As long as it's 20mm it should fit ShowerHead as it's not machined like the VRod. What are you going to screw the post into?

I bought a heavy 5" X 10" x 1" thick maple cutting board. I am going to attach the e-nail controller and post to the board, and maybe add some holes for accessories and a rope cleat for winding up the coil cable to make a little station out of it. I'll post some pictures when I get it set up.

@NewVape710 wouls you ever consider an FP head that was dedicated strictly to flower?

...would that not just be the showerhead??? i know it has a channel on top for dabbing, but its ti and most people do not dab of ti anymore...

...i've only ever used my showerhead for herb, i prefer dabbing with a quarts banger...

...i hope @NewVape710 never discontinues the showerhead in its current form :2c:

@MAbud I've read the suggestion before about a flower only showerhead. I'm not sure what you're envisioning. If i remove the grove around the holes it would still need the flange to sandwich the coil.

Please try and expand on your suggestion for a flower only flowerpot if you can.

I was considering dusting off the old 16mm coil and trying a smaller version of the current designs.

@just_the_flu the showerhead will remain untouched thank you for your comment.

@emmdeemo the brush can be added to everyone's existing stand.

the duff can will be available separate. the spike can be changed where the brush is. The brush is stainless steel.

Team FC Flowerpot wanted a lift out avb container with a lid and brush. I hope you all like what we came up with..

The price will follow in a couple of days.

Additionally we have need a more basic safety stand.

This one is 3" dia and will be $30 with the ti post.

@NewVape710 Looks great! The stand is definitely more appealing to me now - as someone who has the existing stand.

A few quick questions though:

1. Does the brush work well by itself even when the bowl is cold? My thought about a brush surrounding the debowler was to ensure that anything really stuck in there would come out, but if you found the right brush that may not be necessary.

I was also worried that AVB might get stuck in the brush too much. Is that a major issue?

2. How well does that lid keep the AVB smell down?

The suggestion I made only included a small ring for AVB to fall through, potentially even sealable, and the wide open holes on top make me worry it may not be as effective as it could be at keeping the smell down.

Is it at least a big reduction?

If not, here’s one way to make this design sealable and maybe reduce the smell overall:

Put a small cone under or around the debowler or brush and either only leave a small gap above the lid or thread it along with a ring or the body of the debowler or brush itself so it could be lowered to seal tightly when not in use and raised to allow AVB through.

A simple flat cover that just fits around the debowler or brush and sits over the holes would probably work too. I could even do that myself if I had to.

If the smell isn’t significant the way it is though, it may not be worth the extra effort. :)

3. I see the loading tool at least leaning in the video. If those holes are different sizes like they are in the older stand, I’d prefer to have appropriately sized dabbed caps to get them standing straight and make them easier to grab.

Otherwise, can you explain why the holes are different sizes so it doesn’t just seem weird and a little annoying to me? ;)

I’m guessing you’re trying to accommodate other common tool sizes or maybe some of your tools that I don’t have, but personally I’d like to see it work as well as possible for your own tools if I’m not missing something important.

Maybe a couple of the bowl holders could go in favor of more different hole sizes while keeping several that fit your tools perfectly?

Anyway, thanks for keeping us in the loop and great job at continuing to improve all of this! :D

Damnit! I just got my unit today, and would have totally ordered that basic safety stand if it was available. In the meantime I just hammered a tnut into a piece of walnut I had sitting around and screwed it into that.

Quick review after about a 30 minute session.

Everything arrived quickly. I ordered both my NewVape Showerhead and my ebay e-nail kit and they arrived on the same day. The ebay e-nail fits the showerhead snugly, no issues with coil compatibility. The fit and finish of the NewVape Parts is downright impressive. I work in product design, and spend a lot of time with machinists and fabricators, and I can tell the love and care that goes into these. They're very fairly priced for what they are, considering the materials and labor, and you cannot say that for all vapes.

I first set the PID controller to 700, the coil did some off-gassing and made those nice "something's hot" smells. I washed all of the NewVape parts in iso and water first, just to be safe, and dried them with a towel. I dropped the 14mm male adapter into my matrix sidecar and connected the shovelhead bowl using the threaded handle. Everything felt snug and secure. After installing the screen it was time to test it. I loaded a pinch of medium ground Green Crack grown local by Tradecraft Farms, and dropped the showerhead on the bowl. The first pull was slow, without the carb cap, and produced a fairly dense and tasty vapor. The draw is pretty much effortless without the cap, and coming from a DynaVap it's a completely different experience. Sometimes the DynaVap feels like sucking a milkshake through a coffee stir. But the amazing thing is that vapor just seems to keep coming and coming until you give up breathing (interpret that how you will). After a long exhale and sweaty coughing fit, I looked at the bowl to see that it was only about half extracted. Stirring it showed that there was some green left, so this time I used the cap and took a hit. The draw was only a little more restricted, still nothing compared to the DynaVap, but the vapor was dense and milky. I'm now here pretty much paralyzed and typing this from a Stephen Hawking position.

It's pretty safe to say that this is the desktop to beat. The EVO is nice, but those stupid EZ(HARD)Load Bowls get dirty so damn fast that you are constantly cleaning them. The Volcano is great, but some people like glass and some people like bags (I like both!) and it's impossible to get that between the eyes Mike Tyson hit that the Showerhead delivers. I should mention that I do not do any concentrates, so I saved the money and went with the Showerhead.

I personally like the modularity of the system, but that is also what makes it intimidating when approaching it for the first time. I knew nothing about e-nails and controllers (but know a lot about PID and other stuff from various other projects) and trying to figure out what I needed to get took some research. Now that I have the system in place, I'll probably build myself a custom stash box for it. You can see my super sweet 2 minute temporary stand in the photo below. Bravo guys, it's a great vape.

Love the brush, but would prefer the brush and debowler be mounted in a removable tray, the cover imho is unnecessary as I do not find the smell off AVB to be a problem. It seems like a hassle to switch out debrush and debowler, I’d prefer they be mounted at 1/3 the distance from the tray edge and 2/3 the distance allowing the user to debowl first and then debrush with no need to swap either out. The way the tray and cover is in the video it elevates the profile of the debowler/brisk excessively. I do love the fact that the debowler/debrush are far away from the heads significantly reducing my concern for burns.

I do agree with @VaporWare on the tool holder diameters.

Regarding the grinder position, could it be moved vertically up to center and horizontally to the left , the second carb cap holder would then go bottom right of the grinder spot? This would move the tool holders to above and below the grinder storage along the edge of the tray. I’m not confident I would place my grinder here, but it does introduce space between the HOT stands and the tools and debowler, so it may be necessary.

Are there any do's / don'ts with the PID controller? Best practices if you will?

I'm concerned about damaging the unit after extended sessions.

Is it okay to leave on / heated for hours? Sometimes my sessions go longer when sharing the FP.

After turning off the heater - am I free to turn it off without worrying about it displaying itself cooling down?

You can leave it on for days if you want. It doesn’t seem to hurt it. I’m not comfortable leaving home with it on, but otherwise I had it on for most of the last year.

I did ultimately have an issue with the display not coming on after I started taking it out with me a couple of months ago, so now I’m using the Auber controller and hoping to fix the other, but I don’t *think* it was caused by being on so much, I think something just shook loose inside while it was in the car.

You can turn the whole thing off at once without a problem, but if you don’t have the display on you (or someone else) might not realize how hot it is and touch the head before it cools down enough. I just turn it all the way off before leaving home, but if I’m here I’ll often leave the display on to make sure I know when it’s cool enough to touch.

Edit:

another little project underway and NewVape.

Looks interesting! A rosin press isn’t at the top of my list yet, but it’s definitely on the list. Is this one just for high volume pressing, or are you managing to get small amounts out and down into the containers?

I’m sure you don’t have a price yet, but do you expect it to be in a certain range, or is this for a certain market?

These PID controllers are subjected to continuous use all the time in industries such as beer brewing. The quality of the cheap Chinese units can't be guaranteed, but their failure shouldn't be caused by being left on.

Yes @jonpanic SW 2011. Thank you for the kind words. I'm honored to be included in the same sentence as a ferrari. I just got my first dynavap. I've never wanted to like something more than the dyna vap. I love the simple design.

I'm not sure why the dabber holes are so large. My intentions were for them to be slightly larger than the new dabber end cap.

We have a removable 3" dia q-tip holder in the works for the grinder spot.

I would not expect the duff box with the openings on top to suppress much smell.

I assumed one might use the debowler spike or brush and had not considered both. The magnets are very strong and will have no problem supporting both. The brush holder uses a standard 1/8 shank.

I appreciate your feedback @YaMon @VaporWare

The the small stand was able to be picked up after holding a vrod set at 800 deg for 1 hr.

nothing's been tested yet on the duff box or brush.

It would be nice to have a small low profile handle for my showercap carb cap. I don't use any concentrates so having a long handle is kind of unnecessary and unwieldy, it's fallen off twice now mid hit.

They’re designing another wood-insulated handle right now, but I’m not sure how long it will end up being. For now you can use one of the bowl handles if you pick up an extra one.

@NewVape710 wouls you ever consider an FP head that was dedicated strictly to flower? A great number of us use other devices for concentrates. I’d personally love a completely optimized sole use piece

A while back I had suggested a 2 piece design like the VROD but with the Showerhead hole layout and no concentrate dish or carb cap. Of course I wanted it out of MACOR too :D

I think it would have made for a nice and simple rig! Easy to use and understand for beginners with MINIMAL parts, very KISS, nothing overwhelming. Closer to the glass bowl + lighter turned vaporizer concept.

Newvape710 , just wanted to throw in a few suggestions for a flower only head. How about making the coil fit inside similar to the vrod, but without the top smaller hole and dish area, with a lengthened diffuser for better heat transfer to the air. It looks like the encased coil of the vrod gives better heat distribution through the titanium, longer diffuser and i think the temp on the controller could be set even lower then the vrod. Depending on load depth it may be possible to never need to stir.

My ultimate flowerpot, would have more smaller holes in the diffuser, but i understand the business limitations of that. Maybe not even that many more smaller holes to reduce the max airflow, so you couldn't draw too fast very easy. Increased airspeed and more negative pressure to reduce needed temp for vaporization, with less temp drop on the diffuser around the holes, May be worth playing with a prototype or 2 to see if it makes a good improvement.

On the smaller showerhead style unit, would the bowl width be 15.5mm? I remember a few portable units getting complaints for narrow bowl width. Think, they are around 14mm wide

Isn’t the same thing accomplished with a carb cap? I cannot imagine trying to drill smaller holes through titanium, even with a liquid cooled/lubricated CNC bit it will be at a minimum problematic which just increases cost. I’m totally cool with my ShowerHead as is. While it has a dish that goes unused, if I happen to come into some concentrate I can have a go at twaxing.. and if I like that enough I can order a VRod. I’m no machinist, but I cannot see a compelling reason to retool the product. If they do the only change I would really care to see are wrench flats so it is easier to separate the post and nut without creating wrench marks and scratches.

I actually went to my local public library and they have a small CNC machine that is free to use. I spent like $3 on a piece of wood and designed a setup with everything I needed.
