My hopper is still running great. Thinking of selling my spare since it just sits up in the closet. Don't want to be without tho so I'll prob keep it for emergencies.

Pax 3 and og vapcap are the others I use but gh is my favorite and most used.

.. missed out on that 300 NV shower head deal on entexchange(dagnabbit). I think after I have a desktop that preforms how I wish I'll be set. Still on the vape hunt tho

Looks like they're taking steps to prevent sending out duds over and over and over. I really really hope they can get their shit together completely and start operating like a real company eventually. I feel for all you guys that have been waiting forever to get your units back. No idea why they've been so quick with mine but it surprises me as I've lost my cool and bitched them out multiple times in the past. Seemingly no rhyme or reason to their RMA process these days. Can't say I'm not happy that they've gotten mine back to me so quickly though :dog:

IDK if it's enough to be called encouraging, but I really hope that they're genuine about actually turning things around. Even if things have been a mess for a while, I think we'd all love to see better reliability and servicing times. I've had to wonder how they can send duds out as much as they do, what did their testing look like before this?

after receiving my replacement body almost a week ago, first impressions are that again, most than probably the unit has come faulty.. it doesn't go apart but again battery usage is terrible. I must confirm this with other batteries from my friends that they're all working fine. Although, we're talking for three batteries.. I mean how damned of a coincidence will it be if they're all faulty...

Not to mention the fact that I received the replacement unit and I could see lots of gunk(?) and other black staff going on around the edge of the rim. How difficult is to send in a properly looked after piece and not just send it as someone else (?) probably sent it in.
Most than probably they're using refurbished pieces when talking about warranty and they are recycling all units being sent in. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense..

Other than that, GH is now working even for couple of sessions on a battery. Blue lights once again tremble a bit but let's hope that that's how it's supposed to be.

Big ups to HL for sending the replacement body reasonably soon and fingers crossed may this be the last time (which I highly doubt)...

So last night, I used dental floss and worked it into the seam of the temp dial. It got out all sorts of gunk. If anyone else does it, it works well, but you have to be careful. The edges are sharp and can cut the floss. After doing it, mine has been working much better. I still get the police lights now and then, but it's not near as bad as it was. I'm still too afraid to send it in

My "repaired" unit is just as broken as it was when I sent it in, just in a different way. It was going straight to blue and producing no heat, now it produces heat but the back end gets so hot instantly you can't even touch it. How they're still sending shit like this out is beyond me. Still not surprised though sadly.

Sorry to hear this. Being afraid of the length of the RMA process is one thing, fearing whether the returned unit will work or not is another - and that's what I fear the most. There's a percentage of RMAs returned that do not work or work no better than what they were sent into RMA for. My luck and fear is that my unit work well. It flat out died at the end on top of inconsistent performance, hot backend, etc. Sorry this is happening to RMAs, I really am.

What a great idea! I don't recall reading that herein, then again I've skipped many pages after reading the first 200 and then again over the last year or so. Thanks. I'll add that to Blu-Tac to things to get/try whenever I get my Hopper back, presumably in working order! :brow: :peace:

@Vaporific yeah, I don't think anyone has listed it. It's just something that I thought of last night that seemed to work pretty well. It didn't make mine perfect, but it got a lot of gunk out and was just thin enough to get in there. Hope it helps yours!
Excellent! Dare I imagine what gunk could be lodged in such a tight space? I guess that’s what flossing is for :) Just gotta get my Ti back (ahem).

I could use another new battery or two with my loaner Ti but that would take another 2-4 months. HL is the bane of my existence, lol! :peace:

I need new batteries too. The one (single battery) that came with mine is old and barely gets me through 1 bowl before dying. I wish I could find an extra one. That and a magnetic charger wouldn't hurt. The one that came with it was faulty. I got it used, so it is what it is. I just wish I had more batteries and a charger that worked. I have an external charger, but it's nice to have something to charge it on the go. Just gotta find someone willing to part with em!

it's better getting few extra batts and a nitecore double or quad rather than a magnetic charger. Personally, with all the hassle that was going on with their charger, I've never used it. Not to mention the fact that it charges the battery to the very top without leaving that necessary 'buffer' that most batteries need.

Reg the floss, nice tip... I ll do that later on and see if I have any gunk removed..

Pretty sure everything but the battery falls under the warranty - so you should be able to make a claim for the charger if you have the device registered under your account.

I find I rarely use mine, but it can come in handy

Old & In the Way
With 2 hoppers in current rotation, changing batteries happens too often. We usually pop at least one at a time on an oem charger for the shear convenience of it. When I finally looked elsewhere and picked up a Splinter, I realized that two very "hopper' things were more pita than I had admitted; changing batteries and the constant threading/unthreading of back end and mouthpiece.

I bought a few spares with my pre-order and another couple about a year before my Ti finally died. Some of the original batteries barely held a charge and were useless. I’ve noticed over time, even after mild use, they don’t hold a charge like they used to. I know they’re not supposed to last forever but I think they perform worse over time after sitting idle but fully charged for a while.

I’ve never used the magnetic charger that comes with it and have a couple of Nitecore chargers since I’d been swapping batteries often. I wouldn’t waste my money on their charger even though it looks cool. A buddy is still waiting on the steel case - it’s been 3.5 years! That’s BS, and so is HL’s current battery supply issue. Just another day in Hopperville.

How are we supposed to use Hoppers without batteries? Absolutely ridiculous! A real clown show if you ask me...:hmm::peace:

Hey all, just curious. Has anyone bought one of the new ones from the site that ship "same day". I'm wondering if they are finally coming off the line working. I would consider buying one again if they are working from the start or if they have a new process for sending out working new units. I have all dynavaps at home, but a hopper for on the go would be just lovely. I just had to sell mine when they became too much of a hassle, but now I find myself craving one again.

3 times out of 4 (being conservative in HL’s favour) when they return your RMA’d unit they are just as broken as when you sent it in.

They are apparently unable to repair things with even a 25% success rate let alone ship out new units that actually work.

I’d consider selling mine ... but what would I sell them for? I can’t sell it if it’s not working 100% and it’s likely going to cost me in excess of the value of a new one in shipping sending it back to be repaired and I’m still unlikely to ever have a working one .... I guess wait and see if one of these years things get better otherwise they will just keep sitting there unused ... and eventually make their way to the trash

My Ti one currently works pretty well, but I doubt that would last if I used it much, my SS one hasn’t worked for more than a year, and I’ve spent a few hundred on shipping for warranty repair I’m sure.

What a fucking joke

This
is what I’m AFRAID of - there are percentages of RMAs being returned that don’t work or are no better than what they were sent in for. Knowing my luck my RMA’d Hopper, due back later this year, won’t work. It didn’t when I sent it in. I have little faith at this point. Im however buoyed by the loaner from a friend but that is dimming quickly as I’m running out of patience with HL and just not into the Hopper as much with 2 Furies at my disposal, for a change. It is nice to have something different in the lineup to use occasionally and I thought a Hopper would be it but given the ongoing issues and not enjoying it as much as I used to, even using it as a backup loses its appeal.

I won’t give them any money for new accessories or units, just batteries and that’s a mercy offering cause you can’t operate a unit without one. And they’re currently out of them for 2-4 months to boot. It is a friggin’ joke the way they’ve run the company with lingering supply chain and repair issues still very much problematic - for customers and prospects. Essentially it’s buyer beware with HL.

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone. :peace:

I've seen 'sparking' lightning style light going round the blue lights...... wtf is going on really...?... and if this happens while you draw, you almost get hit by it... oohh boy.. this is getting really ridiculous.. my gh is definitely not my daily driver anymore.. it's kinda like the vape that you brag about it for when it used to be a fucking great vape.. :p :p

anyone else that has seen this before...??

Really, that's a bug, not a feature? My lights always flicker when I draw. I figured they all do that.

I realized that two very "hopper' things were more pita than I had admitted; changing batteries and the constant threading/unthreading of back end and mouthpiece.

No doubt. I'd probably carry the Hopper more often, except for the necessary pocketful of batteries and the need to swap them out frequently. That and I always feel like I need a backup vape with me, for when mine becomes the next RMA.

About a month ago, I lost it and unloaded on Hopper Labs in our warranty communication. It was mostly civil, but I did let one f-bomb fly. In the almost two years that I've owned my Hopper, it has only been functioning for two and a half months. The rest of the time, it's been in for an RMA. And this last RMA has lasted for almost 13 months.

I don't know why I did it, but I gave them more money. So fucking fed up with their warranty, I put in an order for a spare body just to have something that (hopefully) worked right from the start.

We shall see.

They told me on March 11th that they expected my repair to be complete in 7-10 days. They said that their new estimate times were "radically conservative." Well, they've blown that window by weeks. This was after I yelled at them for blowing their earlier time estimate by months and months and months and months...

My Hopper is finally in "final testing." Or so they tell me. I've confirmed my shipping address. The message they sent me to confirm my shipping address read "Failure to respond to this message within 5 days will result in your Hopper never being returned. We will store the Hopper for an additional 30 days after which it will no longer be kept for you. We will not recover or replace the device if the address is incorrect or if you do not respond within 30 days".

I confirmed.

It's been longer than 5 days.

I really hope these goons get their goddamned act together. They're either pathological liars, grotesquely incompetent, or both. In any event, they have told me falsehood after falsehood about when their faulty, unreliable product would be repaired and returned to me.

This is, simply put, the worst consumer product experience I've ever had.

I can't wait to try my new 2019 Dynavap M. Did I mention the Dynavaps? I have been using them almost exclusively in the Hopper's absence, and can't seem to stop buying them. Now there's a company I can get enthusiastic about. Their designs and materials just keep getting better and better with time, and they do everything in house. Their all-metal vapes are basically indestructible. They have no batteries to recharge, or back ends to die. They make a line of accessories, and they're all in stock pretty much all the time. And they're beautiful. And their customer service and shipping are lightning fast. And they've never lied to me.

Grotesquely incompetent - as business folks. They may be engineers but don’t know how to run a company. The ‘lies’ are extensions of their lack of business experience. Just my two cents...:2c::peace:
