Temp controlled battery for CCell carts

At it’s 3 Voltages (3.4v, 3.7v, 4.0v) the iMini is a hot bat for toasty carts. —Not to mention
Quality dysfunctions. DHGate has them for under $9....

Albeit small, the Mist @ 2.4V is sha-weet.

—It may, however not be (because of its very size)
something a strapping hunk would feel comfortable sporting among peers. ;)

@stark1 - the cart on the box mod is almost empty, and it's wearing a pocket lint condom, when it will never see the inside of a pocket. (most of my dating condoms never saw anything other than the inside of a pocket)

do you enjoy the Ccell Dart, even at 3.8v, now that we've become low voltage snobs?

Choochoo, Charlie being an LV artiste takes a bit of taste mongering?

The Dart is ergonomic, and doesn’t look like the traditional “pen”,
So no interest from those around. Haha

They seem to have just come out. My LPS (MA) had them, and the Silo, but they sold out.
$20 for the batteries, $60 for 500mg distillate.

Received another V-Mod, unfortunately not pleased. Different style pin connection part inside unit, cart does not snap in and hold as well, wiggles more, magnetic pull too weak. It works, but it's janky. @HighMtnSkier - maybe you got one like my new one?

So, of course I had to order another one from same ebay vendor I got the good one from. When it gets here I'll post an update

I should clarify, that it really doesn't rattle at all. When the magnet is screwed into the cart, and inserted into the battery, I can't make it rattle, no matter how hard I shake it. The magnet is strong. I can't pull the cart out only using my lips.

I can wiggle my .5g Kingpen carts. My larger 1g Kingpens not as much. A little piece of electrical tape makes it just a little bit more secure for my active/klutzy lifestyle.

Good news, and bad news

Received another V-Mod from same ebay seller as my first good one

This one holds the cart in. Good. But it makes a faint buzz during fire. Works fine, but WTF?

So, looks like V-Mod clone factories are churning out substandard units. Pure luck if you get a good one from an ebay seller. Buy two, they're cheap

Bottom unit has the bad connector that won't hold the cart. Looks totally different than the good ones above:

vmod-comparisons.jpg

Half gram on left, one gram cart on right. One gram fits very well in the V-Mod, lower profile than others like Palm. Because they are cheap, it's convenient to own more than one for different strains

Also received the Mist and experienced its incredible lightness of being. A bit too small and light for me. Great low voltages though, and no annoying magnetic connectors

Damn counterfeits! Just saw this on vapmodtech site

An entire page about them. Here's the connector difference I noticed with my bogus V-Mod:

vmod-polarity.jpg

@stark1 , you were correct to worry about battery. According to vapmod site, original uses lithium cobalt oxide, 900mAh, counterfeits do not use, and only 400mAh

About the hummm light buzz when firing -- I put my good, blue original V-Mod to ear, and I could hear it faintly when firing. I'm old though, and hearing is not so great

This came in today. I like it cause it's like a real box ecig but cartridge size. A button to adjust up, another button to adjust down. And another for power up and fire. And a screen to tell you where you are set. And a battery indicator so your dead battery isn't a surprise and you can get it charged in time. It's metal and feels solid in the hand. I feel like the only think this is missing is a cap like the airis tick to protect the cartridge from dust and lint.

This red thing is the lvsmoke ymer. I love that it can be adjusted by the .1 volt as opposed to three settings. Something like this should have a broader setting range. But it doesn't. 3.3-4.2 volts range. So that's ten different settings. This thing just plain feels real good. My cheap camera phone doesn't show the screen properly. Advertising is somewhat misleading. This only has vv mode. Not vw.

Also pictured with imini and airis tick for size comparison. I'm stuck between this and the tick as my fav. I love the lid on the tick. But I love the screen and the battery indicator and the solid metal feel of the ymer.

Oh and the different carts in the pic are a dank vape, a .5 ccell, a 1.0 ccell, and a west coast (same cart as mario cart). It only uses one magnetic adapter for all sizes cart. I was suspicious but it works.

OOhhh and the magnetic adapter. It's MUCH fatter that most adapters. It's almost the same width as the opening so it fits snug and doesn't wiggle nearly as much as the tick. On the ymer the cartridge sits in it like a cup and has "ONE FOR ALL" etched on the adapter.

The yner broke on me. Monday or Tuesday actually so it lasted half a week. I thought maybe it could be dirty. I soaked the adapter in everclear and used a qtip with alcohol to clear the inside where the adapter sits. Still not working. It just displays F2. Which is what it would always display while working properly of you tries to fire it without a cartridge. So a short or whatever.

I picked up The Kind Pen Pure for $25off eBay.
https://www.thekindpen.com/product/pure-gray

Airflow isn’t a good as the V-mod as the slits in the magnet aren’t as deep. Came with two magnets, that have a slightly larger diameter. The Vmod magnet works in the Pure, but not the other way around. The thing is stupid slow to charge. The Vmod charges at 0.85mah while this thing limps along at 0.18mah. Pass-thru charging works on the Pure also.

I like the auto draw a lot. The button on the Vmod is kinda loud.

@HighMtnSkier - Thank you for the KindPen Pure post !

My V-Mods refuse to charge now, and mine may have all been counterfeit with cheap lousy internal battery. Don't trust ebay now with these batteries. I chose to buy direct from KindPen site, applied SAVE40 discount code, so with shipping it was $35. But, this genuine one might die in a month anyway

Pure-buttons.jpg

Dial instead of button to select voltage.

The P setting is for 2v preheat. Very nice. Dream come true for a low voltage inhale activated device, with preheat, and no buttons! Praise be

But, because I'm a dick, I have to highlight some problems

Even though Palm and Pure are about the same dimensions in profile, the cart sits higher in the Pure. They put the LED indicator light inside the cart insertion hole. With one gram carts, the light refracts through the cart like a lava lamp. Might be fun at a rave

That battery looks pretty nice! I quite like the dial too, reminds me of the old spinners. Needing a new battery... been fiddling with the Raw Garden Ccells and they're pretty tasty for the money. Not quite as complex tasting, or hard hitting as a proper sauce pen, but for distillate it's pretty solid.

Lol @ the Sharif in the background!

When taking this pic, twenty somethings walked past, guy said,

"dude, that's the dopest vape pen I've ever seen"

I think that's a good thing

But, here's a bad thing:

The Pure preheat feature sucks. Big time

Sequence:

1) Clog on inhale
2) Turn dial to "P"
3) Nothing

Design flaw

It goes into sleep mode. To awaken you must "inhale activate." Turning the dial to P does squat.

Duh...how can you start Preheat, if you can't wake it up?!

WTF? But, I still like low voltage with auto inhale. I'll get over occasional clogs

@ChooChooCharlie I have been able to activate the pre-heat function by putting my index finger over the “window” and taking a quick forceful draw with no cart installed. This wakes it up out of standby. Not great, but gets the job done. Also, since I still put some electric tape on my carts, it cuts down on the glowing a lot.

A quick update on my Vapmod V-Mod...

This thing still rocks. A fully charged battery will last me all day and even if I forget to charge it overnight.

Yes, even after my bitching/moaning posts above, it's still Pure low voltage buttonless heaven

Impulse buy, Bloom version of CCell Dart. Chose Jack Herer from ten choices, $40. Dart battery itself was $30. Many companies in the pod game now. Wish they would lower down from the default 3.8v, but found if I keep draws under 4 seconds, it wasn't too harsh

Took it for a test walk today, like @stark1 said, it's an ergonomic gem. Nice rounded edges and slim

Note the Men in Black captured UFO, hidden in plain sight

Dart-side-and-top.jpg

Nice they printed JH for Jack Herer on pod. Think you can only get this Bloom version in white, like the Dosist brand, going for that clean medical look?

At least it matches my boat

Dart-apart.jpg

(sorry readers for dumping these cart and pod batteries together in this thread)

edit: Impressed with magnetic connection of pod, so much better than alternative friction held designs like Pax Era. But Pax Era has the great app to lower temp ... can we get a marriage of the two?

@90% + THC!

With flowers @ +/- 20% THC at most, carts/distillates are a no Brainer.

Plus, the convenience. Ahhhh, the convenience.

—Just need a large boat, @Long Beach, lol

PS mine is “Train Wreck”, Choo Choo. :ko:
