I'm not sure it's reasonable to expect a brand new app to work on that old of a mobile OS. 11 maybe, but 10 is a stretch. Just don't hold it against the company if it's not compatible!

I'm just saying, I purchased a Pax less than 6 months ago and the Pax app (another simple bluetooth app to change temperatures) works great on all of my devices, all the way back to iOS9.

Unless I'm genuinely the only one on these devices, it's going to alienate a lot (millions?) of people if it's not supported.

I realize without the app this device is not really usable though.

I have never used the app and I still love my Carta, even at low temps, I didn’t even bother downloading it because it’s still a beta and no final version has been released.....yet

Also, focus was in Italy a week ago and traveling now, I’m not sure why customer service would be declining, I ask stuff in the streams and get direct support, message on IG and get direct support and filed a claim for a atty I broke myself and they replied and I had new one 72 hrs later.

It’s a team of a handful of people with less then a couple of thousand of units out in the public, pax is one of the largest vape companies with teams of people and hundreds of thousands of pax on the market

You purchased the pax 6 months ago but its been in existence for years now. When the app came out ios 9 was still heavily in use and 10 was only a few months old, so when they actually designed the device it was made for ios 9 and beyond. By the time focus v started on this ios 9 would have been a few years old. We're at ios 12 now and most ppl update their phones yearly so ios 9 is virtually obsolete

Can you prove that statement?

It seems more reasonable that the lower price of this device targets it at the type of demographic who doesnt buy a new cell phone every year?

And your Pax comment is irrelevant because it supports newer devices as well. We're referring to a basic Bluetooth app. Not Apple CarPlay.

https://david-smith.org/iosversionstats/ 96% of iphone users are on ios 11 or higher. Also, it's not irrelevant at all. IOS 10-12 can do everything ios 9 can do so there's no reason for it to not to work on ios' past 9. Going backwards isn't the same ergo my statement that it's made for 9 and beyond(meaning 9 or higher.) It probably wont work on IOS 7 and it shouldn't be expected to because it was pretty much obsolete at the time.

I believe the person is referring to the free software updates that all OS put out, in my eyes if a device doesn’t support an older OS it’s because the majority has done the free upgrade that the OS might send out every 3-6-12 months depending on what it’s correcting.

I wouldn’t keep windows 98 on my computer then get mad at a current , in production video game for not supporting the old OS I’m deciding to use.

The Carta is geared towards anyone that wants the simplicity of an erig but doesn’t want to spend $400 on an item that’s fighting a class action law suit, has $40 atomizers and is having major issues over a year out

Again the app is literally still a beta until it’s on the actual android play store and the iOS App Store, I would just wait, it will be worth it being able to count the dabs, change the temps, change the dab timer etc but on all levels without the box I’m enjoying it and happy with the $200 I spent on it.

I just want some better glass

The Carta has $30 atomizers and IMO has not proven to be any more reliable. It's mixed results just like the Peak.

I think it's more likely that someone who isn't seeking out the latest phone every year also won't be seeking the latest bluetooth app enabled portable electronic dab rig. That said, even those who don't update their devices yearly still update their OS, to the point where iOS 10 is basically obsolete today.

$10 less and $150 less, IMO is has, my peak NEVER worked and had to force puffco to refund me. I’ve had no issue with the Carta except what was my fault. But it’s been out literally a month

Th lawsuit, the rude owner, I pass on PC

Bluetooth has been around for decades though so having bluetooth doesn't seem like an exclusive feature. You can't put the new operating systems on these devices, I'm not talking about missing an officially released update.

Frankly if my shit isn't supported it's not that big of a deal, I'd just like to KNOW so I can move on.

Meh, I know multiple Peak owners on their original atomizer, my Carta didn't last one day and the replacement atomizer didn't work at all. I haven't used my replacement unit yet as I'm waiting to see if I can change the temperature.

I’m just sitting here waiting for the app to pop up in the App Store. Beta keeps crashing on me. I’ve re downloaded it like 4 times now. It won’t open even after a reset

Did you remember to reauthorize /trust publisher on your last reinstall?

I'd hold off trying to install the beta app and wait for the App Store version. My Carta right now is stuck in Sesh mode and won't go above 500 degrees F. I've tried 3 atomizers so far and all aren't treated as Dab atomizers.

Waiting to see if the release app will fix it.

What communication did you receive and how long did it take? I’m a week and a half out and no response from focusv on my claim

I'm still destroying my carta daily, doing back to back to back hits on lvl 1 and then 2 with the quartz. Never leaking over the sides.Still on my original atomizer with the teeth holders on the bottom of the cup.

I do clean out the dish and atomizer a bit once a day and take the atomizer out and clean the pin and socket area every few days. But I daily drive this thing, at least 20 times a day doing 3 b2b sessions each time. I also Q-tip after every 3 x b2b session, twisting the Q-tip as I turn it around the bottom as to not let it turn as I clean it.

They would reply in a day or 2..And takes about a week to send me a new atty in the mail..Like I said the company has been real good at warranty issues..Did you fill out the warranty on their website? Good luck..

rskangler,
Anyone seen the final android app at play store?
Costomer service told me that it should be released this week.

What a ripper, wow it really shows up my old enail this Carta... Very impressive!

One quick question.. When pressing button 5 times to turn on, it seems you have to press button once again to start heating, got that - but it only seems to give you like 3s to press as after that it does not heat up, I have to press button 5 time again to turn on. Is this normal operation?

Is the only way to have power on longer than 60s the app?

Thanks

Sounds like it's going into suspend mode way too quickly. But it does do this, just not in 3s normally.
