I’ve been using my new Splinter for a week now and absolutely love it. There was a bit of a learning curve at first but once I dialed it in with my Reuleaux gen 3 mod, it really showed me how great it really is. I have only used Watt mode so far, 2 second warmup at 40 w and then hit it at 28w. I extended my firing time to 15 seconds and man this vape hits like a son of bitch. :ko:
I have a feeling she’s going to be my daily driver:love:

My first use last night and first impressions are WOW! I still need to learn how to use the Wismec reuleaux gen 3. I set the temp to 380 but used it in wattage mode at 36w so I'm not sure if they are both relevant . It did not come with any useful instructions ... regardless, I preheated for a few seconds than took three draws all less than 10 sec ( I don't yet know how to increase the auto shut off of 10 sec ) which produced nice full vapor. I think I'm going to love this vape.

I installed myevic firmware on the Wismec. The firmware has the option to allow the user to increase the firing time to over 10 seconds which made a huge difference for me. It also has the autofire (cruise) option, but I haven't used it yet.

Holding down up and pressing the fire button were the secret menu where you can make it 15 seconds in stock firmware

Has anyone with the combo Lost Vape Paranormal + Splinter V2 achieved proper even vaporization? I can't, already tried 15-20 times, but each time the bowl either is not extracted well (low temp/wattage) or gets scorched in the center and not extracted at all (almost green color) on the outer rim. The scorching of the center usually appears after 3rd hit.
I tried the FCSHARE dna250c splinter profile, but had to bump the temp to 390-410, on lower temp I don't get much vapor.
Best results were in Watts mode: 35W, resistance 0.25 unlocked, Boost On, Punch: 8. But still had to stir and repack after every 2 hits and still the ABV wasn't even because of the hotspotting in the center. And of course the flavor is gone after first 2 hits and there's this burned taste... ugh.
The center spot looks similar to the one on the photo in this post by Mynameismud:
Thanks gonna email them now. I just cant seem to figure out how to avoid getting a hot spot which is clearly affecting the taste. Preheat, no preheat... using it 22.5-23watts and also 30-35 watts... Slow light inhaling and also faster inhaling all give a hot spot after about 2-3 hits and flavor starts crashing.

EDIT: forgot to add, I do slow draws, 7-10 seconds. Tried with and without preheat, doesn't matter much. Tried faster draws, also same results.

Mines a older splinter you might have better luck with either the warm or hot material file with the V2 if it's running too cold. Run the cold OMS unlocked.

In escribe open material tab and import these materials. Then under general tab switch coil material in the splinter profile. Let know if it helps :)

Warm.csv
Hot.csv

If you open device monitor in escribe the graph readout should look similar to this one. This a 18 second draw at 400 degrees with the splinter. You can see the temperature remains level and the wattage is being adjusted as I draw heat off load.

Try letting go of the button earlier, also you want a slow steady draw, and can lower the wattage just a little... If you don't have experience with these type of vapes, getting a even extraction without stirring can have more of a learning curve. Gotta hone technique, good luck

My splinter, xl8r, and Wismec all just got delivered at work. I can't wait to get home and try it !! thank god I ordered some new 18560's, all my current nitecore are button top and don't fit the Wismec.

Nice! I also just recently ordered a Splinter Z and XL8R and as you know: fucking awesome! How do you like that Wismec? Right now I'm using my old Aspire Zelos since it's the only mod I got, but prolly want to get a new one eventually. I do love the XL8R, the vapor is nice and smooth!

That is awesome. I also had some trouble with my Splinter when I first got it. I thought it was going to be like other battery powered vapes where you just pull and get good vapor, so I was disappointed at first. But after watching youtube and getting my technique down, I am very glad I purchased this vape! My only complaint is that this is a two-hand vape so I can't just hold and puff while driving. I combusted a couple times too, gotta be careful on 50W

EDIT: also, isn't that Wismec Releaux a bit overkill for the Splinter? 300W, geeze

I like my wismec gen3 tho I know nothing about box mods... It's a nice size and will let me upgrade if the need arrises. The splinter worked so well the first two times at 36 watts I don't feel the need to experiment

Also you have the Gen3 Dual which is not 300W lol must be a 4batt one. Reuleaux is a large line and the names all overlap

Well then fuck it, I am getting me a Wismec then :) I really need a new mod, especially since I had a leaky tank that oiled up my threads in the mod.

Oh my mistake I got confused lol need to take a break from here, I've got a lot of tips last in the several pages though. Time to slow down and enjoy my own SplinterV2 with P80 now

Yep, same here. It's very likely because Herbie doesn't have a V2.

I've had my V2 on the rxg3d since 420 because TC was so epic right out of the box. I get the hardly any vapor and center hotspot behavior on my Paranormal though - just tried it after reading your post. I forgot to try the warm or hot material files but I did bump the resistance up to .27 unlocked with no joy.

Big picture I'd be down to gofundme Herbie a V2 as a kickback. And so he can lace us with a custom V2 ecigprofile, obvi.

The V2 on the rxg3d is fantastic though.
Best price I can find right now is here:

Old & In the Way
I've been more of a minimalist with my first mod (a P80) and first RBT vape, now a Splinter V1+ that replaces the V1 that came apart.
As fancy as I got was to upgrade to myevic firmware and then some 3000 mah batts over lesser capacity original purchase. Been using Power (Watt) mode 99% of the time, and as an individual user this has worked fine. I've really developed a feel for it and leave it on 40 Watts (I know, pretty high) so I'm able to regulate it myself by either clicking off or stopping draw, and it's a quicker way to spend a whole bowl This however is a real issue when I share with wife (or anyone, really). Always get hot spots and beginnings of char.
So, new V1+, new attempt to keep everybody happy;

I re-learned where Auto-Fire is (some call Cruise). It is still part of Power mode, just a setting to enable it in the Vape menu. Then a really clumsy pattern of clicks to fire it. Seems like one 2 sec click followed by two 1 sec clicks; I've yet to find the instruction on that, which would help a lot. One previous experience very early on with auto-fire was such a turn-off because we argued about whether it was even working or not.

This time I practiced a few bowls, finding a real sweet spot. Time limit set to infinity (you do have to be careful and remember to click it off) and Watts all the way down at 12. It takes a minute to preheat and 1-2 draws to begin production, but then it's really nice tasting, satisfying vaping for, like, what seems like about a dozen hits. Sometimes I'll set the initial temp at 16, click autofire and draw once or twice to kick it off, but then soon reset to 12 and continue.

I understand that there are even more refined modes available when using a DNA mod, but so far I'm very happy with results in my status quo. The only setting (after fire time) I ever deal with is Watts and I don't have to know anything about all these other variables (yet!).

The Splinter V1 was my first vaporizer, running it on a Smoant Naboo mod in wattage mode @ 45W and 0.22 ohms. Although I was happy with the performance while using just the Splinter and an XL8R short stem, I recently picked up a bubbler and WPA during 4/20 and this has made it my preferred way to vape. Provides big hits that are very cool and smooth. I have to stir to get even extraction, but I find it easy to just pop off the Splinter while leaving the WPA on, giving it a little stir and popping the Splinter back on.

I really like that it's on-demand, so I can just take a couple of hits and leave the rest for later. My other vaporizer is a conduction session vape and unless I'm chilling with my friends and passing it around, I don't really like having to sit there by myself for 10 minutes and getting too impaired. The Splinter is pretty much the perfect solo vaporizer for me.
