Hey :) the retaining nut of the top of the vrod setup is stuck. Oil has solidified and isn’t making it any easier to unscrew. Almost want to take some pliers to it but don’t want to damage anything. Good idea or no?

If you have a smaller torch lighter you can leave the VROD turned off and hit the retaining nut and post with the flame to cause enough expansion to unscrew it without the VROD itself being 600 degrees. This way you can really grab ahold of it without worrying about burning yourself.

FWIW if oil is collecting up there you may want to check your dab technique or inhale speed as the dish should really never need removing for cleaning.

My flowerpot weedeater bundle arrived on friday, earlier than I expected.

I had expected the shipping to take much longer than it did, which is both good and bad. I had family staying with me until last night, and my office/vape room was temporarily converted into a bedroom for a 2 year old. Besides being woken up at 3AM by a child screaming "poopy!", this meant my first few nights with the flowerpot were spent on the back porch with low temps and some wind, but I was still really impressed.

True...but you can set you controller to 175F (maybe even 150 F) and heat up the VROD and that should take care of it without the unit being scorching hot.

No?

I tried that first but it didn't work for me. It seemed like when the whole thing was warm it still kept the nut snug, but for whatever reason the contrasting temperatures worked for me the one time I had that problem.

Thanks...I don't have a VROD but fairly low temp heating worked to get the nut off of my D-nail Halo...I guess its dependent on a lot of different factors but I can def see where a pocket torch would work.

Cheers

Thank you both very much for responding @invertedisdead and @Baron23 Mother nature's tread lock. I'm sure there's teams of biomed engineers looking for a organic thread lock. Rosin sure works pretty good.

Has anyone used their FlowerPot with a silicone bong? Tempted to buy one or a Tankglass piece to take to Jamaica. Big price difference between those two options, silicone piece is a lot less expensive. How nasty is Silicone with your FlowerPot or how nasty does it get with use?

Greatest vaporizer is up to personal preference in usage, but the flowerpot is one of my favorites

I haven't used it with the flowerpot, but I find a noticeable difference in general with silicone. You don't think you can pick up a piece at a tourist smoke shop?

Back when life was surreal and growing CANNABIS was dangerous however free. Outside mostly!
A FLOWER POT would have been fun in the field of COLA’s.
Kief is so cool however we did not no better & used it to keep the LAVA soil off our feet?
$100/rent ocean front.

Life was worth living once?
$5.00/gram for kief we’re I am.
Could of made some cash?

Shoe’s?

Not a very good selection of cheap glass that is way over priced and would likely break when I am not there.. need something that maybe tossed around.. or buy a cheap piece there and consider it a write off

I enjoy this one it's very sturdy and allows ice to be used. The silicone taste went away after a couple of uses.

Not science, but my Vrod was on 680 with the stock dish, and I’ve got it on 700 with the glass because I found it too cool.
Haven’t been dabbing because just so happened to run out of dabs the same day I broke the other dish :(. Other than the difference In controller temp, I cant tell them apart.
Will be ordering another dish though as the glass is obviously more fragile and if I break this it’s out of action.
Stillthough, other than silly mishaps like this it’s still virtually industructable, a single broken part seems the worst you could do.

I've gone so far, as to get a washcloth damp (wring it very dry)... freeze it for a few minutes.....
hit retaining nut with a torch, while holding the base with the cold rag.

Yeah.. like that.

Hey guys I have a quick question. I was looking at buying a used FP from someone who purchased it in August. The thing is from the pictures they sent me the v-rod head is gold which I haven't seen before. Is this normal? They are asking 300 for the vrod starter kit. Do you think that is a good deal or should I wait for their 4/20 sale? I emailed New Vape about if they are doing a4/20 sale and the representative said they aren't sure if its going to happen this year though.

Normal colouring from some heated use I would say.

Titanium changes colour over time.

I agree with @emmdeemo, the golds turn to purples and blues with higher temps.

What I see in the picture would cost ~$450 new I think, so even if NewVape gave a 20% discount (my guess is 10-15% if they do it at all) it would still cost more than $300.

As long as you pay in a way that you can get your money back if it’s not delivered (and/or you’re buying from a trusted user here), the only thing you’re really losing is time on the controller warranty which you probably won’t need anyway. Oh, and you would get to watch thing head slowly turn blue and purple instead of watching it turn gold. :)

There are a couple of small things I see you might want to buy from NewVape though; it looks like they’re including a quartz dish, but you may prefer the $25 SiC dish, and if they only have regular screens you might pick up a double-weave screen or two.

Now I have to go play The Division Bell because of your username, @clusterone ;)
