What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

I have two box mods, HCigar VT75D and Wismec Evolv DNA250 Reuleaux. The Wismec I have been using with my Custom Z purchased direct from RBT with great results using @HerbieVonVapster e-cig profiles from FCShare, but I did fix the ohms at 0.40. The temps read were low, it's low temp was 330 F and about the highest I needed to go was 350 F.

When the HCigar arrived I made the beginner mistake of upgrading the software on both mods and installing the latest FCShare e-cig themes, what a fuck up. Neither vape was performing. Let me just say it is very difficult to test two Splinter Zs back to back on two different mods let alone one.

I blindly changed a lot of settings, but ultimately reverted to the eCig profiles and bumped the resistance up on each Splinter Z above what the cold Ohms were measured to. The Custom Z is set to 0.40 and at the moment the V1 is set at 0.44 with the temperature set at 400 F I am getting great strong results from both versus the whispy watered down draws I was getting right after I upgraded software and profiles. I'll keep refining the resistance, but I cannot help but feeling this is not the right way to deal with the differences.
We have similar setups and I'm surprised by the Z-like resistance of your V1. I only need to run mine in the .23-24 range to get the results I'm used to on my dna mods.

Are the Z and V1 your only Splinters? I'm still curious how the V2 compares specifically in terms of performance on dna-c mods. The obvious underlying question being what kind of 4/20 deal will it take for me to buy one.

I also have the Hcigar Vt75D And a splinter V2. I added franks theme and the splinter profile to it but Am getting mixed results. I mainly had it set and locked the ohms at 0.234 It worked amazingly well with potent vapor and amazing taste but occaionally i get no vapor at all and have to turn it way up and then that will get too hot at a later point when i come back to it during a different session and have to turn it back down to the original settings

I was told to unlock the ohms to fix this but that didnt really seem to help. Ive also resampled the ohms at cold and it said 0.289 and at that setting it acts so weird. When i press the button at that ohm setting the watts never adjust to the temperature when i press the power button it just stays at the max setting and basically is power mode and this doesnt change unless i drop the ohms to about 0.24 or less

Ok couple of things would like you to check is did the correct material file load in with profiles. If all material slot are full it won't load the correct material file for device. Under coil material what is the name of material listed there?

Also .289 seems high for a splinter should be closer to .234 if too high will drop outa tc mode.

In escribe under mod tab there electrical tab what is mod resistance set too?

My material file name is Splinter

Edit: Apologies .. I mistakenly wish this response was meant for me.

I figured that. I manually put it back down to about 0.234 which seemed to work the best. On escribe under materials on device it says splinter and for on the profile on escribe under coil it says splinter.

In escribe i changed the mod setting to advance but i only see a safety and battery tab. Under safety it says ohm lock range +- 25%

Changed to manufaturer and i see it says the mod resistance is 0.004

According to the video review the mod resistance is .009 Talks about it around 13:41 into the video.

Ok sounds like you have the right profile material. That material file does runs on the warm side I had to boost it since my splinter was earlier version let me know how it runs. Might want also try one the these if it's too warm. SplinterZ19:22stem.ecigprofile ......... 19:19 stem.ecigprofile.

@YaMon the mod resistance listed above is good place to start with Mod. The advice above should help with you issues too.

This explains a bit more on cold ohms resistance setting.

And is there a simple explanation of how to use and set profiles and themes. Don’t even know if those are the same thing or not. There must be some explanation somewhere for those of us who are not techy. When I figure it out I’d like to try some Of the ones that you are happy with here.

@YaMon, Can you compare/contrast the differences between the Custom Splinter Z and The V1 Z from China?

Is there a significant difference? How do you like the HCigar vt75D?

To anyone who has a DNA color 75 and 250: Are the interfaces similar? exactly the same?

It seems like the HCigar vT75D is a popular mod. Is anyone unhappy with it?

For @little maggie I would suggest that you set up an appointment with one of our Mod experts to Direct message back and forth and set your mod up that way.

Hoe do you guys feel with an Evic VTC Dual for something like a Stempod or Imp? Worthy box mod for these atomizers?

I’ll be posting a comparison in the Splinter Z thread.

As for the VT75D mod, I am still experimenting with it. Complaint 1) I find it difficult to find the correct orientation of the device in my hand when picking it up blind(without looking), but I suspect that will come with use. 2) Batteries are orientated in the chassis positive terminal up, toward your face. As this mod has a metal body and a solid battery door I do not know how significant the risk is of having battery facing you. In fact I do not know if there is any benefit/study that finds that having positive terminal away from your face when a battery fails is better. I take really good care of my batteries, so I am not sure how concerned I should be.
My usage is not daily right now as I have another mod and a lot of other vapes calling my name.

The screens are nearly the same on my VT75D and my Paranormal DNA250C. Both work well with Herbie's profiles and Frank's theme. The hcigar doesn't do replay and the Paranormal has a ten second timeout that can't be overridden just editing from the mod.

I prefer the ergos and lighter weight of the VT75D. The Paranormal is heavier and more awkward in the hand. The fire button isn't as convenient for my large hands. It does feel better made and only one cell points up.

I'm very happy with the VT75D overall and I like my current config with the larger Splinter Z on the lighter hcigar and the little V1 on the Paranormal.

Changed the mod resistance to 0.009. The SplinterDnac ecigprofile is now running too hot for me i turned the temp down to 325 but immidately got a hot spot. The splinter 19/19 profile is running to cool im up at 420 and getting whispy vapor. have the ohms set at 0.234 at 70 degrees both locked and unlocked hasnt really changed anything

I am using a V2 splinter not sure if that is the issue?

WHaaaaaaaaaaaat? Is this for true? Or is it a Escribe Settings / Theme limitation issue that can be resolved?
It's my understanding that the DNA75C chip doesn't do replay and the 250C does. There's some folks talking about replay and boost with a 75C in the Splinter Z thread so maybe I just haven't seen it yet in my profiles or settings.

Off topic I guess, but I've never used an iPad or iPhone, I just go to the website on my Pixel to upload, then paste the proper code here just like we used to do imgur

@deadlytoast, to add to what sickmanfraud listed there's also sur_myevic mod & Arctic Fox firmware.

@Summer, I may be totally off base, but I am under the impression that the majority of sur_myevic users are folks would have preferred the Tubo software but their mods were not compatible with @funkyjunky's software.

I figured that if @deadlytoaster wanted to use Tubo software he would be better off with a compatible mod from the beginning.

Great suggestion. Who are They

I would have to say that @HerbieVonVapster would be the logical choice, but there are others, @bossman comes to the top of my mind too. Find someone who has the same mod and it will be easier for all.

You're not off base, but not because the mods they had were not compatible in most cases, but rather that the mods the they preferred weren't. Most of tubo comp. mods are only 1 battery & many wanted 2 or 3 battery mods, hence, Wismec & myevic.

(also mainly form factor, for me at least)

Wish I could get Tubo firmware on my RXG3D, but had to settle for surmyevic. Still haven't tried configuring any temp control, just wattage, mostly 42-45w through water with my Z, but sometimes starting at 33-38w dry instead. Using autofire at 25sec and pretty much always stop it earlier than that, nice to not have to hold button down during hits, especially through water. My resistance is locked around .389 I believe, not sure what that will mean for any TC endeavors

To use replay on the DNA75c you need to use the international version of escribe. Here is links and guild.

Sorry was hoping that woulda got you up and running. Is there anyway you can send a copy of you settings? Other suggestion are try running case thermal analyzer... that shouldn't make this much difference but couldn't hurt..
When using the 19/19 stem if you increase temperature can you get a quality hit? I suggest also doing a couple hits well hooked up to device monitor. It tell you info on whats happening with wattage used etc. There some other user of this mod and I'm sure we'll figure this out.

Been working on cleaning up FCSHARE info. Right now kinda mess instruction wise. The DJLSB video gives a good overview

I haven't used the sinuous p80 much since returned from trip. Wish had time to do more with the sur_myevic software. With weather improving time to dust it off

Lost Vape Triade from Chinese seller for $111 shipped with coupon code.

I put a WTB in the Classifieds subforum for a Mirage yesterday so I'm gonna stick to the game plan since I don't need the battery life.

Still a nice fit for the Splinter Z or V2 if anybody is looking for a triple 18650 DNA250C. They even have the non-ugly black on black colorway.
