Carta by Focus V

Does anyone know whether FocusV will release a new quartz bucket to work with the new atomizer?
Asked about this on the livestream and they didn't say anything about new quartz, but recommended bumping the temp to level 3 to get the old quartz working on the new atty. I don't necessarily know that this is a great idea, given the sensitivity to burnout that some of the atomizers seem to have.

I tried the EQ dr dabber Switch short quartz bucket which works great and fits almost perfectly but it also pushes the atomizer a bit harder. Mine burnt out after a week of daily use. Frustrating because it works much better than the stock and then there is the whole waiting on EQ but their shipping is better than it was.

Like everyone else love the Carta when it works but inconsistent temps are frustrating and I keep second guessing everything it’s hard to tell operator failure from hardware failure. Right when I think I have everything threaded correctly the temp seems to fluctuate for another reason or the atomizer burns out. I’m not sure how much more staring and rechecking I can do. Going cross-eyed. Does anyone out there have a totally stable Carta with consistent temp results and atomizer that lasts more than a week?

I was told the same thing. The v2 Ti bucket vaporizes great at level 1 but I can't get much of anything with quartz until I get to level 3. I only used the Ti verify my atomizer and base unit were working properly, I won't be dabbing off titanium.

I can't get the app to work so I can't set a manual temp somewhere in between 2 and 3.

I've verified the base and atomizer heater are working but now it's back to gathering dust until I can dab off quartz at a lower temp via the app.

It just doesn't seem right that with 2 atomizers that should be mechanically identical, you need a ~100 degree temp difference to get comparable performance with the same bucket. If they're not going to drop a new quartz bucket that works better with the v2 atty at lower temps, I'd want to know if I could still buy some of the v1 atomizers. Randall mentioned they did away with the walls in the v1 because it was causing oil to pool, but I didn't catch the full explanation - does anyone know specifically what he meant?

I didn’t get it either the V1 with the walls is seemed more consistent and also it assured me the bucket was really on correctly.

Same here. Nothing from quartz with v2 until level 3 or 4.
As far as the reasons for the v2.
The tabs catching and holding bucket overflow. Something about the heater as well.

Weird, I never once had an issue with that. The only time I ever had any material end up anywhere near my heating plate was when I stupidly hot loaded way too big of a dab. Cold loading the same amount never resulted in any spillage.

I do. I have been meticulously tracking dab temps across 7 different concentrates and 3 atomizers.

For perspective, I average 8 dabs a day.

I have put appx 130 quartz-only dabs one one of my atomizers, and am achieving consistent, perfect results on it.

That said, I have another that has only 70 quartz-only dabs, but starting to need higher temps, longer duration to achieve desired results.

The third has only been used 10 times, and I have only used the Ti bucket with it.

I have used the iOS app exclusively since the second day I had it.

So i got a replacement atty that worked for about a day or two normally. I now turn it on and it seems like it doesnt really matter what temp i set it just goes full blast. Makes my distilate poping like crazy in the bowl. The taste is now terrible because its burning and now my last hit the atomizer stayed on until i manually shut it off im going to submit it for warranty just curious if anyone else has this issue.

What temperature do you have it set at on the app?

After some initial success with quartz at level 3, I tried it again last night at level 3.

Almost zero vapor, bad taste, and it seemed like most of my sauce just vanished.

Assumed I did something wrong, took it apart, wiped the down the quartz with an alcohol wipe, dried it out with a qtip, loaded it up and tried again. exact same thing.

The Carta's inability to work consistently is driving me nuts.

I'm done wasting product in this thing.

I had to let this one go! I think it’s going to be a hit in the future, but right now I had to SWITCH! I have been better than I ever have been ever since.

Is that your original base or replacement?

I got a shipment tracking email on 4/30... its 5/2 and tracking says “still waiting on item to arrive”. Ugh.. my peak last a month b4 burning out... carta 24hrs.

Peak-1 Carta-0

Are you saying that your Carta stopped working after 24 hours? Or are you just venting that the tracking info hasn't been updated. If its the latter, posting about it here seems a little much and to be fair, that's not FocusV's fault. USPS can be unreliable...sucks when it happens but its not fair to blame the manufacturer either.

Technically it stopped working after 4 hrs.. but I’m slightly venting (annoyed ppl have issues with replacements) I will say focusv has a wayyyy faster response time. I’d rather slightly vent on here before posting reviews, to be fair to the company.. since they do have a quick response time compared to other companies. I ship daily with usps so I’m aware they take their sweet time to update the site..but I called and asked.. still waiting for package. Thank you for your concern tho!

My 4th v1 atomizer has been going strong for about a week now, running minimum 10 cycles a day. My last v1 before this worked perfectly for like 12 days before it suddenly stopped. I haven't been using the v2 atty I got from FocusV at all because of the incompatibility with quartz.

Still on the original base tho right? Thanks

Unless this is your first shipment from FocusV, then you have to expect there might be a couple days between order fulfillment and shipment. That's one thing it's hard to hold against them right now, even if it affects me as a customer who can't use their product until I get a vital part replaced. Look, I only ever placed 1 order with this company a few months ago, and from that 1 order I've now received like 6-7 different packages from them in the intervening months. Never once was I charged for shipping, or asked to send anything back to them (except by Helix). Multiply that by all their beta customers, and then zoom out and look at all their other regular and wholesale customers, and then zoom out a little more and realize this company is still apparently only 2 people, responsible for a lot more than just logistics.

Maybe it's just me, but I cut them a little slack on that. All that said, they should probably hire some help

My tracking from the same day also says USPS hasn't received the item yet.

Thank God this isn't my only device.
Ditto! Did u ship back your carta? My guess they won’t mail it til we mails ours back? (Mailing mine in 15 mins). Keep me posted if yours ships!

My original carta worked great quartz on the iOS app around 630F+

10 sessions later, dead base, cracked heating element. Focusv told me to ship back only the base.

I also cut them slack by still posting photos of my carta on IG and didn’t post any reviews yet until this unit works for a bit. I def have much respect for them and trying to help promote them anyway possible. But on here.. it’s another story.. I come here to exchange information with other product consumers. So I can gauge how faulty my unit can potentially be in the future. Me saying what I said I now know that another customer is stuck at the pre-shipment.
