Ok so the Weedeater still isn’t producing like the VROD. I was getting great production at 635 with a Vrod and I am up to 715 with the Weedeater. I figured since it is a lot more airy draw I needed higher temps to get the same effective temps hitting the bowl. I just don’t think this is holding the Heat in the head as well as the vrod. The design is beautiful.

Anyone else with similar experience? What temps are being used on the Weedeater head?

I've had the Showerhead for 16 months and I am typically running at 747 F uncapped. (Until recently I started playing with the carb cap and lower temps.) That said, I just bought a WeedEater on 420 and gave it a run for one week (It's Jamaica Bound). While I started at 650, I quickly found myself back at 747 F. I am not taking super long draws, just filling my glass piece and it's every bit the ShowerHead has been.

Exactly where i am floating at, pulling till i run out of air :D
Note I am only drawing until the can is full of vapor, if I drew until my breath ran out 1) I would likely combust. 2) My asthmatic lungs could not handle that much vapor. That being said I bet you both could go higher uncapped. A friend did a very long pull on my FlowerPot at 747 and there was a tiny pit of combustion, so I am guessing with a longer pull the temperature would have to be 730 or below.

Ordered 2 party GB and 2 short GB from dh. Was going to grab one from NV but hey didn't have the party version and figured I'd just order all from the same place.

Looking forward to using the short for CBD isolate and the party for herb. Im hoping to be able to see the herb getting the life sucked out of it.

I should have stated that my glass piece is the NV 12.5" Stereo Matrix with 18mm joint. I would guess anyone using a 14mm joint would not be able to reach these temperatures.

Had a customer inquire yesterday about his highfive 20mm coil and showerhead compatibility. Please remember that highfive's 20mm coils are 4 wrap and missing one complete wrap. Unlike the weedeater, and vrod, heads the showerhead will tighten down on a 4 wrap coil. However the heat up times will be longer. IMO after the showerhead normalizes there's no difference in performance between the 4 & 5 wrap coils. Please take this into consideration as we compare techniques here.

Having a total love affair with the Weedeater, wowzers. Currently running it about 625, might go lower. I find a light/fluffy mostly-full bowl is good for about 6 medium draws before I start combusting. Stirring between every other hit. That sound about how others are using this magical little device?

585 for me.

YES. I was edging into combustification at 630, 585 seems to work just as well with no combusting and far less coughing.

Two thoughts about the titanium: 1) Accidentally brushed the hot Weedeater nut with a polyester sleeve, now it has slightly burned striations on one part that I can't wash off. What do you recommend for polishing? And 2) I love the idea of a special edition of the Weedeater with beautiful engraving on the nut/diffuser and Puck-style simple base. Or just taking mine to an engraver for an art project.

This thing is ridiculous. About my favorite way to get high in some 30+ years of consuming cannabis.

It also occurred to me that the Weedeater nut/diffuser could be used with a torch as well, provided you had a handheld IR thermometer and knew in advance what temperature the top surface shows when the coil is powered on. So if the power goes out.....you're still good to go!

@nodrog we have a battery system for when the power goes out. Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you like the flowerpot system. We use a bench grinder with a scotch brite pad for deburing and blending finishes. You can't go wrong with a piece of that. The titanium will change color from the heat over time, first gold, then deep purple. Some folks speed this process up by lightly torching.

This is the way I clean my double weave screen and shovelhead bowl every week.

HI Edwyn - I too have been using the very same double weave screen in my FP SH now for about 15 months without any degradation of the screen. Well worth the money for these screens, IMO.

I do have a small ultrasonic cleaner. I fill the reservoir of the cleaner about half way with water. I put the FP SH parts...including the screen....in a zip lock with ISO (and any other parts I'm cleaning that day)...and pop the bag into the water. Run for 5 or 10 minutes (my little cheapo has some pre-set times you need to choose from) and they come out sparkling.

Seriously...I really see no significant wear or tear on my Ti double weave screens. I think you are spot on...the double weave is an important component of the NV FP ecosystem.:clap:

What's the best position for the coil in the coil nut. I've seen pictures that most has the coil handle up. Others show it inserted the other way? This is a Showerhead unit btw

it's just personal preference. I typically have the handle exiting near the top. To my knowledge it preforms the same mounted either way.

...in terms of cleaning, I have a 10 liter ultrasonic cleaner that I just throw everything into...except sic dish on vrod head...that I just dab with qtip, and 90 iso. Works for me, this thing is easy to clean...

just_the_flu

they say im crazy but i have a good time
...i've never had to clean my showerhead, and can't see the need to... nothing to get dirty (don't dab off it so everything is below)... however i clean screens every 1-2 days depending on showerhead usage... i have 3 double weave ti screens well over a year and a half old and they look brand new after a wash... if my bowls warm when removing screen i will take paper towel and give er a wipe...

...this thing is pretty low maintenance imo :tup:

Hello boys and girls
Quick question, received my Vrod today. I already had a controller so I just ordered the 20mm compatible coil. Plug in the coil and it doesn’t respond. The controller knows there’s something connected to it, since it doesn’t read EEEE, but it does not heat up at all just reads ambient temps. The other 2 coils I have heat up with no issue, and the pins are exactly the same
I emailed and called Newvape but no answer yet and just want to enjoy it ASAP
Thanks
