebrate this holiday I am going to do a significant discount on all 2018 WoodScents models. Am thinking a 2 day sale and will have more info in the next few days. Be a great time to grab a WS.

@Madri-Gal Thanks for the kind words and so hope it goes well. Ohhh wow you should have grabbed some, would be neat to do you a piece from it, even better a live edge piece maybe with some bark upper and lower with finished midsection rrrrr very cool.

@Alex3oe Hey hey, appreciate that very much, thanks!

I'm going to be the only asshole in the room and say that I'm honestly not drawn to the new look.

Maybe it's the flat top, or the more cylindrical overall look with less curves...but it's not really doing it for me like the last couple of shapes have.

(*Ramahs grabs something to use as a shield and ducks behind the kitchen table he just flipped on it's side, in preparation for the onslaught*)

------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note, I think my dial/dimmer has failed. My Woodscents has started to just cool off to still-warm, but a bit below vaping temps on occasion...till eventually it would just go alost cold at some times. I verified this by removing the dial all-together and just using my Woodscents at full-power (works great!).

However, I rarely, but occasionally, want some slightly cooler hits (around 8.5 on the dimmer dial is where I go when I want lighter-softer-cooler hits that I can sip on for a while), so I may need to get myself the VV controller soon.

Anyone have opinions on the different brands/models out there? I'll probably go with Ed's, but I know that there are more brands/models out there that would be compatible, and I'm curious if anyone has experimented with any of the various others.

Ed's is good, most are the same but Ed checks and backs his if you have a problem.

My apologies for my insolent blasphemy, @Ed's TnT .

*late night edit*

Well, maybe I'm wrong about my dial/dimmer. Plugged in full power (been using it off and on over the last couple of hours), and I just loaded a new bowl and now my log is below vaping temps and the wood at the very top is starting to get cool to the touch, despite me checking and making sure that all connections are securely plugged in. Maybe it's actually been the power adapter the whole time?

I need to order one and see.....

I personally really like the new grooves and center angle but not as much of a fan of the burn bands. I generally like accents such as that and like the burn bands that you put on my stem but just not sure about having them on the unit itself. It seems like it may not look that great against certain species. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the info on the heaters. I've had zero issues getting my WS to work like it should after I adjusted my load size. It's working great. Operating closer to 11 on the VVPS now.

Good morning everyone, I will be starting the sale the 14th thru the 16th. I have quite a few 2018 model WS that I am going to offer at 15% off. There are several great species and a few high end that could go at a heckofa deal. You will need to use code FF2019 to take advantage of it and hope you will do so. The couple of BuckEye Burl WS I have, one has a bit of live edge void on the upper end and the other has 3 small LE open holes in the upper cavity, I will post up pics ASAP on those. Got a couple Cocobolo, couple curly Maple, a big leaf Maple Burl, ohhhhh a stunner Armanian Caucassian Walnut Burl, a few Walnut and Maple and others. Dont miss out and hate yourself!

@letter never sent might be a good time for you to grab one.

@Ramahs Bro its all good, I dont expect everyone to love every look I turn out, to each their own. I appreciate your honesty and for posting up, its not the end of the world nor something you should be scorned over either. BTW the top does have an angle to it, is not flat and does angle downward from inside out. Bro I am here for you and what ever you find out pls keep us updated. If I need to get it in hand and look under the hood be happy to. As far as VVPS the one I offer is the same as the others out there but as said I check every one of mine and offer a warranty. Will say that I have something cooking and have for a while now in an alternative for a VVPS that will be available in the future and hoping that its sooner rather than later. A VVPS that will really compliment the WS from look and flow. I feel you all will be very excited to see and enjoy how it performs. No way bro, no hard feelings nor ill will, you are the man!

@Madri-Gal Well said.

@LesPlenty Thanks bro.

@JEMSKU Hello and welcome to FC, appreciate you stopping by and hope if there is anything I can do pls let me know know.

@flammy No sweat as I said to @Ramahs I dont expect everyone to fall head over heals in love with all my pieces. I feel the burn bands just give the unit a touch of flare this model. Thats it, once you have your technique right the WS does the rest. Glad you found your spot.

If I have missed anything or you all have any questions about the sale or anything else pls let me know.

Hello and good evening, just to clarify before sale starts the 15% off discount is valid only to WS packages. The coupon code does not extend to any other products.

Starts to tonight at midnight. Wish you all the best and hope you are able to grab a deal before its gone.

I have a Cocobolo Woodscents on the way.

I’ve been interested in log vapes since I first started vaping, but the stars haven’t aligned until now. I remember looking at the Purple Days before purchasing my first unit. I strongly considered both the Underdog and E-Nano at various points. I even made it to my turn on the list for a HI, but couldn’t make room for it at the time.

Finally jumping in with the Woodscents, and I’m super excited!
