dunno how yours is, but mine, referring to a pic:
from top down:
Thumbscrew (nut?)
brass colored lock washer
Copper RBT contact plate
silver regular washer
RBT guitar pick
visible center screw threading
brass colored (washer thick) at wood, but dont remember it moving, may attach at wood
(when I take it all off, pretty sure i have in my hand: Thumbnut; Brass lock washer; copper RBT; silver washer, guitar pick)
I dont know how you mean wonky, byt mine seems to need to sit at a fairly severe angle when tightened, I need to, but havent, get something for below the guitar pick. Even if I'm not missing anything.
Also, how proud of the surface is your battery end?

The order is whatever works best for you. Because the contact at the bottom of the battery well varies from unit to unit as well as over time, you arrange the washers and pick to get the best contact you can. You might need to add or remove a washer. Right now mine has three washers below the plate and no pick, and the plate is level. The battery rises ~2 mm above the body. (That's the thickness of two dimes for you Americans and the metric-impaired.)

i am in love ... this baby rocks ... i'm two stems in and feeling good! definitely a little technique involved (using my sticky brick junior probably gave me a headstart on technique) but i haven't come close to combusting yet and the avb has been even (with stirring between every couple hits). did i mention i love this thing?

Is there anything to doing/not doing these things? I know Ryan carbs, pulses, flicks and spits on whatever works, but he admittedly has a bullpen that I do not. So, for regular folks?

I never pulsed much (didn't have carb) with my Milaanas, but you gotta just experiment and see what works best for you. Being such a manual device, it really is up to the user. I will say that this heater and this tech is super robust so I wouldn't worry too much about abuse.
Just don't hold the button down for too long on a fresh battery and you should be fine, also being sure to remove the battery or put the guitar pick in place when not in use and/or in a precarious position like a pocket.

Oh to be sure, I only meant that you may be more cavalier in the way you babt the Mi heater if a replacement is always only an arms reach away. I have backups, sure, but not usually duplicates...
so just a hold up, release cool, once per draw? interesting...

I had no idea what this little thing was capable of. I have been using my Mi2 since November with some batteries I got from Amazon (LG) I think the batteries were subpar or fakes, because I nevee felt like it reached its full potential. I never felt like i was anywhere close to combusting even when riding the button.
I just picked up some sony vt6 from 420EDC and this thing is a completely different beast. A pretty ferocious one at that. Wow!
Lesson learned. Buy batteries from reputable sources only.

Rumor is that Vgoodiez forgot more about the RBT tech than most people will ever know ... and that more Mi2's will land mid to late march but RBT will probably blow that date I would guess?
