Hi folks, I've managed to pick up a second hand vapman that I can't wait to be delivered. Any cool tips? How good is the heater station? Do you see many of those sell second hand?
Cheers

I have a video of me using it a couple pages back.

Also the safest way to use is to inhale after each heat cycle to avoid combustion. Dont head for more than 3 long seconds.

Once you feel comfortable with the vapman you can experiment for a different experience

Hello all,

I just thought I would throw in my own experience with the vapman which I've been using for two years now.

I mainly smoked moroccan style hashish so reading through the amazing knowledge on FC I decided on the vapman. I also wanted to stop smoking (joints with tobacco) and like others I found the ritual involved with the vapman a great replacement for the ritual of rolling joints.

The flavour from vaping hash in a vapman is incredible. It also leaves a really nice scent in the air. My girlfriend likes it so much she is happy to see me break out the vapman for a cheeky vape :).

The efficiency is mad. What I usually smoked in a Joint will now do two or three refills on the vapman and set me up over a day. I started off by scraping off shaving using a decent scissors. I started using a wood carving knife a few months back but have since changed back to using a scissors. The reason was the knife cuts were just too fine, almost dust like. The scissors seems to work for me, shaving off just the right size for the vapman.
Since then I've started buying weed again as well as hash. My vapman doesn't discriminate and works great for both. I've bought another 3, Walnut Classic, Yew tree, two tone yew tree and a pear basic. Probably not needed but they just look and feel amazing. Little works of art. The heater station was a game changer as well. I highly recommend that to anyone thinking of trying it out.

Big thank you to all the people who have been posting already on this thread. It's whats convinced me to give it a go and it's been a revelation. I even managed to kick the tobacco habit.

Howdy! Glad you joined, though it's clear you've been lurking about so know there are lots of fine folks with useful experience to offer. Now you're the latest to join that group!

What a fantastic first post! I hope it's just the first of more to come. You've got a different perspective than many of us, your tale is well received.

Thanks very much for a delightful 'read'.

@Dynavaper: Thank you so much!

I am amazed how you've chosen the Starman of David Bowie! I was in love with David Bowie when I was 17 and I still like his songs. Did you choose this just by accident or are there higher connections?

I am really perplex about this.

All of you have a nice day, too, you deserve it!

Hash is amazing with the Vapman! Do you have all three of your intake holes open or have you modded them? My used Vapman has two closed but my new Vapman I haven't done that to yet

I had a small series of two and four parts grinders with an ugly logo in stock. I decided to mod these. The logo could be removed by sand blasting and the top got a powder coating. This is the result, they look definitely better than before. It wasn't possible to seperate the parts after the sand blasting so I had to make a shiny groove on the lathe, which makes them look quite special. The sand blasting gives them a good grip. I thought I might share this with you guys.

Do you just use toothpicks to do this, leaving a bit of a nub sticking out? Would a small spot of tape work as well?

I got my first Vapman from a user on here who had already done the job, it looks to be a very well done job with the toothpick hack, two of the holes are blocked and it gives an amazing amount of vapor, I'm thinking to do it on my exotic wood Vapman but don't want it to look messy as I've never done this before

@vapman Anything new in the works? A new vaporizer desk/portable or new accessories!?! That grinder is looking mighty fine! I still want a Vapman hoody that looks like is made out of wood lol

Nothing new in the pipeline at the moment. I invested time and money two years ago by doing basic research on how to vaporize flowers with the smallest amount of electric energy. I achieved some amazing results but bringing it to a commercially interesting product is just a number too big for me. A big company will probably do it one day. There are possibilities to vaporize flowers with very little energy. I was doing tests on vaporizing very small portions at a time in a thermic insulated chamber. What I had in mind requires a herb storage tank with a loading system. The idea sounds simple, the development and realization is very costly. Having an idea is like fathering a child, bringing it to the market is like having a child or children.

I'm sure that would be a real milestone in vaporization technology. The previous developments of the electric vaporizers are all based on the same principle and have been copied 1000 times, hardly anything new has been added.

Just as we are used to it from you, your new idea, on the other hand, is revolutionary. Just like the Vapman in its category.

And already your new development prototype produced a great taste with every draw. I'm convinced that if you had the manpower and the resources, it would shake the entire vapo market from the ground up and others could wrap it up with their energy wasting devices.

Found this neat review, it's nice to see more of these. I also like that Bud "The Vape Critic" did one as well. Though he didn't master a good technique as you can get a large hit if you keep it below temp for a couple cycles and then blast it for a full extraction by stacking your hits. I can almost do as big as a hit as my Dynavap but I prefer the extra airflow to make my draws more comfortable.

@vapman did you think about crowdfunding?

To be honest, I haven't thought of it. Maybe because crowdfunding can create pressure and high expectations. I think crowdfunding is great if the product is ripe for production and money is the last issue to bring it on the market. To do crowdfunding at the beginning can be nerve wracking. I am thinking of one good example we could all follow on FC. It starts with G, I say no more.

The other reason why I didn't follow the idea further up the alley (I invested after all 2000 Dollars and quite a lot of hours already) was simply, that I felt tired and didn't feel like doing it on my own. A good partnership could be very fruitful. I am telling you a secret now...haha. I was actually thinking and hoping to do it with Storz & Bickel. I know these guys personally but I realized very quickly that they are very busy with their own thing. They would have the right size and the money to venture such ideas. We'll see what the future will bring us on this field. Remember, the car industrie didn't start with air bags.

I haven't blocked any of the intake holes. I've seen tales of people blocking them but I find covering one or two of them with my fingers when drawing has the desired effect. Having said that, nothing ventured nothing gained so I might give it a go on this weekend. :)

So I've been using my vapman through a water pipe recently and Ive been loving it.

Idk if this is mentioned in the 300 plus pages of this thread... but the midsection fits in 14mm joints.

It is noted further on the page that it does fit a 14mm native, though I was never a fan of the fit. For water filtration I prefer to use a 10mm adapter that I picked up for $12 and fits the mouthpiece rather than the wood body and also has a nicer seal. alternatively I use the fat mouthpiece from dynavap on my VM and that also fits a 14 mm better. I like the option but I can use either the 10mm for my Davinci IQ - Vapman and Omnivap or I can use the fat MP on all of them.
