Multi-brand HEALTHY RIPS FURY

Ramahs

Fucking Combustion (mostly) Since February 2017
Besides the oven capacity, I am curious if there is a difference in vapor Clouds and Taste when the glass stem is in the Fury oven (HR stems) vs. above the oven (POTV Stems). It also might take a few seconds longer to heat soak on first hit?
Anyone who can compare, please let us know if you notice any differences. Thx!

I'm curious about people's opinions on this as well. I have a Fury2, but not a One. I doubt there is a difference, but if there is I'd be curious.

I ordered the POTV accessory attachment last night. For short money I’ll see if it fits on my Snap with balky molding. If not I can use it with my F2. Either way it’s a win-win for me and another glass option.

And speaking of which, a buddy told me about dhgate which sells inexpensive glass rigs. I’ll be scoping out that soon for my first rig purchase explicitly for vaping. I have a bong from 25 years ago that I cleaned out several years ago, replaced tubing, etc but I haven’t used it since the refurbishment. F@!k combustion :)

And @OF - I’ve NEVER had a mani or pedi (I seldom pamper myself), but I do like the steroidal toothpicks. Not for me but I can definitely see them useful for many. Cheers.

Truth be told, neither have I.....not that I have any problem if you or anyone else does........ I thought a bit of levity was in order you see?

You're right, they are quite handy. At a few cents each they find many uses (at least for me). For the most part I pitch them when done although you can reuse them a lot for things like cleaning out bowls. Easier to grip, too. I used to use cut down bamboo skewers for this (very tough) but Orange Wood Sticks are superior I think. Worth a try I think?

Thanks and regards to all.

All good - I know you were kidding :). I find humor in most things. You can use the discards for kindling too. I’ll put them on my accessories/auxiliary wish list, below Blu Tack (for Hoppers) and PBW for just about anything. :peace:

Thanks, I'd hoped so. Never can tell these days........

I like the firewood idea. You could wrap the ends with cotton should Paul Bunyan show up and want to get the water out of his ear after a dip in your pool?

FWIW you can get a bag (typically 100) from China (where they no doubt 'all come from') very cheap (although it does take a while).

Thanks.

Can you try and put the HR WPA in the POTV accessory attachment and let us know if it works?
Did anyone try this yet or did I miss the verdict? I would think the HR stems would fit diameter-wise albeit they need to be recessed into the chamber unlike the POTV glass stem which sits above it - and presumably above the oring/screen.

My accessory attachmemt should arrive in a few days, hopefully for the weekend for some obligatory experimentation. :peace:

I gave my Fury2 WPA to someone so I can't check what happens if I try to use it with the POTV Accessory Attachment and POTV WPA.

I did use the Fury2 WPA when I had it and it did seem to take a little longer to get a good heat soak going and the amount of herb that can be used with the F2 WPA is, IMO, notable. I don't think the little bit of extra heat soak time was significant but the amount of herb that can be used was a real differentiator. I know Jill NYC said "Besides oven capacity" but it really was worth the mention. As far as taste...the taste dissipated faster with the F2 WPA but again...that was mainly due to oven capacity/amount of herb that can be used.

I can do a side-by-side comparison as I have 2 Furies (Snap & F2) and the WPA, and now waiting on the POTV accessory. All for science of course.

Regarding the WPA and my limited experience with it so far, though I’ve been using it a bit more as of late, it does take longer for the ‘heat soak’ and I’ve upped the temp a bit to compensate for this. I’ll use the same temp, material and amount (approximately - I don’t have a scale) for my comparison. To be continued...:peace:

Word of warning when using the POTV WPA.....I was using my D020-D bubbler and had forgotten how many hits I had taken. Temp was at 400F so I jacked it to max/430F. First hit at 430 wasn't an issue but the second one was harsh and choked me out and not in a good way. Had to half step those hits at 430F for a hit or two before I could stop being careful.

EDIT: Almost forgot my manners - Can't wait to hear how the WPA test with the POTV Accessory attachment and the F2 WPA works out. Thanks @Vaporific !!!!!

Check out the "Cheap high quality bubbler" thread in the Glass section of the FC. Discussion is mostly about good sellers at dhgate and pieces that people like. This is some recent discussion about some nice Fab egg bubblers.

In fact, I recently posted there on this dhgate piece, which is a little tiny bubbler that only stands less than 6" tall. It is not my main bubbler where my log vape is. However it is a great little guy that fits perfectly with my Fury 2 and the wpa. This little set up has been next to me on the couch at night for the last few days and it is an awesome paring for its purpose. Very happy.

The OD of the One glassware is definitely greater than the OD of the Fury glassware.

I had stored my Fury glassware, since the point of the One AA is to use glassware above the chamber that can be kept permanently in the One AA.

But due to the question here, I checked the Fury glassware in the One AA, and it slides easily but is somewhat loose. Not loose enough to be very sloppy and when inserted into the hot chamber, that should make the fit tighter on that end.

Meanwhile, I am very satisfied with the One Accessory Attachment in my Fury 1, using the optional One bent black glassware. It seems just long enough to cool the vapor sufficiently, and it is wider than the Fury glassware, so it draws even better, and I can leave it in the vape all the time. It rotates smoothly to stick out for use, and then back over the vape making it more compact.

I would prefer a little longer piece of glass - but - the cooling is sufficient, and I expect that POTV prefer for the vape to be sturdier - this shorter wider piece of glass is much less likely to break or crack than the longer, thinner Fury glassware.

BTW, I thought I would miss the green and red lights, but at this point, I have a good feel for how long the bowl takes to heat up sufficiently to use, and so I just start pulling when I think it is somewhat hot, and that works fine.

Just got my POTV's accessories.

First, the dosing caps: These things are the nicest sturdiest dosing caps I've seen for any vape, nicer even than the S&B caps. Interesting how much larger they are than the HR caps, which can fit inside of these. So increased herb capacity. On first test, the airflow seems good.

Second: The POTV mouthpiece native with the glass is nice, but significantly reduces the pocketablity compared to the HR mouthpiece and seems likely to allow foreign matter such a pocket lint, easy access to the oven. The HR glass(I have the HR bent glass mouthpiece and HR wpa) doesn't really fit this mouthpiece; way too small for a proper fit and wobbles and doesn't come close to sealing tightly for a draw.

Third: I did end up getting the POTV One waterpipe adapter, which fits smoothly into the POTV mouthpiece. This uses the oven rather than the adapter for loading, which increases the load size by 25% or maybe even more. Best for me as a dosing cap user, is that now I can use dosing caps, either the HR or the POTV, while using a wpa.

Now I have the best of both worlds! A stainless steel oven rather than aluminum, really nice caps, and ability to use both kinds of caps with my bubblers.

Great review and info - thanks! I’m however a bit confused: it sounds like the diameter of the HR stems are smaller than the POTV accessory attachment however shouldn’t it fit in the chamber as usual? Maybe it’s not an optimal seal but isn’t that how the HR stems work regardless if using an accessory attachment or not? :hmm::peace:

EDIT: was the HR stem inserted into the chamber as usual or above the oring/screen? If the latter then I completely understand the seal not being great. Thanks.

EDIT #2: just got home and was able to insert a HR stem into the top of the oring/screen, the side that's more recessed and faces up into the mouthpiece. With a little effort it does fit snugly though the smaller diameter is still susceptible to wobbles, but the seal at the foot of the stem would be be better than just sitting on top of the oring - and it would hold the stem down to a degree but wouldn't rely on it long term. It however could be another option in using the POTV accessory attachment but a poor one IMO...

Just tried the POTV accessory adapter/mouthpiece with their waterpipe adapter using a new POTV dosing cap all with my little Sneaky Pete globe bubbler. I mostly use my F2 for my near daily bike/ski/hike/etc. and only rarely do I use it at home. But this is a superb combo. And not that expensive. Highly recommend upgrade to my F2 friends. And still feeling really good about my now 19 month old, used almost every day F2 and also about HR's commitment to our health and safety. I'm guessing that POTV got to take advantage of the research and work that HR did with this now ubiquitous bit of manufactured device.

Just received the POTV accessory adapter and glass. Unfortunately it won’t stay on my Snap which I was hoping for and the intended target. It does fit my F2 as expected. So my A/B test will be reversed: F2 with POTV accessory attachment and glass and the Snap with the HR WPA.

The POTV glass is really snug in the attachment and I’m scared I’ll break it trying to remove it. I’ll try again later - gotta get back to work.

I’ll try to run the test tonight after my plans or tomorrow morning.

TGIF! :peace:

When you try to remove the glass, first heat up your unit, then remove it.
As things heat up, there will be a bit of expansion which should make your effort easier.

Good point, but wrong reason? Yes, things expand as they are heated. At the molecular level, movement (vibration) increases with temperature, in fact such expansion is a direct indicator of each molecule now needing more space 'to more around in'.

However, different materials do so at a different rate. The metal expands faster, degree by degree than than the glass does, making the gap between larger and larger as the hole expands faster than the stem inside it. Cooling would only make the fit worse, which is why the stem can be trapped if the fit is tight and things cool too much.

This is why putting a stuck metal lid on a jar under running hot water helps release the 'death grip' on a new jar (which was heated quite hot in the canning process to ensure the contents were sterile and would not mold on the shelf before you could enjoy them.

If the stem were metal and the oven glass, the rules would be different.

I’d love to have a different mouthpiece silicon cover. The stock F2 ones imho make the mouthpiece to get stuck in it and that’s a party breaker since it may lead to herb spilling if the chamber is loaded.
The design I’m envisioning covers the mouthpiece and the bottom part where the vapor path holes are. That way it helps the mouthpiece to stay in place and tighten the seal of it with the herb chamber. It would also isolate the vapor path also from the bottom.

Great idea & it’s happened to me too where the MP comes off when taking the cover off. Not all the time but occasionally. If the material is the same I would think it might still happen it the cover were redesigned as you say since the MP point is on the side and the fulcrum point in which it attaches to the body is also on the side of the proposed design making it susceptible to being pulled off. Could potentially happen with different material too I guess. Don’t get me wrong, another design is welcomed but not a dealbreaker for me. Still loving my dual Furies.

I’ll post my A/B test results with the POTV glass and HR WPA stem soon - I haven’t forgotten. Some interesting observations.

And finally, PSA: looks like the F2 price is still on sale. HR dropped the Fierce price indefinitely for now, too. Hmmmm.:hmm::):peace:
