I love my Vapcaps and the wonderful respected after market artists that make my Vapcaps unique. All of my experiences within the Dynaverse have been an absolute delight, except for my most recent experience, with the Simrell Collection.

My initial post about a three piece Simrell set I purchased last September was very positive. Unfortunately I now feel that that review is misleading.

I loved the stem, case and stash that I recieved, but after a short time my case and stash looked like this.

Each picture represents a different crack. One of the magnets fell out. The case lid became very loose while the stash lid became too tight to remove with my bare hands.

In November, Simrell promised to replace the stash and case. First he admitted that he used a flawed process, then later claimed that he's never had pieces crack before. Every few weeks I was told that he was busy with the holiday orders. This continued throughout December, January and February. It was always the excuse of being otherwise busy with a backlog and that he'll get to me. He'll get to me...

I asked him to make me another stem along with my replacement pieces and to ship them to me together.

I learned that he had been accepting and fulfilling orders all along. No backlog. Just giving me lip service. People had placed orders which were being made and shipped out in a few days. Then some pressure was applied and he finally sprang into action, claiming to grant me the favour of placing me at the top of the list....After waiting almost three months! He said he would step up his game and make me a wonderful set and that he was throwing the stem in for free.

When the parcel arrived, I was faced with more disappointment. The stash and case were made with a more simple design compared to the original. The finish, not as fine. The case was bigger while the stem is shorter and the stem didn't match my request as it was made in a different style and didn't have an integrated condenser, a detail which he confirmed it would have before he sent them and it had an air port which I did not want. Based on what I recieved, I would guess that I was sent some rejects that were laying around his workshop. Very disappointing.

I wish I had just requested a refund or better yet not purchased anything from him in the first place. His pieces are very expensive but don't carry the quality or consistency of any of the other after market artists. I feel that he is inexperienced with his craft and that it will be some time before he can offer the consistently high quality products and execute the great customer service that we have all come to expect in the Dynaverse. Very sad.

I love it when you buy something and it turns out better than expected and you get that tickle of joy in your belly and you congratulate yourself for your clever purchase. That's how I felt when I purchased my Vacaps and when I bought my @phattpiggie and @stardustsailor stems and @Pipes IH. The Simrell experience was at the very other end of the customer service satisfaction spectrum.
@VapCap

@Chainfish it reminds me of an individual who plays the same games.
Doesn't honour their commitments but seems perfectly able to send out to people they feel will influence their sales.

@Daprezz there is no reason to call it 'hating' its essential feedback which everyone should appreciate.

The VC community needs to know about this kind of behaviour so people can make informed choices on whom they want to spend their hard earned money with.

I don't know about the community but I would like to know who you're talking about. After all, this is a 'review' forum. It seems all the praise is screaming loud but any words of bad service or products are hush hush. Doesn't sound like a 'review' forum to me.

It's not a big secret. He's talking about @Squiby's post on the last page to be clear. Nothing hush hush going on here.

Looky look @Slickwilly it's so neat seeing this piece again, was fun to turn. Koa is a beautiful piece highly prized in Hawaii for so many wonderful projects. I am sure I had been sitting on the piece for several years. Not sure if ya know I have a bad bad problem. Hello my name is Ed, I am a wood haorder.... lol I had gotten an opportunity to grab a bundle of those highly curled blanks so snatched up immediately. It was a pleasure working for you and be happy to anytime ya like. @Squiby is good people bro and she has always been a support and encouragement to me. I feel very blessed to have her on my side. If she'd only let me get a WS in her hands I'd do her a big solid and be honored to do so. CS next to the love for what I do is the 2 utmost priorities in my biz and has made me what I am today. I only treat others like I'd want for me and mine and go far beyond the sale to ensure happy customers cause in the end money is good buts it's you alls enthusiasm and kind words that thrills me most, thank you. I got you @Squiby bet that!

@muunch thanks so much for the purchase, I'll be eager to see and hear what you think of my work as well. Just a heads up I am headed off to the airport in about an hour for Spain, all orders will be delayed shipping til middle of next week. I am a one man band and have been for many many years, no one takes priority over another here. I am open and honest and can always be reached here there everywhere may just take me a day or two to reply but always do. Pls understand and spread the word for me if need be. I couldnt have been doing this for over 12 years by doing any other way. @Rick for MZ used to say "ya get what ya give" so I better give it my best. Dearest @Squiby I am appalled that there’s no Woodscents in your castle! For the @stark1 proclaimed (and widely acknowledged) Queen to not have this integral piece of the Dynaverse is a travesty! 2019 is the year to fix this, you’re so worth it! I can confidently say that you’ll be wondering why you waited so long.

Sounds like Ed is wanting to treat you as well! He definitely did me a solid and I wasn’t expecting it.

The rest of this rambling opinion piece isn’t for Squiby because she already knows, but for anyone who doesn’t know:

I will testify on behalf of Brother Ed! The WS is an exquisite device that is more than just a vaporizer, in the same way that a stem from @phattpiggie is more than a vaporizer stem. Doing a custom WS with Ed was an amazing experience and the entire process was made a joy by the man behind the bottle cap. Ed aims to please and boy, does he hit the mark*! Honest communication throughout with a positively infectious enthusiasm and kind patience as I attempted (poorly) to explain what I was after.

The Woodscents has me using and appreciating all of my vapcaps even more since it landed. Stunning on its own, a WS makes every VC look good ime; somehow they just look natural together and it showcases both wooden and titanium stems beautifully. I honestly wasn’t expecting this “feature”. Another of my favourite features about my WS is the self-limiting function: when I realise that I’ve just been staring at & admiring its grain for five minutes or longer, I can be reasonably certain that I’ve had enough. :haw:

* I didn’t use “ime” or “imo” because this is a fact. I can’t think of any unsatisfied or unhappy customers in his whole thread, and he’s been working in the community long before the WS came into being. Unexpected things are going to happen in our imperfect world but it’s all about the response. There’s a reason that Ed’s CS and business integrity are legendary.

Jeez bro, reading this really hit me and am very grateful for such positive words. Cant say how thankful and appreciative I am. Any time I can do anything for you or anyone else I am always here for you all.

Gotta say I am really encouraged by the popularity of the DV MS I began making again. It was a blast doing these for George back in the day, a little tougher back then due to the thinness of the walls. I didnt do the crowns back then so I had to step up the thickness this go at it to compensate for not having those. These pieces I have been doing with the sap wood contrast have been a joy to turn. I believe its the sapwood meeting the heartwood that gives these pieces the beautiful multi colored pieces you may have seen. If not get over to my IG feed and look at the gems I have been doing lately. Been looking at the Vongs I did back then too and think I may try to do some of those soon as well. Would anyone be interest in those coming back again also?

Am hanging out at the terminal for a while before off to Miami for a couple hour lay over then off to Spain it is woot woot what a great time ahead!!!

@Ed's TnT

funnily enough, I went to check back on vgoodiez a few hours after my first order... yknow.... maybe there was another stem I wanted :D

But,
Lo and behold, apparently my post here inspired some other people... because all those $30 stems were gone when I checked back - glad I got one when I did.

Hope you enjoy Spain/Spannabis - make sure to keep @phattpiggie and @duff in line

I have a Blackwood body, a Cocobolo stem and the most beautiful Black and White Ebony stem and two VonGs, a Blackwood and a Burl. All were made by you over three years ago now. They are still beautiful and fully intact. Even those incredibly thin bodies and stems have held up over the years. You are clearly an expert wood artist. Although I do love the straight bodies, your first generation VonGs are especially treasured.

Here they are, my oldest VapCap midsections. Left to right; 14mm Burl Vong body with Burl mp. Black and White Ebony stem with spinning ti mp. Blackwood body with Burl mp. Cocobolo stem and mp. 14mm Blackwood VonG with silver mp.

Have a fantastic trip Ed! We all look forward to hearing all about it!!

Well, gosh darn it, I really love the look and features of the 2019 M. Most specifically I like the ridging around the carb hole to make it easier to find. I’m going to end up with a whole collection of Dynavaps, I can already tell.

Was already planning on getting one, but I'm pretty excited now - I bet the airflow is phenomenal on these. Pretty big improvements this year compared to 17 -> 18

Seeking My Shangri-La
Greetings Folks,

I'll be joining the 'Dynaverse' in a few weeks time and had a couple of questions for you seasoned Omni XL users:

  1. Do you find that using an SS tip instead of the titanium one helps retain heat better?
  2. Would the flower get cooked to a deeper brown using the SS tip over the titanium one?
  3. Also, and this may be the wrong thread, but do you find one particular induction heater is able to reach higher temperatures than others (i.e. Portside Mini vs Fluxer Deluxe vs Lucid)?

I am a high temp vaporist; cooler vapor is not that important to me. I realize that ABV color does not necessarily indicate how well the goodies have been extracted but I like to see my ABV dark brown after my sessions. I guess I'm looking for the best combo (Vapcap tip selection, IH choice, etc.) to get thick, high temperature hits.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Yep, me too. Saw the video on my phone and I have to say, think I'm going to want one. I like the new features and it looks great!

I agree! The body looks a lot more tactile. I hope they put the new body in the Dynabuilder tomorrow, I’d love to get an XL version with a spinning tip since I already have a standard size M.

Oh shit - it releases tomorrow? I thought it was just pre-orders... Man, being sick has really fucked me up lol... I ordered some accessories like 2 days ago, I would have held off if I knew the Ms came out Friday. Whoops :whoa:
