Try placing the cap on without the cap post screwed in. You should be able to see the quarts through cap hole. If the quartz is below the cap hole you are fine. The cap should not slide back and forth. once the cap is on screw the post in. You should never leave the cap on more than thirty seconds, Remove after each draw.

Yours does protrude out a bit farther then mine. Is your cap physically touching the quartz, blocking the hole, or just pretty close?
I have a Santa Cruz Shredder carb cap that is fairly deep and doesn't touch my quartz and Id wager to say it wouldn't touch yours at that height either. If the vapor can pass through, you should be good. If you can use it like a spinner on the quartz, then......

The quartz is not below the cap hole. When I take the cap post out, the cap sits a little bit lower, with the hole directly touching the quartz middle post on all sides of the cap hole.

Yes, physically resting on the pinnacle of the quartz, blocking the hole from the carb post. If I unscrew the entire titanium mid-section 360° the carb cap will finally sit flat, but I have to wonder how much extra air I’m allowing into the system anyway at that point, potentially defeating the purpose of the carb cap (lowering pressure for lower temp dabs).

Update:

Wondered if it might be a slight tolerance issue, and I remembered the ceramic post had a little play, so I very gently pushed down on the post, which SEEMS to have fixed the issue.

HOWEVER,

Then I turned the unit back on to make sure I hadn’t damaged it’s function, and the knob fell off. No big deal, easily put back on, but... :\

(It DID turn back on at least)

The whole upper assembly just pulls right out so it can be boiled or iso soaked for cleaning...If it is not close enough to the heated ceramic rod, just push it down a little.Peace.
The whole upper assembly like the ceramic post???

Just some friendly advise, Be careful not to exhale into the mouthpiece, Your material will go under the quartz dish and combust.
Oof. Thanks. That would be awful.

The titanium screws onto the other titanium, is that what you mean? Or does that piece come out also?
The quartz dish cover only. First the threaded 14mm nozzle twists off . Second, Remove the threaded quartz dish cover counter clockwise . Third, Remove the quartz dish over the ceramic rod. Wipe around the ceramic nail with a cloth or q tip. Only three parts will be removed and cleaned.

So I was able to try the ditanium out finally, but just with flower so far. I started at 11:30, and finished at 12ish. At 11.30 it was terps and whisps of vapor, but I actually got pretty medicated from several draws over 3-4 minutes. I came back later and turned it to 12 and got several more great tasting vapor hits. This is my first whip vape. It’s crazy to me how cool and smooth the vapor is. I haven’t tried it through water yet, but may tonight when I try concentrates.

The bowl size is WAY too big for me. I could medicate a small army if it was easier to pass around. I saw troy of 420vapezone used a @DDave mod which entailed small basket screens to limit the bowl size and bring it a little closer to the heat source. I will have to give these a try. As it was, my ABV was BARELY golden after two sessions with the smallest amount of herb I can see reasonably covering the wide diameter of the bottom. I just received the titanium hand piece which I think has a smaller chamber, so that may help. Also, the screen of the glass hand piece seems like it will clog FAST, and is very difficult to clean, and to remove, so the titanium hand piece will make all of this much easier. I may turn the ditanium up to 2 and take some empty screen draws into a water pipe to try to get the gummy stuff off at least. Certainly part of the issue is that there was still good stuff in the chamber when I called it quits.

Ah ok. I knew the whole part unscrewed, but from your post it sounded as if the entire mid-section could be pushed or pulled as well. The quartz top had always been directly on the ceramic post, but the ceramic post was sitting too high in relation to the titanium that the quartz is held in place by.

Once you remove the quartz dish cover, Make sure your quartz dish is level. The quartz dish should sit level on the colorful titanium, Usually purple and hints of blue. Same color as the titanium cover if new. There will be a tiny space between the ceramic rod and the quartz dish. The ceramic rod should not touch the quartz dish.

I've been a regular epic nano user and recently purchased a Ditanium to use the e nail function. I haven't gotten to use it yet with concentrates but boy does it blow the nano out of the water for flower! I was not expecting that it would perform so much better. I assumed that they would be about the same but man the Ditanium is so powerful and hits so much harder than the nano. I also did the DDave Mod with the 14mm rimless basket so I can use small doses like the nano.

Cheers!

How much of an upgrade is the titanium whip over the glass one?

I'm not sure if upgrade is the word I'd use. They both work great, but have different strengths imo.

The Ti has a smaller bowl and gets the load much closer to the heater. I turn my temps down a bit and use it when I want quicker, smaller loads. For me, it's perfect, the Ditanium stays on, I need a hit, I walk in, load a small bowl, finish it with a stir or two and move on. It's much more efficient for that style use than the glass.

The glass on the other hand has a larger bowl and keeps the load further from the heat. It's great for watching a movie with the whip. Just keep chugging along and stir once in a while. It's great for that.

I have two glass handsets and one Ti. There may be another Ti in my future to be used in a permanent setup for HT's. If not, having a spare anything is never bad!

I'm about to move for the first time in many years. My current place I can vape all day and nobody cares but that is about to change in this apartment complex. I have some cases for my portable vapes but I'd like to have my Ditanium out as a centerpiece. Obviously I can't have it out 24/7 so I am looking for something to just put over it. Anyone know of a good storage solution?

Hey there FC community,

I haven't actively been on here since getting my first vaporizer (Herbalaire H2.2) in '12-'13. It's technically been my only desktop (although I use my SBJ as such) and haven't used it in a long time. After months of research, I decided I wanted one that could vape herb and concentrates. I ultimately chose the Ditanium because I was able to get it for $220, which is 1/2-1/3 the price of a Flowerpot and $100-$150 less than a Cloud Evo. All the reviewers seemed to say mostly positive things about it. I'm excited to follow this thread like I did with my HA H2.2 to get the most out of the Ditanium experience

Happy Friday my Ditanium family :science:

I did get the Ti/Glass direct to a HT set up working, but the Ti gets hot fast and that's three connections that are capable of moving and it never caught it's stride. To the drawing table.....

My next idea was was a stand to hold the HT/whip and this is where it is as of now..... Once I've made a few adjustments, the glass should pull off/on without issue. There's a 90 glass fitting sitting below that is still a touch low. Don't judge the glass, I've been feverishly testing this!

There's more to adjust and maybe add, but it's fully functional and my next task is to test it with the Ti handset. With the glass I leave the handset connected for some time, then the cradle holds it back far enough that heat hasn't been an issue.

This setup has been wonderful at the house. After the it's been in use for a while and I'm done playing, I'll probably look into casting it in silicone.

Additional ideas are welcome!

Why is this thread so dead? I've had my Ditanium for a few weeks now and the only other vapes ive used since getting it is SBJ just for hikes and enano because I got it a week ago. No banger and torch either! This thing has seriously been a game changer for me and an end game vape to be sure. A month ago I was over here about to get a IH for my vapcaps as my go to setup, but after getting a Ditanium and enano, I'm seriously considering selling all my portables except for my SBJ.

The only downsides for me so far is how the glass handpiece seems to slide out easier than I would like. I feel like I need to be super careful at times, and that's hard to do when you're stoned haha.. Also, the screen in the handpiece seems to get gunked up/clogged quite easily, which can result in a weak hit or no hit. This is solved by stirring and scraping the screen with a poker. I think a fixed glass screen would solve this issue. It's gotten easier for me to see after some time, but that notch on the dial is so small I feel like I need to pick the unit up to see it. Some people have mentioned marking it with a marker or white out. Last thing I can think of is how the heating element moves when you move the handpiece. Could this cause stress and wear on it over time?

I find these all minor flaws that don't really take away from the experience. Overall a top tier desktop at a low tier price in my opinion .

@TheHerbPuffer

I know right? I really love this thing and it's my main device. I want more people to pick it up and chat so we can possibly get some cool mods down the road.

I feel the same way about the glass handpiece. Like I mentioned earlier I am waiting for someone to come up with a 3rd party design to save us. As it stands the TI handpiece is an improvement but still not as much as I would like.

My nitpicks with the Ditanium all come from be using it for hours and hours on end because I do really love it. I think a V2 down the line would be amazing though. Buttons and a digital readout for temp. Multiple modes and profiles and bluetooth to power it on and have it preheat to your settings.

A detachable and replaceable power cable is also on the wish list.

@dvak, @Ramahs & @TheHerbPuffer Thanks. I'm really looking forward to it. It's my first desktop and I'm actually going to spend some time today reorganizing my desk so that I can set it up and leave it up.

Tracking tells me it'll be here tomorrow afternoon so I'm going to go to the dispensary today and stock up on some concentrates so I can try stacked dabs, something I've always wanted to try.

I'll try to make sure to post something before tomorrow afternoon turns into tomorrow evening.

Cheers
