ModPod Labs StemPod Si

Deez Nuts!
I think I want to try a Stempod Si. 2 questions:

Will my Vaporesso Swag or Armour Pro be a good fit for it or should I order something different? They are both over 50 watt devices..

Anyone know how long it takes to get one from a pre-order, if I order it today?

Armour Pro will work with it, but the Swag's cap of the 18650 battery may be a problem for the Stempod to sit properly. not sure.

@jbm it's still fine i think. it's not a big deviation. even 0.3 is fine, i think. just will be harder to take a draw or so.

Still having problems?

So I recently ordered a spare build deck and stock Clapton coils for my Si, and i installed a pair today.

The resistance is supposed to be 0.23-0.26 and these are reading 0.28. Did I mess something up? I tried to upload a pic but couldn't get it to take.
Should be ok, after a burn off and some heat cycles they will most likely settle at a slightly lower resistance

btw, how can u use 60w? you take a draw slowly? what's the tip here for taking a draw? thanks
With 60 it's a faster draw for sure, anything over 50ish is water pipe only for me

Thanks. I haven't dry fired them yet, so I'll do that next. 20 watts?
Yeah if you're using SS coils then just get them to patina and that should get rid of any finger oils from installation

So I heated them at 20w till they glowed a couple times. They looked sort of coppery but now after a bowl have turned dull gray, though they still have a little copper to them. Has this oxidized? Should I stop using them?

This is normal, once the coils get used a few times the rainbow fades into this color, this just means they're broken in

Thanks. I got them glowing red and then read somewhere that heating them to glowing can damage the wire. Thanks for all your help, Dan, I'm pretty new to this.

They glow with proper use, and the glow isn't what causes the coils to degrade, it's the speed of the heat up and cool down.

Essentially trading heater longevity for speed, mitigated by the fact it's rebuildable

Ah, now I get it. Though I did keep the button down till they glowed pretty brightly.

I am interested in the Stempod Si. I have an og stempod and I never really got it dialed in and my fat fingers can't replace the O-ring.

The Si is lighter and hopefully I will like it.

Can someone enlighten me as why are the coils kanthal?

Will Kanthal work on a DNA mod?

Will Kanthal work on TCR?

Thanks

Also very interested to hear from people who already have a SI?

I have an Si and like it a lot.
The Kanthal coils will not work with TCR. They can only be used in wattage mode. I have since put Clapton coils on mine but am still using it in wattage mode.
@supershredderdan has said that it’s easier for beginners to start with wattage mode, and this was the reason for the Kanthal coils shipping on the Si. Easy enough to change out the coils if you want TCR.

hello
I have à Stempod Si with the stock coil. Whats your favorite wattage for flavor ? At 40 watt ( 25% air intake open) it give me good hit but not so good flavor. I think, I also need to wash the silicon sleeve, I have a strong smell of silicon.

I love the ability to micro dose with the two basket method. How do you use the S&B capsule, did you lower your wattage because the caps is closer to the heater ?

Would like to learn your tips for the Stempod Si,

Thanks

Sold my stempod. Never got the oring working properly and that kinda bugged me. Stems would rock around a little with out the o-ring. It would get pretty hot after a few sessions, and was quite weighty. Minor things but the competion is fierce in the world of vapes.

Was hopping stempod si would address a lot of these issues. Now i have one and indeed it does!

The hold the SI has on a stem is way better. It will hold it in place and you dont have to worry about it falling out. The atty does not get as hot and is lighter.

Was concerned about getting a werid silicone taste, but honestly i cant taste anything from the silicone.

For me the SI is an upgrade from the normal stempod and cheaper.

Rock on!

Got my stem today, a very nice little cooling stem in some bombproof packing.
@supershredderdan was onto it & even messaged me to make sure I received the tracking & the stem.
I feel like that was really quickly & well sorted out, especially being an international customer & all.
Thanks man.

I requested clapton coils on my Si.

My resistance numbers are all over the board. Anyone else using the claptons who may want to share their resistance numbers?

SSV w/ Standard HC, LSV HC, thermovape all,
I was using a Smok X priv. It started acting up so grabbed a Aegis Legend for like $50 with shipping on theline and I feel like it works so much better. Better hits at lower watts. Also I am loving the SI because no need for an o-ring and fits so snug and nice. Super satisfied awesome vape...
