Hey guys!So here is the thing with my new xvape fog. I bought it from Vaposhop and it was delivered few days ago.I charged it for 5-6 hours per the instructions from xvape, and then went on to try it for the first time. I filled, let it heat up and tried 2 rips. Then it shut down by its own. I tried again and it happened again. It shuts down after 2 minutes of usage. I tried it with every 5 of the preseted temperatures and it happened everytime. Im not sure whats the problem. One last thing is that i tried to turn it on while charging and it didnt at all. Has anyone before faced similar problems? I ve already sent an email to Vaposhop to inform them 2 days ago and im still waiting for an answer..

Hiya, it does auto shut-off about 4 minutes after being turned on.

@alekokokoko Maybe try contacting them via the forum or on in their thread ? Anyway what kind of battery are you using ? Do you have another one to check if it is not battery related. Maybe a bad battery or not powerful enough would cause this. What you describing was a common issue with the Xmax v2 due to the bad contact, maybe you can try wiping the contacts with an alcohol wipe.. Another things that comes to mind is to check if the locking mechanizm of the battery door is doing a good job.

Actually the battery door locks, but its a little bit loose. If the problem was the contacts it would not even turn-on, right? I use the battery that comes with the fog. I will try with a different battery though. To me seems like an electronic problem, cause it happens every time after 2 minutes. But what about the fact that i cant use it while charging? thats strange. I am a little bit dissapointed cause was looking for a outdoor vape and fog seemed like a good choice. Actually i think it is (from what i experienced for 2 minutes :p )

@alekokokoko If the door is looks contact may break contact or arc and trigger off protection as you are handling it. Try doing a session while holding tight the battery door. Or try shaking your unit while it is switched on to see if it is going to turn off from it.
If it shutoffs at exact same time everytime and not just randomly during operation.. than there is definetly some bug into the electronics.

Nope, it's 4 minutes regardless of activity dude. You have to keep an eye on the lights turning off!

wow really?ok, i 've got more questions:p What about the lights blinkin. So far from reviews that i have read, i know that they are blinking while it's heating up. Do the lights get solid when the temperature has been reached? And one more that you didnt answer before. Does yours work while is being charged?

Mine cannot be used while charged. It blinks regardless of if temp is reached or not.
Thanks for the tips! :) Are 4 minutes enough time for you to finish the session? I cant check my fog for the next 4 hours and i'm curious

There's two different blinking patterns: 3 short blinks when it starts heating and when it shuts off, and a slower on/off while it's operating.

You can just restart it when it shuts off. I have done this up to three times and it got really uncomfortably hot, but it worked. I finish a bowl in 4 minutes though, usually.

Yes, make sure the 18650 you use has a decent max. continuous discharge current.
I'd had somehow been using a Samsung 26J @5.2A which struggled to produce visible vapour. I swapped it for a Sony VTC5A @25A which produced lots of visible vapour and was much less hard work (and quicker) to finish the bowl. :)

OK I understand the 18650 concern. If the Sonys worry you (I'm OK with them as are many on FC) then there are other options e.g. LG HG2 @20A.
What battery did your Fog come with in the box?

Suggested the Fog to a friend and he got it... We have been trying it for a few days.

Plus:
Very strong vapor
Amazing extraction
Good body built quality
Very small size
Changeable 18650

Cons:
Awful taste from the metal oven and the rubber mouthpiece part.
Closed airflow. Could be a lot more open with that power.

Can't get through the taste. They need to change some materials used in this great little vape. If they do it could be a great vape. This monster can one hit a 0.05 load at third heating position like no other. :ko:

I want to say that @VapoShop sent me a replacement mouthpiece (thank you!) ,so I got back trying my device.

I mostly wanted it as a vape to take with me while fishing.I can t use butane vapes when its windy(most times) ,I am afraid to damage/lose my mighty and the fury has a small battery,so I wanted something mostly convention with replaceable batts.

The robot fart goes away after some bowls. It s taste is pretty good compared to full conduction vapes I 've tried.Could be a little more open airflow.I would also like more power.I can totally extract with fury 2 in about 2 mins at 221 C ,cannot be done with this one at 220 C (at least I wasn't able to do it).Clouds are very good.

I think it serves the purpose I got it for.Very good choice at 70-80 euro.

@Zak McKracken Did you tried the 14mm mod ,posted back in the thread? You basicly put a screen on top of the load and stick the gong in the hole over the herb while the lid os open,it works great with waterpipes and improves on airflow.

Hi all,

I’ve read online that this vape has fantastic airflow, but looking at the last few comments this doesn’t seem to be the case? Mine seems very restricted. I’m not being a moron and missing a draw resistance control am i?

Nope. It is very restriced almost as the Vapcap. No control either.
I gifted mine to a friend because of that and because it started to have combustion smell on heatup, and there isnt a way to clean under the bowl,so it is pretty much doomed to have spoled taste after some use... It is a promising design having in mind it is not plastic and it has replaceable battery ,but they have to figure that shit mentioned above in the next version. Also temps over 2nd level seem all too high for herb usage, maybe they need to rethink those too.

Yeap @Abysmal Vapor is right, the airflow is restricted. He is also right for the difficulty of cleaning it. For me these two are the main drawbacks for the Fog, but its not my main device so i can ignore that for now. So overall, it's a nice device for this budget but a lot of things can be improved.
