It’s been a while since I have used my VapCap... well. It had been a while. Then all of a sudden I read someone saying they used the switch as the induction heater.
I have been using my DynaVap so much now. In fact my switch hasn’t been used for it’s normal purpose in over a week. I just ordered an Omni so I have another one to rotate.
Can’t wait for a more portable stealthy IH. I have already reached out to Pipes.
Anyone looking to use the switch, I find that on leaf setting and in advanced mode the second geeen best setting is perfection.

Hey guys i am getting back into the dynaworld. Really want a Omni XL but the price is really outrageous :(
Is there a big difference between the nonavong xls and the omni xl?
They both have a ti tip so its technicaly the same. Is there better airflow with omni?

The Omni has the ability to choose how much of the carb you want open, from about 100% open to only 10% open, without having to put your finger on it. Kind of a “set it and forget it” feature. Some people like it, some don’t use it.

Same function but one is manual and the other automatic in terms of regulating airflow. I keep my Omni fully restricted. It is an earlier model and I can fully clamp down the air flow. The newer Omnis don't seem to completely close or fully open the air flow from the air port.

The NonaVonG XLS has the spinning mp, which is nice for twirling and fits into a 14mm water piece. The air flow is regulated by placing your thumb over the air port. The Omni has the Omni condenser/mp assembly which allows you to set and forget your prefered air restriction.

The Omni is a beast! I believe that the threaded condenser/mp assembly creates a more dense unit and therefore more resistant to extreme punishment. But all Vapcaps are robust enough to last a lifetime.

Neither one is better, just a bit different. Go for the model that appeals to you and your pocket book.

Thank you, I can confirm now that I own 2nd and 3rd gen tips. Browsing this thread in the timeframe of the 4th gen release there seems to be a noticeable upgrade in the flavour department, need to experience that by myself I guess. :)

I have gen 5 and 6 and I have the impression that #5 (the squared fin one) retains heat a bit more ( a little bit more SS/M like) than #6. My #6 has some "wings" in the top air inlets but is there a #7 ? because I saw some pics of the green omni's tip and the "wings" seem more pronounced.

One week with my Shadow M... ok, i´m in love with it
i need to improve for shore my lighter skills, but i think i almost have it.

Good flavour, very portable (i have a work travel one day after arrives and yes, i bring with me in plane), "easy" to use, quick use... nothing you don´t know...

I´m waiting for a custom @mrb body (yes, dynaverse is full of galaxies), and in the while i wait for it i want to make an mouthpiece. I think i see a oicture at the forum with a cut of one MP, to see de inside with the measures, but after 2 hours of research i caný find, and i ask for you: someone have this measures or photo? i have not one MP to see and make this measurements...

Thanks in advance... now, one click of sweet herbs (have my back heavy blocked up)

Yeah, you saw right. George did a youtube video at one point on the generations and it's tough to really delineate, they definitely make iterative changes all the time.

The 8mm is the most important part. I start from drilling that 8mm, then going through the middle with the 5mm, then sand/shape around those key features. I do this by spinning the MP on the 5mm drill bit through the middle, and sanding.
(Drill bit in reverse so mp is on the smooth end, with a tiny tiny bit of tape on the drill bit shaft to help the mp wedge/grip to the drill bit when spinning. If any tape gets stuck inside just drill through it again after)

To really get it really shiny you'll need to go to high grit sandpaper like 400 - 600. And i'm sure some of our makers would go even higher to polish :)

my intention is desing and 3d print a few MP, i have not wood lathe, but when i make, i can bring to a pipe artisan i know (Galician and British music instrument) and for him is easier to make if i have the right measures and an example.

It definitely seems that way. So far, I've picked up two gen 5 tips with the squared fins and even these have some variation between the cutouts at the top. One has very pronounced "wings" and the other has none at all.

I’ve seen videos of the Dynastash holding a Vapcap upright with the magnet but my cap won’t stick to a magnet, at least the center of the magnet. The sides and edges of the flat end stick but he center of the flat end repels the magnet and it slides to the side. My cap is from a 2018 Vapcap M. I’ve tried different magnets with no joy. Have others seen this happen? It’s no big deal, but was curious as I was going to install a magnet on my homemade induction heater

Also, George says in his videos that the caps are cut from a block of stainless steel. I thought magnets didn’t stick to stainless steel? I guess there are different grades that do - learn something new everyday.

I assume that bottom one is very recent? That seems to be the latest change and I have not held one yet to examine for other changes. It's pushing it a little to give it a new generational number just for some "wings" on the channel cuts, but if there is a noticeable difference in how it hits...

Wait, there is no scalloping under the fins. I'm not sure what we are looking at. It looks like a winged gen5. Did you file that yourself?

OK, well, fuck it...it’s time to be declarative. VapCaps and RBT Splinters are my jam. 4 years of experimentation, and thanks to vaping, paid for by efficiency...many vapes...logs...3 of the 4 Storz and Bickels....I can safely say that my Caps and my Spinters carry the load now, day after day. Small supplements of good cartridges pretty much take care of the rest.

Took my shadow to a buddies house. He wasn’t really interested in the xmax pro, and neither was I once I realized how little time per charge I’d get.
I busted it out but didn’t tell him what it was. Immediately get weird looks from him and his wife, followed by the obligatory “is that a crack pipe” question that I knew they would ask lol. Take a rip after the 2 clicks, he smells what I’m cooking up, and placed an order for one within the hour. This thing is solid, can’t wait to get an ih and really step the game up!

No filing on my own, the tip with wings was purchased that way, fairly recently in fact. I found a retailer that had a Blackwood NonaVong still in stock less than a month ago and it came with this tip.

The other gen 5 tip without wings I purchased last week. I came across someone selling a brand new darkwood OmniVong along with several accessories, including a bundle of degummed hemp fibre. I actually only wanted the hemp fibre, but it ended up being a really good deal so I just bought it all. :lol:

I don't notice any significant difference between the gen 5 with wings and my gen 6 tips. I haven't used the gen 5 without wings, as I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it.

I gotta say, personally, I think I prefer the gen 5 fins aesthetically. I'm sure the newer design of the gen 6 fins probably disperse heat more efficiently, and I certainly don't dislike them, but there's something about the squared fins that just appeals to me.

Wow! You just got your first VC and you’ve already converted someone? Very impressive! I still haven’t converted anyone to actually buy a VC. Sometimes I feel like an evangelist, trying to convert combusters to vapers. I’ve gotten quite a few to buy a vape (wish I got a commission :)) but VC is the one I really want to spread the gospel. I think now that I have an IH it will happen soon.
Keep spreading the word!

Hardly counts. I am a hermit outside of work, and I’ve known him and his wife (my best friends and technically only friends lol) for about 16 years now.
He smokes but is “health conscious”
I think what might have pushed him over the edge was the fact that when using my bic, I pointed out the soot, and we both concluded that a lot of that was being inhaled when smoking (super gross! Like really really gross!!)

The case I have holds 2 squat jars that can easily jam 1/2 ounce in each (with the 62% boveda packs of course:rockon:)
For sure overkill, considering how little I need in this guy, but if the world ends, Atleast I can rest assured that this one box will keep me peaceful for the first few weeks :zombie:

My two vapcaps in regular use have a gen 6 and gen 5 tip. To me any difference in performance is un-noticable. I prefer the looks of the gen 5.

The best looking (Gen 4) is noticeably less effective for me. Not by much at all, but it is noticeable un-like the 5/6 comparison.

I am fairly confident the Gen 6 changes were for the sake of easier machining and less breakages in the cutting heads and the ti tip being machined. The scalloped shaped grooves must put less strain on both the material and the cutter than the deep square grooves of the previous generations.

There seems to be variation in the shape of the cutouts on top of the tips in each generation. Not sure why, and I've yet to read a comparison between different shaped cutouts. Can't imagine a lot of difference is created by this small detail!?
