What was your first experience with vaping?

FIREFLY 2. I used it less than 10 times and gave up on vaping for a couple years until I decided to give the Mighty a whirl. I couldn't figure out how to work the FF2 consistently. I got a couple of good hits off it but most of my tries not so much. I went back to combusting after FF2. It just didn't do it for me. It still sits here untouched, nice paper weight. After I went Mighty I didn't go back.

I read of vaping but no one in my sphere vaped. I bought a Hot Box. A Hot Box is a ceramic cube that contains a heating element. You load a whip and hold it against the element. When I finally learned how to use it, it changed my life. While I no longer smoked cigarettes, I always had a smoker's cough: so much so it worried my un-cool friends and family. I found that by vaping, I no longer had a smoker's cough, even though I cough at times with vaping.

My first experience vaping was probably using a quartz wand to vaporize bubble hash. My buddies used to use them to smoke, but I quickly realized I could utilize the radiant heat for a much smoother experience. That wasn't long after I started smoking.

I started with a little glass pipe from dropper I took of the plastic air sack and filled the glass stem with a herb, I was originally smoking from it and then once I tried to heat it from beneath it, and it released this flavor, I was like omg! wtf is this ! I wish It could be easier to get this taste! :D surely I evolved too:) but this is my humble begining :)

I think it might have been one of those Vapor Brothers plugins that look like automatic pencil sharpeners. I was not fucking impressed lol. I was going from blunts and bongs to that and was like "uhh, I guess that works but fuck this shit."

Volcano changed everything. First time I tried one was like "holy shit vaping is the real fucking deal." If it wasn't for that, I don't know if I ever would have made the switch. Thank you to Storz & Bickel and a big ol' fuck off to Vapor Brothers, assuming that's who made that piece of shit I used the first time I vaped.

Just a dude
Bag of Volcano vapour at a bar in Amsterdam in 2007 or 8. This was later at night so I was already at maximum elevation and couldn’t perceive getting higher! The volcano at coffee shops was still a novelty then, I guess I just wanted to try it because it happened to be there and was I too.

Took a long time for me to look into vaporization seriously and stumble through the door here.

My 1st vape experience (not counting hot knives) was with some geezer called Eagle Bill who was demonstrating his vape in the Dampkring in Amsterdam back in the day, lol! From memory that vaporizer was a hot paint gun stripper placed into the top of a demi-john jar which had a cork stopper with the herb loaded in some kinda holder that went thru it down into the jar....as I said, that was back in the day, in the mid 90's, lol!

However, in the modern era, I started in 2011 with a hotbox, wtf, lol! We then graduated to the Arizer Extreme which was a step in the right direction, from there we moved up to the Volcano (aka The One above all ) and also the Plenty. I then backed that up with the Crafty (now retired) and then the Mighty, my significant other loves the Mighty - so that means I do too, to be fair I use the Mighty on a daily basis, and then finally my personal favourite - when I can be bothered, The Aromed 4.0:rockon::rockon:

There is some discussion in the oldest vapes thread about ol' Eagle Bill. I'm jealous that you got to experience his presence back in the day.

My friend, That's exactly it.... :)
And yes, that was the guy who was doing the heating although he had blue headband from memory
Eagle Bill -Pioneer...
The night that I was there, I remember a guy (a rasta from memory) taking a couple of tokes, and I thought yep, I'm gonna have me some of that, especially as it was free. Eagle Bill was doing demo's about heating the herb without combusting it.. Radical -back then:sherlock:

Those were great days.. White Russian, White Rhino, White Widow and Kali Mist-Haze were running the place back then...:myday:

Ben Dronkers was doing slideshows in 'Positronics', (home of SSSC) about who was who back then and how strains had left the US and ended up in Amsterdam, that's when I first heard about the legendary Neville Schoenmaker (Neville's Haze:rockon:) and also Joe Haze and them, other legends.
I remember meeting Arjan from Greenhouse (Franco RIP) and Milla the woman who invented the pollinator, man that prototype had me well and truly fucked up outside the PAX in South Amsterdam.
I never thought all that, would lead to all this... So props to Eagle Bill - Legend:rockon:

Thanks for this, I'm going to be 'buzzing' all day on this memory. (I get high from the memory;))

I was very late to the game, i had been off the herb for a while, was interested in vapes but knew it would just encourage me to parttake.

Early this year I eventually did a bunch of research and was set on a Solo 2. Fortunately for me i couldn't afford one at the time, but i did have the money for a vapcap M. I never looked back. I now have a drawer full of vape stuff in all shapes and sizes. So worth it though.

I snuck into a certaom cafe that had a Volcano. I was about 16 or 17, so like a decade and a half ago. I managed to get a few pulls off it before the staff escorted my friends and I out for being too young. I wasn't really into weed. I found it really hard to smoke and tasted weird, but the Volcano opened my eyes. I then went on a very long quest that has lasted to this day.

Shi* I don't remember...:D
I know I read something about vaporising in a book. Somehow I bought a heat gun and a downstem with a huge bowl that fit the heat gun (maybe I have it still).
We did not think about bags nor did we have glass for such a huge downstem so we just blew that vapour in each others faces. I remember that those people (all seasoned tokers) were so blown away, because they got very high of just a pleasant odour somehow. They were looking for that thick smoke...and a little later everyone was giggling (Oldtimers included) and getting hungry.
I also collected a big fishbowl glass those days. So I think it is possible that I have seen that picture of Eagle Bill in a book before I tried vaporising. (so much for my memory).
Never put that fishbowl in use.
I got to try his vaporiser at hemp fairs. That was quite an experience those days. He just vapored everyone possible.

My first experience in vaping was early February 2018. I read the Arizer EQ thread, and partway through I ordered one. I hadn't been smoking long, or much, but I wanted something that wouldn't exacerbate my asthma. I have a nebulizer, so inhaling meds from a machine was familiar enough to make it seem like a good idea. I loved my Arizer Extreme Q, especially after getting the @DDave Mods. Still love it, but I spread the love around a bit, hussy that I am.
I was both charmed and transfixed by vaping . All of the benefits, none of the smoke. Hard to believe it hasn't even been a year.

My very first experience has been with a Volcano at the Abraxas coffeeshop in Amsterdam back in 2009. I was amazed by how I got super high with what seemed just warm air that tasted like weed but wasn't sold by the balloon thing.
Then in 2014 a friend gave me an MCig, a vape pen for dry herb that was mostly a charring device but I still enjoyed the effects more than a joint. At the time I was growing sick of smoking (had quitted cigarettes around 10 years earlier) and decided to buy a proper vape. I smoked my last joint one year later (October 2015) and I'm combustion free since.
To go full circle 10 years after my first experience I bought a Volcano and I couldn't be happier.

my first time vaping was also my first time using herb ever. I did 2 bags from the volcano, I filled the whole chamber with herb (and not with the steel pad in it) and did it at temp 6 then temp 8 or 9.

Funny thing was nothing happened lol. I was like wtf that's it? I did it the next day and nothing again.

(I did the research and found out its quite common for noobs to not get any effects the first few times. Kinda a mystery but some seem to believe that it is because it takes a few uses for the receptors to get accustomed to receiving the molecule)

so next week I had 1 bag (full chamber again. It took me a while to realize about dosages) at 6 or 7. And man... I had to lay down. I remember getting up to have a drink of water and layed down again, then for the next hour I was wondering if I ACTUALLY got up to get that drink of water or if I just IMAGINED it. lmao

Well, I understand that's how it is with sage and peppermint.

In the beginning of my use, I got very psychedelic effects from it. I enjoyed it but some times were scary. Actually during 2 or 3 times I got into fairly deep introspections about myself and those actually caused me to make significant changes in how I conducted myself, and helped me rebuild many family relationships that I let slip due to my own ignorance and selfishness. But that is maybe for another time. For that I'll always be thankful to the herb!

One bag from a volcano and we were all in.
We had one in hand by the time we got home and neither myself nor Mrs arb have smoked since.
We used that for a year or so then I found this place and now we have a bunch of vaporizers and bongs......and adapters and stands.......and chargers and batteries........been super fun and enlightening to boot.........win win eh?

My first experience with vaping dates back to when I was still smoking cigarettes: it was disappointing. Without taste. I borrowed it from a friend. Soon I decided to stop smoking. I was not well smoking, I had tachycardia, in short, I wanted to quit after 16 years of smoking. I stopped immediately thanks to the vaping. And now I have not touched a cigarette for more than two years.
