Arizer Air II

WAY earlier in this discussion, a member mentioned PBW for cleaning glass. Figured it would be good for my Arizer stems. I have searched the forum with "PBW cleaning glass" and variations of that search, and I get a page that has nothing to do with cleaning anything.

So does anyone know the proportions I need to mix for a gallon jug?

I'm guilty on this, it was me, and 'PBW' is too short to search with. The thread cited above covers this topic but you should not premix it with water. The 'Oxygen action' chemicals will be expended when you come to use it. Mix it up fresh for each use.

If the goal is Solo/Air/ArGo stems (or similar) I suggest a using your dishwasher (assuming you have one). I just put them in the silverware tray and let the hot detergent flowing through do the work. For tough cases I have a small plastic funnel I connect with a piece of tubing to increase the flow. Very easy. Otherwise a pinch in a small container (I use a 'travel tube' as sold by PV for straight ones that fit, otherwise a soft plastic 'condiment squirt bottle' (avoid 'glass on glass') with modest shaking (to flush fresh solution through) every minute or so. Like these:

I love the squid bottle hack. Great idea! I need to get some of those travel tubes. .I carry all my Arizer stuff in a school pencil box from Walgreens. All the stems are in bubble wrap, and I have a separate pouch for screens. It would take up less room to use those travel bottles. It's a fun little box, but it works great for nosy motel maids; totally uninviting.
I've used my dishwasher before, but the stems come out funky. It's a recently purchased Bosch, so it's a decent dishwasher. Something about boroscillate doesn't get dry in the diswasher. Same problem with my tea kettle. But it's a lot easier than the PBW! I also soak stems in an herb bottle with iso after a couple of uses. Just a hassle.

I always hated smoking out of a dirty pipe, I found an easy way to clean my glass. We have one of those instant hot faucets on the kitchen sink, I would place a wet paper towel over the drain of the sink (I used wet so it would seal to the sink)to catch the resin and using a set of tongs, hold my piece under the running hot water. It was the easiest way to clean the glass I've ever used. I don't see why it wouldn't work with a vape, but haven't tried it. I like to save the reclaim for times when I run out of flower.

I'm guessing you meant 'squirt' bottle.....only one letter off, but it does change the meaning....

Sounds to me like not enough washing? That is it would come clean with another ride or two through the wash? It could be a hard water problem, something PBW is formulated to deal with. But if the greasy dishes are coming out clean my money's on lack of flushing flow. I did a test you might want to try. Put a shot glass in each compartment of the silverware tray and run it for part of minute and see which fills fastest. I found the one on the right end filled much faster than the rest (being in the corner benefiting from water coming off the wall after the arm 'gets there'?). Once I figured that out I was able to abandon the funnel most of the time for stems that aren't really fouled. Otherwise, you might try the funnel idea, it 'always works' since the funnel fills up with each pass of the arm and feeds the continuous flow through the glass.

Or just buy a new dishwasher........ In a better world, clean stems rate no less.

Regards to all.

One can't spell, the other can't count!:o

And I can't do either of them.

Depends on how you look at it (doesn't it always.....). The OP posted five letters, the first four were correct......

Still it passed spell check.

Just so long as nobody loses too much sleep searching for squid jars. Personally I don't know where to start looking for them. Amazon? Google? Local Fish Market? Bait Shop?

I’ve seen the extra tubes for the stems but the 90mm ones will fit the WPA’s thickness?
I believe the 14mm WPA is no thicker than a standard aroma tube, and actually shorter as well. If you have the 18/19mm wpa then the PVC tubes may not work though. Also, the mm measurements are all in relation to the length of the tube.

Another option for storage could be an 18650 battery case.

I purchased an Airizer Air 2 package over 420.

I tried it last night after a few burn offs, got wispy vapor ended up cranking the power up to 415F.

I tried it again today. I let it heat up 45 seconds past when it said it was at temperature before I started. I vaped for 8 minutes drawing roughly 4 times a minute. I started at 370 and increased to 390. I got flavor, the stem got hot.

I didn't see any visible vapor. The material did brown, not dark. It was not consistent ranging from dark green to medium brown.

I'll see another FCer tonight and will let them give it a whirl. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you're off to at least a fair start? Despite no visible vapor you got some THC?

A few suggestions, first forget judgement based on visible vapor. You want to get off, not look good, right? Follow effects not what you see.

Be sure your herb is dry going in, don't waste power drying it out (necessary first to get vapor later) that would otherwise do something useful......like making vapor.

Second, start at something like 390 and keep it there, learn to get good results there.

This is a conduction vape, it needs 'heat soaks' between hits. Forget "roughly 4 times a minute", try 1 or at most 2. You can exhaust all the heat that conducts in before the internal temperature gets very high that way (the display is merely a guide, indicating the temperature of the cup, not the load).

Under the conditions you're trying to use it in different levels of heat are being reached by different parts of the load. You're no doubt seeing (if you look closely) the darker parts are at the bottom (no glass for the heat to have to go through) and along the sides (where the heat enters through the walls) the greenest parts in the center (longer heat path) and top (heat being 'stolen' and conducted up the stem by the glass).

In short, it seems to be on par, you just need to learn a bit on how it works. Experiment some, follow the results you like, you'll get there.

Regards to all.

I got about the same out of mine..........not comparable to the solo as so many claim it to be regards vapor production.
Then I broke both screens within hours of first use..........to be clear all of that is most likely user caused issues in my case..........I am a idiot.

I'm going to try OF's suggestions.

Having visible vapor is not necessary for getting high. For me having it is necessary though. Perhaps it is psychological but it is part of the experience for me. I think because I smoked it for so long I like having visible vapor as part of the fun. Flower is plentiful and cheap so I don't mind that it is wasteful.

I started in the vaping world several years ago with the Firefly 2 because some guy on the internet, vapecritic, said it was one of the best. I used it maybe 10 times before it became a paper weight and I gave up on vaping. Why? Taste but not much vapor. It wasn't completing the experience for me so that I could stop smoking. Feb 2018 I saw a video by some other guy on the internet, Troy, with the Mighty. I bought it. I have never combusted since.

Fifteen vaporizers later:
One of our trusted vendors told me the Air 2 tastes better than the Fury 2. I already had a Fury 2 coming so I thought it would be fun to compare. I saw a video with Sneaky Pete where he was throwing out nice clouds at roughly 370 F.
At about 10:44
"When I go to 188 which is about 370f you are getting these huge hits with ease just back to back to back"

I didn't get 15% of what he showed when I was at 415F.

I've got some material out getting it as dry as can be (easy to do when you live in a desert). I'm going to put in a fresh battery, let it heat up for two minutes before I start and do the 1 or two hits per minute that OF recommended.

There are times I just have the wrong technique, this could be one of those.

Make sure your stem is all the way inserted. When I first got my Air2, I thought it was defective as it didn't vape well at all. I then realized that what I thought was a fully inserted stem was actually not and I pushed that fucker all the way in with some necessary force. That did the trick and I felt kinda silly for not realizing the obvious problem sooner.

Not to worry, all the clouds you want will follow your learning how to work with Solo/Air/ArGo. It's part of getting the load to proper temperature, which you're clearly not now? If it's in your head, try to put it aside for a while, right now it's working against you? 'No visible vapor this time either.....'

Good suggestion. I doubt that's the problem since he is getting color change, but it's easy to check. FWIW my money is on the fifteen seconds between hits, perhaps moisture in the load.

Dry herb and heat soaks I think is the cure. Fixing the temperature at a reasonable point will also help?
