@Ramahs, would appreciate your accessmemt of the glasscharlie stem when you have
Tried it.

I plan to. Tracking update from three days ago showed it was two US states away from me, geographically. So hopefully I'll have it in the next couple of days.

How much does it cost to have it shipped to usa? Does it have a carb hole? Seems like it would be to restricted without a hole

The stem was £15 and the shipping was £12. At PayPal's exchange rate + a $0.99 fee, I paid a total of $38.13 USD.

As far as the carb hole is concerned, I like carbless stems.
Also, the carb won't do shit unless you are using a stem that also incorporates a condenser.

Sometimes I'm in the mood for a stem that includes a carb, and sometimes I'm in the mood for a carbless, condenserless stem. I like having both.

I have a Blackwood body, a Cocobolo stem and the most beautiful Black and White Ebony stem and two VonGs, a Blackwood and a Burl. All were made by you over three years ago now. They are still beautiful and fully intact. Even those incredibly thin bodies and stems have held up over the years. You are clearly an expert wood artist. Although I do love the straight bodies, your first generation VonGs are especially treasured.

Here they are, my oldest VapCap midsections. Left to right; 14mm Burl Vong body with Burl mp. Black and White Ebony stem with spinning ti mp. Blackwood body with Burl mp. Cocobolo stem and mp. 14mm Blackwood VonG with silver mp.

Have a fantastic trip Ed! We all look forward to hearing all about it!!

Hey @Squiby,

Pretty cool collection you have there -nice one. Just wanted to ask you your opinion on the Cocobolo mp you have. I have a titanium VapCap in a Cocobolo stash for which I was considering purchasing a Cocobolo mp -they sell them at a local shop down here in Australia.

Reason I have not bought it yet is because I have seen a fair bit of negative info online that Cocobolo is not the safest wood to put in your mouth. This bothers me but still thinking of getting it as my set up would look awesome with it. I thought I would ask your advice as you have a cocobolo mp and seem to be a wood connoisseur to boot.

Cheers.

God, I cannot stop getting things for this. Just found out about the SJK IH and the DDave mod for it, and since I was already ordering from Dave I got his glass cooler too! Soon I’ll have two full Dynavap Ms, three tips, a Dynacoil, an XL condenser with dark wood mouthpiece, a triple flame torch, four single flame torches, and the IH with DDave mod. Ridiculous.

Cocobolo dust can be irritating on skin, but with a mouthpiece you should be alright. Cocobolo is one of my favorite woods and I have multiple cocobolo stems for multiple vaporizers.

As do I. Of course I know better, but I still tell myself that. :smug:

And, in other news:

Hey, Prince of Pot, you're doing it wrong!

He could be using the hot torch technique where you heat the cap halfway through to get a longer heat cycle. I do it ever so often. I don't recommend it though since the odds of scorching the load is high.

How long should Cap's Last?
I got mine Vapcap 10/2018 and have used it all day every day since. Messed up a few times when I 1st got it, but not combusted by over heating in ages. This cap has taken 5 months of abuse now and is starting to die. I have soaked it for 1h in warm ISO and 2days in soapy water with Q tip treatments in between. Both clickers still work, but the 2nd cool down click takes 2 to 5 min's now. It's even made me Jump late last night after it clicked about 10mins after my hit. Magnets, cold water and blowing it does not help I can rush it to click by tapping the cap or pushing the clicker from the inside. Today while i was out I see one clicker has cracked in the center. Still working just a PITA

I'd contact dv... Shouldn't be clicking that long after :rofl:they might even want yours back to see the phenomenon :)

I've only had one cap of several possibly start to die on me after 2 years of regular use.. And to be fair I've re polished it several times with sandpaper and a drill :) I think I've made it too thin as it scorches the bowl so easily now.. Oops.

I use a couple of caps for maybe more than two years now and they are still working well. About cleaning the cap, George discourages to soak the cap in ISO. Here's a short clip about cleaning the cap:

Cheers for the link. I had Seen it before , Normaly I just water swob cap because im a flower only user and it does not get too messy. My cap was fk'ed before it had even seen ISO. The 1h ISO and 2 day soap water was a last ditch attempt to save it. I have contacted Vapefiend with a pic to see what they say .

I've got probably 4 caps that have seen heavy use over more than 2 years. Out of those, one cap became totally unreliable: clicking way too late, having a cool down click several minutes after a hit etc...

The other caps all still work perfectly fine after a lot of use. I think sometimes you just end up with one that is less durable. I tore a cap apart once. They are extremely simple- literally just two bimetallic discs. The inside of the cap is actually the bottom of one of the bimetallic discs.

I do sometimes wonder if at some point there will be a big wave of cap failures. I would imagine a lot of them will have a pretty similar life expectancy.

Kinda sounds like one of my caps, well mine isn't cracked inside but the 2nd click is very unreliable and sometimes happens pretty quick but usually it's awhile till the 2nd click happens. Seems like it's been getting worse for awhile but it does still work. I believe it might be my fault, it was my 2nd vapcap purchase and the cap didn't fit. I contacted DynaVap but it was after the black Friday sale and they took a week or 2 to get back to me and by that point I may have done some damage. They told me what I did wrong and I already knew by that point and they offered 10 or 20% off a new cap. Posted about it on here too but there were so many posts about the shadow M that no one answered my question here till the next day. By that point I had used pliers to try squeezing the cap to make it fit tighter so it wouldn't just fall off the vapcap or go flying across the room when it clicked. I was using the pliers while the cap was on the tip so I didn't do a ton of damage but there's small dents on my cap from it. It seemed to work fine at 1st then the 2nd click started being later and later. Found some old magents that are stronger than normal magents and when I 1st started using them it seemed to make the 2nd click happen much faster but now even though I use the magnets daily the 2nd click is usually very late. But my other cap that's alot older and been used way more works perfect still.

I'd contact dv... Shouldn't be clicking that long after :rofl:they might even want yours back to see the phenomenon :)

Never thought about polishing them making them thinner but that could happen. I've polished both of my caps twice but it's with a dremel with a brush attachment that I doubt would make my cap thinner but maybe?

Also I almost always use Everclear to clean my vapcap parts. The older cap has been in Everclear a whole lot more so I doubt the Everclear or even ISO would really damage them.

Does that one have a cracked disc like the one shown above?
