What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

The DNA mods seem to do temp control better and more reliably, but some folks have been able to get good results with non-DNA mods. I have a non-DNA mod (RX 2/3) that I do wattage mode with, but could never get good temp control. Not sure how much of that is the mod and how much is the effort I put in to it. My DNA mod (VT75C) does temp control very well with little effort...

Just to chime in - I use the same mod, rx2/3, and have very good results with TC (running tubomyevic FW).

The vapor is strong with this one.
Wow, those look great together.
I see that they guarantee delivery within 50 days. Is that the typical wait time to order from Aliexpress?
I got my HCigar VT75D from one of the vendors on AE and it took about 30 days. Someone else got theirs a lot quicker. There are many stores on that site who may have very different delivery times...

@oddjobold, of course,I know the SP. :p I find the look of your setup very appealing. I can see why it's your "trusty vape saber." :D

Do you like the concept of the Stempod si? Are you going to eventually get one? Even just for the novelty?

I have the both the Splinter & Z, & I wouldn't give up the Z up for anything. I think the si is visually appealing & fun (love the fruity colors!), but foremost, I don't want to spend anytime installing coils. Not my gig. Hey, I'm still only using stock wattage on my Splinter mods. :p But I think the SP is a wonderful vape & would highly recommend it.

I just wish it didn't get so goddamn hot

With so many great options in the 510 space, is it worth putting up with it getting so hot? Today is the last day of their sale. I'm intrigued with the customization and I love my splinter. But the issue of it getting hot is something that I hear often.

Like with most vapes it depends on your budget and use case. If you're just VASing, and you love playing around with coils, then it's worth it. If you need a 510 atty and you plan on using it mostly in on demand mode, then it's worth it. You're in the same position that I was before I pre-ordered - love my splinter and enjoy tinkering. I'm considering selling the Si. It's a beast in on demand, but it's not so much better than the splinter that I need to have 2 510 attys. In on demand mode it doesn't get hot enough that the mod shuts down (even less of a chance of that happening now that i have a heat sink), but in cruise it happens before you finish a bowl. The only things stopping me from selling are 1) the hassle of selling and 2) the indestructability of the atty has a certain appeal. I have zero concerns about taking it out or beating it up.

This does help and yeah, it is just VAS (isn't it always?). I passed on the stempod for now. I just feel like my splinter does just fine and the heat issue isn't something I want to work around. Thanks for your input.

Well @Summer I finally got my P80, it actually was attempted to be delivered 10 days ago, but I guess it needed a signature and no one who was home heard the door... Schedule the redelivery for this past Monday, but they never did so I went and picked it up myself today finally. just a little disclaimer for anyone who orders from Hong Kong about the signature needed for delivery of registered mail, otherwise seamless since I was expecting the two week processing. Looking forward to trying it with my Splinter V2 soon!

I like stempod/P80 or Imp both make for a small size combo for someone looking for a inexpensive travel setup. Currently using 2 P80 for travel combo's one with stempod other with IMP.

Recently uploaded a Hcigar VT75c file on FCSHARE. You still need enter thermal setting. If use it please run case thermals. It can also be used with the VT75D. Just change the mods internal resistance to 0.009 and run case thermals.

I spent the last couple months with the Lil Bud Elite and I really enjoy this all in one package. Not a mod but it offers a similar experience as a 510 device and a mod would. I'm going mention it as a possibility option and suggest it's worth a look.
It is a different setup than the normal 510/Mod and feel it's design could be more appealing for some. It runs the DNA75c chip and instead of 510 connection the coil is directly wired to chip. It's single battery wood device that average 60-70 puffs per charge.

If you come across an appropriate place to share it, I'd be curious to know how you'd compare the Imp to the StemPod. Kinda OT for this thread.

My VT75D running your dnac ecigprofile has a custom Z on it and I've never run or known about case thermals. I'm keen to try your hcigar file since all my dna Splinter joy is thanks to you.

Aaaand I am loving the Splinter on the P80! Way better than the heavy RX250, and honestly watts just may be better than TC with this heater I don't know... It was cool, but maybe not as effective? This is such a compact set up now, ergonomic and looks great. Just using the stock firmware for now too, just simpler and works fine, the trigger is easier to press so may not need autofire like on G3D with Z. All together the value is pretty strong for this pair and what I paid for them, very satisfied with it so far.

So while I'm waiting on my Triade to ship, I ordered a RX GEN3 from Vgoodiez. It came preloaded with SUREVIC. I'm currently using it in wattage mode at 35-38w with cruise control. I'm letting the heater warm up 3-5 seconds and then taking a draw. Total time 13-15 seconds. If I can get this mod to work pretty good with the Z then I might just cancel my order for the Triade. Can you RX GEN3 owners let me know whatsettings I need to check out? TIA

I still have not tried to set up TC on mine, so I can't help with that, but I can mention that it's a good idea to make sure the up and down buttons can be used to wake the device, leaving the fire button for when you want to power up (or lock it of course). I also follow that same system, often at 45 watts, through water. Dry I do start lower, not usually below 30w though

Alright guys, Fastech delayed shipping my Triade again. Can you guys recommend some DNA mods for a Splinter Z? I’m gonna to order one from a US retailer.

Dang it. That means mine is delayed too.

Several of us like this one, but this vendor is also overseas...

It's not easy to find in stock because it was discontinued some time ago.

Have you ordered from Gear Best before? Pretty safe? TIA.

Anyone tried the Think Vape DNA250C?
Unless you want there cells for the battery life I'd go with the hcigar VT75D from Summer's link. It's the same size and shape as a rxg3d and the chintzy built is an acceptable tradeoff for the low price and light weight.
