Best 'bong-like' vaporizer?

FP is king but depends if your happy with cost, it being hot and no one ever talks about how stationary an enail setup is compared to a analogue bong. I think its overlooked that not all people like to sit in a corner or at a desk all eve.

Depends on how you used to smoke, we used the Herb Iron towards the end of my combustion career, so I find the Flowerpot very similar to a traditional bong hit.

Cordless would be nice, but I've never used a cordless that can milk like the vid I posted above. Plus cordless opens up the world to batteries or torches which tends to get finicky.

I have to note that the Flowerpot is very affordable, one of the cheapest on the market considering what you get, comparatively. It honestly doesn't cost much more than an Omnivap.

Have you considered a log vape? They may not sound like a heavy hitter but they can easily keep up with the big dogs.

Sounds like it fits your criteria quite well. They can be left on for 24-7 (I have mine on a timer that is also controlled by a smartphone app), and you can load enough in one stem to effectively last only one or two hits.

I do not recommend the EVO in your situation. Takes 10 minutes to heat up, shuts down after an hour(?) of use, and those ELB take quite a bit of material to be used effectively.

Never heard that about the EVO baskets. If anything, I feel they work best half filled or less. If you pack too tightly you lose that airflow to get a nice even extraction.

I have one set of plates left :) ... I have materials to make 2-3 more sets that I may make at some point if demand is there.

@cloudclout You heard the good news here. I’ll just leave this video here for people to sit back in awe. If you just want to see the tips through a bubbler they are at 3:30 and 8:30. These are also pretty low temp hits creating all that fog. The first rip is at 180c and the second where Jcat uses Rosin is at 200c. So all those tasty clouds are produced nice and dense under 400f.

Full disclosure, with my setup at home I will still hit flower as high as 445 with this beast. I’m still away from home finishing my grad school in Texas otherwise I would record you a video running through my FC-UFO, it is incredibly impressive.

I don’t run mine with stems as often, I’ve found that the SV3 also works great when seated on top of an 18f/18m adapter with a screen. You still get dense huge clouds and you can watch the herb cook in the bowl.

When I purchased mine Jcat also modded a coil with a temp sensing coil as well I think. It allows me to use my SV3 without the little thermometer that comes with the SV3. I was finding that there was very little or no deviation between the two temp probes.

You would do very well with an Evo, a log (a woodscent uses vapcaps and comes with a vapcap to boot, so you get both a desktop and a portable), a Splinter-z, and many other vapes. But in my mind this is absolutely the closest to what you’re after.

@stickstones also owns the modded SV3 I think, I’d love to see him join us here, as he is one hell of a resource here.

@Roth ... I think it depends on one's habits ... I'm assuming @Tweak likes small amounts ... I find with EVO baskets half full (which is max), I'll do 2-3 back-to-back bowls, as that's what my tolerance is as when consuming flower (instead of rosin), I go through 2-3g a day; so log vapes were never functional for me ... spent WAY too much time loading, loading, re-loading, loading some more, ... etc. Like everything it depends on one's needs. With my EVO I run it on a WeMo so I fire it up 5-10 minutes before going out to the shop. The shut-off time is a non-issue for me ... if I'm sitting there I see it flashing, and if I'm not, I'm glad that it turns off and I can easily turn back on with my phone in advance of needing it.

EVO and FP are both kick-ass for me, log vapes never quite cut it ... maybe I just never tried the right one; I've also never tried a dynavap, because although I'm sure I would love the quality, the small bowl size is a huge turn-off for me. I like to be able to get at least .15 in there, and more is good!

Edit: I also love my electric modded SV3 :)

Maybe I misread, but I thought Tweak was saying the EVO basket needed to be filled relatively full to be used effectively. Definitely disagree with that.

Like you said, filling it up halfway is what I'd consider the max recommended fill. However, it will vape a small amount (just enough to cover the bottom of the basket) with ease.

The electric Supreme does look really cool, would love to try one someday and see how it compares to the FP and EVO.

A dynavap is great if you need an off the grid/portable vape, but it can't compete with the top tier vapes you have. But if you need a reliable vape for a backpacking trip, there's no better choice!

Almost there...
@cloudclout

I use the SV4 as my daily driver.
I love huge, instant hits! I love lots of vapor! I love lots of flavor!
I also love consistency from hit to hit, day to day etc...
My SV4 and EVO provide this, with the SV4 I know the temp and keep it there all the time. With the EVO, once I found my temp, I never touch the dial. Both ways work.

My vote would be to get an SV4 and buy your own coil and controller.
This vape is a heavy hitter once you get used to it. Does micro doses very well.

I will leave this little vid here:

I’ve got an Evo and it definitely does what you’re looking for, but I must admit I’ve put a few different configurations of the flowerpot in a shopping cart a few times recently because of very much specifically being interested in taking those big hits. Evo does those hits and depending on your tolerance can definitely fit that one and done hit and you can take quite large hits. Personally, I’ll be reading the flowerpot thread before too long and doing some budget math as well. This isn’t to say I don’t love the Evo, I absolutely do, I just have my eyes on the FP too :)

I vote the New Vape FlowerPot ShowerHead with a glass bowl! I have a few of the bong type vapes in the Flowerpot, the EVO and the Herborizer Ti, but I can't stop using the FlowerPot. I reach for the FlowerPot every day without fail, even if I plan to not use it I normally cave in and get it out late!

Once you dial it in I think it is amazing! It has a "heavier" effect than the EVO IMO which is still an amazing vape.

I do prefer the EVO for Sunday afternoon type sessions though, as its a good vape to not be in a rush with, but as I vape more at evening/night I prefer the "heavier" feeling of the Flowerpot. I find if I vape with the FlowerPot/Herborizer Ti too early I will be likely to fall asleep and "wreck" the day.

The SV4, LSV and Glass Symphony all look interesting as well, definitely check them out!

Cloud EVO:
+designed for usage with waterpieces
+all glass air path and heater outside of it (probably the best possible taste if you are true connosieur)
+high quality and powerful heat (no stirring needed, consistent temperature, doesn't cool down when you hit it, )
-Fragile, expensive to buy, expensive to repair, expensive glass attachments.
-takes a long time to heat up and turns itself off after an hour or so. Not recommended to leave it running 24/7 (so it's not really like a bong in a sense that you can just take a quick hit whenever you like)

E-Nano:
+High quality build
+Beautiful wood
+Powerful for its size
+Great vape to take a hit whenever you like (quick to load, reload, can be run 24/7 so it's always ready)
+Very simple and easy to use
+Pretty much indestructible even if you tried.
+Amazingly efficient with small doses and microdoses.
-Heat is not as consistent as higher-tier desktops (needs stirring, cools down when you hit it too much back to back, hotter when you pull slowly)
-If you are a heavy user and need to vape like over 0.25g, it might struggle to satisfy you as it can hold about 0.1g at most.
-doesn't natively support concentrates (but you cvould McGyver something, like cut a tiny steel mesh concentrate pad that woudl fit in the bowl)

Flowerpot - I don't have this one, so don't expect so many details:
-Powerful and great with concentrates
-Exposed hot parts - risk of accidentaly burning yourself or something else.

This is what's holding me back from trying the FP. Was so glad to get rid of my EQ because of the cyclone bowl was such a hazard. I'd imagine the FP could be even worse as it's what you move around the most.

How big of an issue is this?

I know when I first started vaping, all the moving parts can become overwhelming and stuff can get knocked over/broken when over-medicated. Is the FP noob friendly?

The debowler on the NV Safety Stand is a little close to where one might park a hot Weedeater/ShowerHead/VRod, at least for my comfort level. NV recently released the Tool Shed which places the debowler and posts for the heads on opposite sides from one another, so that is appealing to me. I am just awaiting some more refinement of the tool shed before I pull the trigger.

That aside, I have yet to (Touch wood) drop the FlowerPot or burn anything other than Flower with it. The worst that has happened was when pulling the head off the bowl they got stuck together briefly and the bowl ended up falling to the ground, but I still had the handle for the ShowerHead in my hand. Really a non-issue. I enjoy the ritual and even more the effects.

It’s never been an issue for me either. The handle is far enough away from the head that I don’t feel the heat or any concern about burning myself. If I was really prone to dropping things with good handles like that, *then* I would worry a bit.

The worst problem I’ve seen was a young guy who gave himself serious burns by grabbing the head itself, but if you’re careful until you get familiar with it and automatically reach for the handle, I don’t see that being a problem.

If you can cook or be around candles and other small heat sources, it shouldn’t be scary past the first few times you use it. I expected to really want a heat shield for it, and it would still be nice, but I haven’t bothered thinking much about it since shortly after I got it more than a year ago. :)

@YaMon They also just released a new stand just for the head which would be good for you, or you can just use something else for debowling. :)
