I got my sauce stand today!! Super rad. Holds my cap, tweezers, sauce pots, and I’m sure I’ll figure out some other stuff.

Also included was the very nice soft carrying case for the e-nail as well!

Really glad I preordered/purchased this e-nail. It has been rock solid and the uptemp mode is freaking awesome.

My MaxVapor arrived in the mail this week.

I am using 710coils 30mm axial coil , 30mm Halen Flat Clear Banger/Halen Insert, on a Mobius Scope Polygon 23.

Out the box, very clean finish. i chose black oxide. The interface is VERY responsive. Almost too much. Sometimes when scrolling through the menus, it will skip past 2 options instead of one. The options are impressive. Being able to change startup , stable, dab complete sounds... just the whole sound theme thing is really cool.

Setting up wifi was a bit of a challenge for me. At first the unit would not connect to the router. I found it worked better on the initial setup to do it via phone vs pc. Dashboard / widgets work. This really makes the controller feel next level. Knob adjusting the temp is smooth.

Heating it... Ive found I like around 620 or lower for effect/smoke, 550+ for flavor/vapor. This is where uptemp mode comes in. To me, this is what makes this product above everything else out there. I can have it sitting at 460, ramp up to 485-500 as im loading it - get two hits of tasty vapor in before it hits 700 (stops heating) then get another two hits of smoke while it peaks at 770 to finish it off. This way i get low temp dab with all the flavor, then high temp dab with all the effect, and very little is wasted. I like low temp dabbing but I cant stand wasting it. This gives the best of both worlds, with a single tap of the device.

It holds a stable temp to +4/-3 degrees. It heats at a constant,fast rate 3 degrees at a time.

Tweaks:
If you scroll through the menu fast enough, the menu icons glitch out. The appearance looks distorted, but goes to normal with one turn/click. Not bad, still fully functions, its just not perfection, but this is still not even 1.0 firmware.

This controller also did not work with my brand new 710Life nectar collector 10mm coil. It would not detect. So i would not use any coils from 710LIFE. It works fine with the 30mm 710COILS coil. i did order a d nail brand nectar collector coil so hopefully that will work. No custom heating profiles available on the dashboard yet.

If you turn the controller off via the switch on the back, you lose your uptemp mode settings :(

These are small complaints for what this thing does. Uptemp mode with audio cues, dashboard widgets, auto update/tune, clean blue led gui and a smooth button dial are all things not found in other e nails. well worth the money imo.

Custom dab stand came out excellent as well. The soft shell case also fits everything perfectly.

@windshieldking Thank you for your detailed writeup and I am very glad you are enjoying the controller and we are always eager to receive customer feedback to improve the software and functionality.

Good news for you on the Knob Sensitivity, the firmware update came out of testing this morning adds a new menu setting for knob sensitivity as it is something a few users have requested. It should be pushed out to everyones controller within the next day or so.

The screen glitching on certain menu selections is something we are aware of and have been reducing the frequency of occurrences with each firmware release.

Regarding the uptemp settings not saving, I will file a bug report for you as I was not aware that was a problem. You can probably use the dashboard widget to set and save the settings until we get that checked out.

Regarding the heat profiles we have had a few users report missing profiles and trouble enabling the third party integrations in their account which is usually just a setting not enabled on our side and if you send us an email we can get that sorted out for you pretty quickly usually.

This controller looks amazing, if I'm ever in the market for a new one, I know where I'll be looking! Love how tiny it is too.

Guys this thing is SOLID! It may be tiny but its got some real heft to it, as soon as you pick it up you're aware this is no joke! Love that crisp OLED screen, super easy to read. Seriously this thing punches above its screen size. Overall I was up and running in seconds. Plugged my coil in, set it ti 500F and off she goes :lol:

The carrying case is nicely constructed as well, nothing janky here, even the zipper is solid (night and day from those vapecode cases) you're definitely receiving a premium product that has clearly been thought out for some time. Even the foam insert appears to be laser cut for a precision fit, no plucked foam that starts falling apart after you pull it out a few times. There's a zippered pocket inside with room for the power cord, your banger and coil; dabbers, carb caps... gummy worms :D:D

VERY easy to tune in to your favorite station! ;) Turn the knob to access the menu, where you can adjust your Temperature, Celcius or Fahrenheit, Auto Shutoff, Uptemp Mode, Self Clean, and more. They've made the menu very easy to navigate and adjust settings even with this singular form of input. More later :wave:

@maxvapor710 Would it be possible to add HomeKit functionality? If I could control the enail from my control center that would be an instant buy from me.

HomeKit is kind of a tricky one for us.

On the technical side, we could probably have it working in the firmware inside of a day. The SDK for our microprocessor has the framework built in already so it would be a trivial task software wise.

On the legal side is where it becomes difficult for us and again illustrates where you can do stuff as a hobbyist that you can't do as a commercial product without jumping through hoops.

Apple lets makers and hobbyists integrate with HomeKit with no cost and no questions asked.

As a commercial product you have to apply for the MFi (Made For iPhone program) and your device must be manufactured in an MFi approved facility which is fine you can just spend some money and get that taken care of... but, we manufacture the device ourselves which means we have to apply to be an MFi licensed manufacturer.

From what I understand there are huge costs associated with this, Apple has to come inspect your facility and a number of other legal steps to take care of which we just can't afford on a small run niche market device like an e-nail controller as all of those costs get passed on to the consumer. This also brings up the question as to whether Apple would even allow our device to be certified given the nature of the product.

There are probably a few ways that you can get it working with HomeKit as it is. We have IFTTT integration and a full API available and I know there is a project called Homebridge you can run on your own network on a pc or raspberry pi to connect unsupported devices to HomeLink, making a plugin for the e-nail shouldn't be too difficult.

Thank you for the super in-depth response! I will for sure be looking into that app, and I may contact you to ask a few questions, depending on what would be needed for the app. I have a regular enail plugged into a Wemo wall plug at the moment through WiFi, but I would love to control it as well. I’m excited to dive into this!!

Well @tylerj55 I had a spare Raspberry Pi3 sitting around doing nothing so I put a fresh install on it and loaded up Homebridge which took about 10 minutes.

I spent a few hours messing around and I have basic functionality through Siri where I can turn the e-nail on and off and set the temperature for now. If I get more time this week I will polish the code a little bit and add a few more functions and push it up to NPM so anyone can install it with a single command.

Once you pair the actual Homebridge device, all of the accessories seem to just get populated automatically so all you need is a computer that is always running or a raspberry pi plugged in somewhere in your house. I need to work on it a little bit for those who have multiple units, etc so it gets pulled from our API automatically.


On another note, I have had a few requests for custom color units which normally take 45 days to manufacture and have a $100 up charge.

If any of you out there are looking to get a unit, and I can get about 5 more people on board for custom colors, I can offer them for the normal retail price (no additional charge for coloring) and get them back in about 10 days.

I might be interested in doing something similar to what I am doing with the Omron to also work with the MaxVapor unit ... really just a custom Raspberry Pi unit w/ some controller software and a mobile app (really just a swap out of the RS-485 communication piece I have going with the Omron for the MaxVapor API)

(that way it will work w/ Alexa for me :) )

As long as you can navigate to the endpoint in your browser you will get a page like this detailing how the endpoint operates, what parameters are returned, what methods are accepted, etc.



If you want to put together some common API requirements we can both standardize on I can make sure some of our team makes time to contribute to it, maybe using swagger or blueprint or something like that.

What's the security on the API? Or can anyone on the local network access the device? (and thus do things like change the temp, turn on/off, etc ...)

The controller doesn't expose an API directly, it only maintains an MQTT connection with our servers.
You send us the API command, we send the MQTT command to your device.
