Im scared to use it right now. Did i add a extra health risk?

You serious? I mean, you put some superficial scratches in some metal and that's a cause for health concerns?

If you are really concerned about metal particles, blow it out with canned compressed air, your breath, bellows, a hair dryer on high, whatever.

Right?

And yes...I generally am, indeed, an a-hole curmudgeon! haha

One thing that you can't do with the Digit that you maybe could with the Classic, is to have it power on with a plug in timer to heat up before you wake or get home.

And this is exactly why I gave my sister the digital and bought a classic. I set it up on a outlet timer so it turns on at 5 AM and off at midnight. At the time I was using it, I had to medicate approximately every hour, And the 30 minute auto shut off on the digital made it a continually frustrating experience. As soon as I was ready to use it again, it was totally cooled down.

I really wish they had just put a switch on the bottom of the digital so you could turn off the auto shut off if you wanted. Now that I don’t have to vape as frequently, I would have liked having the auto shut off option.

I woke up this morning and my Classic Volcano was not heating up. The warranty was also up. Luckily I'm an electrician, And have a T10 tool. I found out the thermostat light was burnt out. I found the two wires going to the heating element and hooked a light dimming cord to it. Marked the dial, So I can find the sweet spot. Guess what the Volcano works better than before I bought it ten years ago. You can get the AVB as dark as you want it. I am also at peace, This Volcano is well built with high grade materials. A very healthy vape IMO. The heat coming out of the Volcano is very clean. By the way Volcano does not have fan speeds. Volcano has a high powered air pump at one speed. There is filter at the bottom that will get clogged over time, And this will slow down the air speed.

Are you wondering what you are going to do with all those jars of AVB. First of all the Volcano will never combust your material, Only extract the oil off the material slowly. Take your lightest color AVB and loosely pack the easy valve fully. Now that the Volcano is nice and ready, Pop the easy valve on without the bag. Turn the pump on until you see vapor from the easy valve, Then pop the bag on. I usually set the Volcano to 5 or 350 and work my way up until fully extracted. If you are using the solid valve, The first bag will be light and the next will be fuller. Don't let your AVB jars get stale, You will need more heat to reactivate them.

Is there a difference between the
EASY VALVE Filling Chamber for Herbs
and the
EASY VALVE Filling Chamber for Liquids?
The easy valve can be used for herbs and concentrates. The easy valve comes with a stainless steel concentrate pad that fits inside perfectly. First heat up the pad by placing the easy valve on the heater and letting hot air pass through it for a few seconds. Then apply concentrate to the pad. Only a drop at a time, So none gets in the ceramic heating element. You can also apply the concentrate on top of your herbs and skip the concentrate pad.

Volcano is more convection than conduction. Conduction is what you will need to vaporize concentrates.

That's why I dab off a sapphire insert! :brow:

Convection can work alright for concentrates, the best convection vape I ever used for concentrates was my Flowerpot Showerhead, has a lot more horsepower on tap than the Volcano for vaporizing things like that.

It's interesting to me though because I always figured a lot of people in Europe would be vaping hash in their Volcano, but I can't see it working well in practice.

Kieff works great in the volcano.

Are you loading kief by itself? Last time I put some good kief in my filling chamber it gummed up the bottom screen pretty good. Maybe my temp was too low.

To be honest my Volcano is so old I'm not even 100% sure if it's working right anymore. Swear it takes 5 minutes these days to fill a large Reynolds turkey bag.

I really like the idea of vaping kief, was thinking about it recently that I don't understand why it's not more popular, it barely costs more than flower in California, doesn't need to be ground, and has quite a bit more bang for the buck.

Thanks but I know how to use it. I am trying to figure out if the difference is the construction of the filling chamber. Is the difference that the liquid version has no screen or is the actual filling chamber a different construction?

I turn the classic up to max and it works great.........gets ungummy after a few bags then stir.
I love Kieff also I prefer it over any other concentrate if they are all processed correctly.
Is the volcano my preferred method for it.........no.
Male to male with a basket screen and a life saber is my preferred method...........so far.

I have done that immediately after I purchased the Volcano. I wouldn't do it again. I revaped a lot of abv since extraction was so easy, but all in all taste of 200C> abv, is quite bad, and you'll end up wasting up a couple of bags with a lot of particles ending up in them compromising flavours. I did that because I regrinded very carefully all of the abv in order to extract cannabinoids to the fullest. That's something you will do if you are short on weed. Now I would prefer edibles or tinctures to get rid of that abv.
Now (if I am not short of weed) I revape on Volcano only to see how a new vape performs. That’s exactly what I did before posting, I revaped some pale brown ABV from my Supreme V3. Almost no vapor. Some of the best results in revaping ABV on Volcano that I remember from my collection are: Plenty, Mighty, SupremeV3. Worse results on vapes where the risk is charring your weed going up with temp, imho: Herborizer ti and Evo. I would love to know what you get if you revape a Flowerpot bowl on a Volcano. And what you get in you vape 250mg of well extracted Flowerpot ABV on a Volcano bag instead of just one bowl’s worth.

I agree completely, I tried it too and couldn’t get past the taste and harshness.
