@little maggie / all fixed. That was just the GoDaddy software. Thank God I'm a better vape builder than web designer.

My VAS is gone, and I can thank Evolv. I never really imagined it could work so well. Finding the perfect resistance (34 ohms) setting was the last bit of *work* I've done. Now, at just simple Watt Mode, I can say without hesitation, I'm enjoying the most potent yet smooth, simple yet sophisticated, technically advanced yet fun to use vape ever. The board is doing the work, turning our powerhouse coil into a superstar. I've not really tapped too much into TC, but Alan has mastered this feature. Replay is another awesome feature that has it's place. Preheat is something that just bumps power up to full wattage for a fraction of a second at the beginning of the hit. Not to mention the *punch* settings. Damn, the Elite is out and out fun.

As I was forming coils yesterday, I realized we need to acknowledge what started all this. The Lil' Bud and the Elite are so freaking powerful, effective, resilient, because of the ability of @Alan 's coil to deliver a large amount of uniform heat, as it sits perfectly housed in a stainless steel foil lined wooden oven. The DNA75 control board has met its match, allowing it to perfectly roast your flower, every hit, every time. This is something I'm very proud of.

Today I barely had any shop time, damn life gets in the way sometimes, and my to-do list was just too long. I managed to get some final stuff done (battery compartment floors / pick tools). I hope to get everything boxed up tomorrow.

I know we mentioned reliability, and part of that is the ability to be repaired. What's really nice is how the Elite, like the Classic, can be disassembled and any part changed, without too much fuss, this includes the board. That's a really nice advantage to have. I feel the Elite is probably overall a bit easier to disassemble, due to the bottom cap being completely removable. Nice design touch.

Just discovered Watt Boost Mode. Very cool, both figuratively and literally. Thanks to the Master Jedhi for tipping me off on this. It's basically the same as constant watts, with a bigger punch or boost. Again, great option. Can the Elite continue to get better?

I need another vape like I need a dozen more pitbulls. But I am curious about this one. I'm finding that I don't really like having to use a box mod even though I keep the adjustments minimal. Is the elite going to need altering settings in different areas like watts, power etc? I know a lot of people like being able to do that but I prefer just one setting that I can leave alone- other than temp.

Good morning peeps...
I have a routine doc appt this AM, but then it's in the shop, finalizing, packing up.

@ChooChooCharlie @little maggie
I can tell you that control of the Elite is very simple. Once a few setting are made, profile selected, it all about auto pilot. That's the whole point really. The two sides of the coin are controlling temp and power, but there are other factors that come into play - cold ohms, preheat, replay, are a few examples. Alan and I have both found that simple wattage mode can deliver very high level, yet mindless, control. Watt Boost, seems exceptionally well suited to a superior, automatic session. Others will love adjusting temp control, bringing all the nuances of the board into play, going as far as watching your hit in real time on your computer. Like I said, it's a lot of fun, but doesn't not make you dependent on technology to get high.

The Business Side
I'm always checking inventory, making sure I've got a relative *even* supply of everything. I realize I'm a little short on screen holders. I've got like a dozen as compared to 18 boards in stock. The pricing of the board keeps me from purchasing 100, but the screen holders were about $2. When I originally purchased, I wasn't 100% sure of how they'd work out, so I ordered only 20 or so. I go back to get more, and the price starts at $5 and goes up to $8, depending upon manufacturing speed. Sucks that I didn't order 100, but a good sign that the DNA75c is a big success. This is a very different process than keeping inventory for the Classic, where the most expensive part was the switch at $5. This involves more careful management of funds for sure. If I spend too much capitol in the wrong place, and wind up short in another department, it can obviously impact overall production. So I spend hours looking for the best prices for everything (parts and supplies), to keep Elite pricing under control, and sell as many Elites as possible.

@little maggie - after herbie gets his elite, expect a profile. @HerbieVonVapster has skills -- a medical user with ability and drive. Remarkable determination and deliverables for us, thanks Herbie! And, of course, thanks to @Bravesst for his creation ! Thanks all around

Thank you for the kind comments helping others on here has helped me thru a very rough time so the thanks goes both ways. It makes me happy to help people enjoy there new devices and share in that. Excited about the elite happy to see Mike and Alan bring this one to life. Glad to do whatever I can to help.

I love the DNAc chip it offers ease of use and thru escribe your able to load custom settings. With 8 different profiles to work with you can heave many different modes of preset usage already programmed and ready for users to experience. It can be update as better setting and ways of use are discovered with the elite.

@Bravesst do you send out Elites pre-programmed to your specs? Or do you ship them out however DNA has them set up? Asking for a friend.

Not sure what Mike is including with the first batch of elite as programming.

I have discussed with Mike and am working on a FCSHARE file for the elite. I should have a working copy out once tested. In it been thinking of going with a temperature control profile, a wattage profile with a high temperature cutoff and replay profile. That leaves 5 profiles for users to do custom settings or have room to grow. Thoughts?

Instead of just the profiles doing a complete escribe file for the elite. I'm hoping this be an elite community project. With Mike support and other elite user help and feedback I feel we can get the best experience possible from the DNA software.

Having this custom software allows all the settings tweaks in escribe for this device too be installed and ready for user. I feel it's also best to have a few safety feature included in it. More advance user can install different themes or tweak to there heart content.

I need another vape like I need a dozen more pitbulls. But I am curious about this one. I'm finding that I don't really like having to use a box mod even though I keep the adjustments minimal. @little maggie in temperature control mode it just setting the temperature you like and hitting the fire button.

Hey All,

RE: pre-programming the DNA75c chip
From the somewhat limited experience I've had programming, it's pretty simple. It includes 8 profiles that can be preset on either your computer or unit itself. Certain basic setting will carry over from profile to profile (ohms). For batch one, I'll set a few appropriate profiles to what I feel is middle of the road settings, with a recommendation starting in Watts Mode (simple adjustment of power). The unit comes with US firmware from Evolv. I like to download the International firmware. I also need to flip the screen. The current profiles are named after the coil material. Ours, by default would be SS316.

I've been exploring all the things you can do with this, but I'm not gonna get it all figured out by batch one. It's quite time consuming to adjust settings, than figure out if it's an improvement (it works really well many ways). It'll be set up to run right out of the box, but there will plenty of tweaking you can do on your own, very easily I might add.

For those who like to do the least (me), I think WATT BOOST will serve you best. It'll set it up at 34 ohms and 27 watts. With a simple one hand button press, I can bump watts (by .5) as the ABV darkens. It's almost like stirring with watts. I do perform on final stir to get every last drop. The boost simply gives the hit a little extra oomph, in addition to the preheat. This all happens automatically. You just press the button and inhale.

Alan has done some crazy stuff with temp control and making adjustments based on aligning the numbers. I'm sure there will be many ways people figure out to roast their herb. But I agree with loving simplicity.

I'm glad to see Mike's taking the time to learn the escribe software. The more people that understand it and especially the device manufacturer will make this a better product.

I suggest not locking OHM in DNAc in TC mode. As the coils heat the resistance moves. Each wire material used has a specific curve while heating. DNA's have a "refinement" function that fine tunes the resistance reading as the device rests for a more accurate temperature . Locking the ohm's may be beneficial for finiky atty's but as a matter of choice should not be used in normal operation.

Alright dammit. I'm going to start saving for one. I answered every single damn question yes. And if you'd asked me that a couple of months ago I'd have said nope, not for me. But I've been paying attention.

At least the only vape that gives me VAS is the LB. I was thinking of getting another LB, but why not have one of each?

If anyone is interested in helping me save up here's a link to my new album. http://store.cdbaby.com/cd/kenbonfield17 :sherlock:

This is a big day for Vapwood.

I worked my ass off to make this happen, but the first 8 have set sail. All units are preloaded with 8 profiles, 4 watt, 4 TC. All units shipped bare bones, except one (who contacted me prior). If anybody in batch one does needs batts or tubes, lemme know, and we'll work it out. I believe no one was charged shipping. These were the actual first 8 orders, I believe all sold as prototypes. I'm going to be super strict with your place in line.

I managed to get a handle on some basic programming. I created basic appropriate profiles in all 8 slots, 4 power mode, 4 tc mode. I personally prefer Watt Boost (kept the name). I uploaded the following:

Watt 1
Watt 2
Watt Boost
TC cool
TC 1
TC 2
TC 3
Replay (watts)

There are variables within each to get you started. Nothing is ever set in stone here. All TC modes are set to SS 316 as the coil material. Ohms are set to .34. I'm sure this will all be tweaked, but I'm getting good sessions in all the Watts modes and have had good results in the TC modes as well, but with a bit more fussing around. Maybe that's just the inexperience. I even managed to upload my logo and add a bit of color (battery level green) as well. I'm looking forward to reviews.

7 domestic, 1 to the UK (first buyer). I've got 15 more units working and plan to get them all out in March.

Note on reliability:
I must be confident in the reliability of the Elite, because I've shipped all but my DD.

Next, on to 2018 taxes, then a user manual, and another video.

Awesome news man.

Have you sent out / will be sending out tracking #'s?

Hoping it arrives before I depart for my adventure trip. Fingers crossed, I'll just :chill: until then.

Took 3 jabs to the arm today at the docs and for the first time in my life ever I passed out. Really weird sensation, I came round to 3x nurses looking very nervous. :ko: So your good news has balanced out the day

Thank you bud.

@mike Nice setup for profiles. You might want to consider also loading FJ's Cruise Mode. It great thru water pieces only firing when inhaling and no need to hold down button. This works great for sharing with friends. Congrats on the Elite.

I'm a bit slow about understanding these things- although I answered all yeses. You have several profiles installed. I'd like to know if I can just add a battery, push a button, and have it work without any adjustments including fooling around with profiles. Most of my vapes have a second button to increase or decrease temp which is ok but the reason I don't like box mods is that each one has to have a different set up depending on the vape. The exception is the tubo that came with very simple instructions for getting it to work but once set I leave it alone even when FJ makes new adjustments.

Good morning Elitists. Tracking numbers will got out today to the lucky 8. Right now I'm working on a comprehensive user manual that should help even the most technologically shy users, as well as provide tips for the techies.

I'm very relieved to have these units ship, and get the process of routine mass production started. Once sales begin, I'm going to stock up heavily on supplies, throwing my profit back into the business. I need to keep the process efficient if I'm ever going to meet demand.

The 8 profiles are just a beginning. Start with Watt Boost if you have any doubts. It's what I've been using (as well as @Alan) all week. The manual should be ready in a day or two!

I'd appreciate any suggestions on information that you feel you should be included in the Elite User Manual.

Looking forward to seeing a operational manual that gets folks up and vaping with the elite. Then expand on it depending on customers usage. I feel there's a larger amount of desire for a simple to use performance aspects of the elite over wanting to mess around with adjusting escribe software.

Having all the escribe setting adjustments etc are a awesome option. But feel it would be a bit of a undertaking and may scare off user looking for the simple to use aspects the elite offers. To produce a manual that's overly complicated or dives into all of escribe different setting and options isn't of use to the average user that just want's to press a button and vape.

Maybe more explaining the basic functions and how to adjust the on screen control and usage of elite. There are a lot of resources online for escribe for the few user that want to tweak there own settings.

Looking forward to trying the wattage boost setting. My other DNA devices usage is 100% temperature control. With having unregulated devices never felt desire to use wattage mode. I'm excited to see what type of experience it be with the elite.

Really stoked to see you and @Alan really dive into the benefits this chip offers. The reason there is FCSHARE to help members get there devices working with the DNA mods.

Since Mike and Alan are working on this it's kinda silly to have different version of software out there for the elite. It just cause confusion so instead of focusing on making a FCSHARE decided it's better to offer whatever feedback and support I can.

Tracking sent. The manual will not be a tutorial on escribe software. It will be a very basic guide to get your Elite operational. Those who want to take it further will find lots of info from Evolv, that I'll give links to.

I'm really loving DNA Boost in watt mode on my Splinter Z. It's a really simple method to give you even more controll in an easy way, just by releasing and pressing the button again. It needs a little experience, but I won't go without it any more :)

@Alex3oe I agree, not too complicated whatsoever, but a little familiarity goes a long way. It's my go to setting, starting at 27 watts. Depending how the load roasted, sometimes ending on 30, or 31, with a single stir. Boost mode seems to be just Watts with punch set at 8 instead of 3 to 5. Punch, I believe, it just some little pushes during the hit. All of this does the same thing in the end, gives you thick, smooth, cool vapor that punches you right in the face, but tastes heavenly, like only on demand convection through an 18 mm tube can.

I will probably include a printed out quick start guide with each unit, and then post the more comprehensive manual online, but the comprehensive manual still won't be about mastering the software. Escribe has already written volumes on this.

EDIT:
I'm doing some work on the guide and it's a no-brainer. I've been using my unit for a few weeks and can write all about it. I'm also going to include a quick herb prep guide, and cleaning and maintenance. The key to keeping it simple is not to dive into the software instructions too deeply. That will be the collective effort of all the Elitists out there sharing their experiences. There are so many variables here, I see infinite possibilities. I'm pretty sure that's unique in a dry herb portable.

Good morning, I've already been working on the computer for 2 hours, editing the manual. I need to upload some pictures to include. It's short and sweet for now, just what I'm hearing a call for. So for you guys getting your Elites tomorrow, I've uploaded my draft to onedrive. I'm not sure this will work, but to give early access I'm trying it out. Be kind, it's a first draft.

Hello bud, the link isn't working for me.

A couple of suggestions instead of using a document from OneDrive:
  • Use FC's resources section, you can edit and make changes any time and users can offer feedback via the comments section.
  • Create a page for instructions on Vapwood. That would be totally under your control and would follow your branding.
  • Create a Wikipedia page. This would allow you to offer the community the ability to update and maintain the manual with you.
