Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

I’m going to keep looking for a 3.5mm thick wall banger, but this should be good enough if I can’t.

Please let me know if you find one!

But nice find (if the bucket is tall enough?), I think I might be able to benefit from the extra 1mm of gap anyways since i'm torching. Sidewalls always get hotter than the floor.

Oh yeah, too bad it doesn't have the bevelled edge!

Will do!!

It looks like it has a beveled lip to me, but maybe I am wrong? It is definitely a requirement for me because it doesn’t seal super well otherwise.

Just so Dab HAppy!
It does look like it, but it says flat top?
That particular item says flat top in the item title, however it says it twice in the description that it has a beveled edge so who knows? They do have other ones that say beveled edge and show a beveled edge w/ 4mm opaque bottom.

I’m not sure about that site, sorry guys! I got sent a code and now it says it’s not valid which is weird. And the descriptions seem off. If I can’t find anything better I’ll buy it through PayPal and let everybody know how it is when it comes in.

I ordered a 22mm ruby from greek glass, though I'd much rather have sapphire. I'd also much rather be ordering from my favorite quartz monger, I'll be using it with his 30mm opaque and axial coil. Looking forward to trying it, I've been waiting for a 30mm compatible one for a while.

Why do you prefer the sapphire dish?

I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on GG's 22mm ruby. I wish it were 24mm, but the 22mm is hard to pass up for $100!

Does anyone have any experience with a 22mm insert inside a 30mm banger with 25mm ID, like @710Coils? Just hoping the 1.5mm of play per side doesn't bother me too much.

Anyone have a coupon code for GG right now? I saw he said he'd be doing a 420 sale soon, just hoping the presale doesn't end before then!

gotcha i think thats why i want the ruby so i dont see the build up lol. I did like it being clear though, if they dont sell out ill probably get a sapphire also. I really liked seeing the concentrate melt.

It's hard for me to know sapphire is "pure" and not want it more than ruby... I mean it does make sense impurities may or may not mean better vaporization/flavor/whatever. At the very least ruby is different and different can be fun and gives me an excuse to get both and "test" a lot.

(accidentally posted this in the 710coils thread first, bed time for me)

Edit: Also I think ruby is prettier.

Edit Edit: I... forgot 420 was coming up

Enail wise, I just have a coil stand holding my coil in place and i put my banger inside it to keep it warm and i remove it to take a dab and put it back to keep warm. Its my wireless way of dabbing with an enail and avoids using a torch at home. Best part about it, is that it hits like a torch dab but using a coil to warm it.

@Shooby check this out!! https://tochitorch.com/products/tochi-torch-e1

Expensive but sounds like it could completely replace the torch and butane??

Love the concept... but found the reality to be loud and bulky. Sits on a table - not great for taking out of the house. Similar to noise of a heat gun you've used to melt shrinkwrap or loosen adhesive.

Useful in a glassblowing studio or loud party... not in my house. E nails have replaced torches for ~90% of my dabbing needs. But something like the Tochi would be awesome for that last 10%. However for me that is generally traveling needs and thats when I turn to a travel rig, banger, and torch. It would be cool to have something conceptually similar to the Tochi that is slightly easier to travel with.

Agree with others on that its just a repackaged heat gun. Basically a fancy looking desktop version of my heat gun i used to use for my hockey sticks. To remove the blades.

But with this method, you have to wait the heat up times and cool times that is similar to torching that i am trying to avoid. My end game is to have a hot quartz coil with out a cord or the use of butane that is ready to use at all times.

Sam is right, heat guns scream. Its basically a over powered hair dryer that can burn paper.
